A Jolie-Pitt Halloween

by Sherry on October 31st, 2008

Premiere Of

I’m going to be honest about something right now. I maintain this blog but really? I haven’t got the slightest clue as to where the heck Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and the Jolie-Pitt kids are right now. I’m not sure if they’re back in Berlin, if they’re still in California, or if maybe they’ve headed to New Orleans.

If they had plans to take the kids trick-or-treating, it sounds like New Orleans would be a good place for them to do so since the locals have always been very respectful of the family. If they split the kids up amongst themselves and everyone wore good costumes, people might not even know it’s them!

What do you suppose the kids dressed up as this year? I could picture both Maddox and Pax as little army guys considering their interests, or maybe an Indiana Jones type of action hero. I can see Zahara as a ballerina and maybe Shiloh as a princess or a cat. The twins would probably just sleep through it but you can buy really cute footed pajamas that dress the babies up as different animals.

I love Halloween and would love to see their costumes!

Please remember this weekend is the official opening weekend for Changeling. I’m still hoping to get a chance to see it on Sunday - if you’re planning to see it in theaters, please try to do so this weekend because that’s when the numbers matter most!

I’m assuming they are either in Berlin, or, wherever they are, will be back in Berlin in a few days, considering Brad is filming his new movie there.

Interesting thoughts about taking the kids trick-or-treating. I was just thinking tonight, as I was handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, that the J-P kids probably didn’t get to go trick or treating if the clan is in Berlin, since, as far as I know, Halloween isn’t celebrated there.

That thought made me feel bad for the kids, especially since they probably have been trick-or-treating before. Angie alluded to this a little in an interview around this same time last year by telling what the kids dressed up as for Halloween. If anyone’s curious, Mad was Boba Fett, Pax was a monkey, Zee was a bunny, and Shi was what they called a “Bunkey”, a bunny/monkey hybrid.

Anyway, I felt bad for the kids (well, except for the twins, since they’re too little to even know what Halloween is!) possibly having to miss out on trick-or-treating.

Even if they are in Berlin, I’m sure Brad and Angie did something special with them for Halloween (for some reason, I can easily picture them all dressed up in costumes and having a “Halloween Party”!).

I think that they plan everything in advance, so either they using Brad break on filming to spend it in LA or they are going to Ethiopia soon, we shall see.
    I wish them all well!

yes, maybe they have joined up with Brad’s family as expect the grandparents would so love to see the bonny, beautiful Jolie-Pitt children, and hopefully the children enjoy seeing their grandparents.
I’m in the UK and we dont celebrate Halloween much here - I think it kinda became to be celebrated after some Spielberg film in the 1980s (my children were 3 & 5yrs I recall, and parents on my block arranged for all the children on the block to knock / ring the doors of other parents. There was an American woman living in the end house and I remember she had a lit pumpkin on her steps so that the children knew she was welcoming). Now my neice & nephew: 5 & 8yrs really enjoy celebrating Halloween, and all the children all go round in their fab costumes having “a whale of a time”.
yesterday I saw quite a few little ‘uns dressed up in costumes walking about with their parent/s; it was such fun to see their happy smiling little faces.
I hope yous all had a great halloween - and the Jolie-Pitts (yes, surely if at all poss, AJ & Brad would want the children to have celebrated halloween in the U.S.)

I dragged my husband to see Changling (he’s an action movie kind of guy), but he loved Changling. Actually thanked me for making him go. It was great and Angelina was amazing. I just wish that the tabloids would leave them alone. It must be so hard for them to ignore all the foolishness.

Halloween in Germany? perhaps not as in the US, but it does seem to be celebrated. Just google Halloween in Berlin, lots of costume parties for adults, and parties for kids. Plus, Heidi Klum? Hello!!! she’s German, and throws the biggest Halloween party! so, yes, maybe not like in the Sates our South American or Australia, but some celebration, especially in the capital of Germany (Berlin!) does happen!

Changling Review: Halloween is also my anniversary and so my husband took a vacation day. He’s not nearly the Jolie-Pitt fan that I am but he does a good job pretending. We went to the first showing on Friday at 12:30 and the theater was about 1/2 full, mostly retirees at that time of day. I thought she was spectacular and even my husband said he thought it was the best one she has ever done. (And he has been dragged to quite a few). I read a review by one of the Oscar forecasters and they said she should be in contention for an Oscar but if she didn’t get one it would be because the roll came very natural to her since she was a Mother and she didn’t have to change into a completely different person like she did for Girl Interupted. She gave an Oscar worthy performance in my opinion.

i want her to win an oscar but i think IMO it’s too early too talk about the “O” word - because the last time we talked about the oscar - her AMH performance was snubbed. i guess i’ll just have to wait and see.

Even though everyone is thinking they are back in Germany, I still think they are in California. My suspicion is they are in Santa Barbara for a little R & R. And as far as absentee ballots are concerned, they are mailed to their primary residence which is California. They cannot be mailed to France or Germany or NY. Remember, how Brad donated money for Prop 8? They are still here folks. They are very sneaky when they want to be.

Where ever they are I am sure that Brad and Angie made it special for the kids. I hope to make it to the movie tomorrow. Having dinner later in the day with all our children and their spouses to celebrate my husband, their Dad’s 68th birthday. He loves action movies, so he is going to make me happy. I am sure once we are there he will be okay.

When hubby was a kid (he’s 5 years older than me), kids 8 and under were out trick-or-treating by themselves - of course, that was in Peoria, so maybe things were supersafe. When I was growing up, I was 12 and in charge of my younger brothers on Halloween night.

Then came news of blades in apples, LSD in apples, etc. I don’t know if those were urban legends, but with the rise of child abductions, neighborhood house parties have become the norm. In our neighborhood, trick-or-treaters have become fewer and fewer since the 1980s; we even have leftover candy.

Here’s my Halloween costume fantasy for the JPs. Theme: Star Wars, of course. Perfect costume for the twins - twin baby Skywalkers! Vivienne as Leia and Knox as Luke. Maddox & Pax as stormtroopers, or maybe bounty hunters Greedo and Jango Fett.

Zee Zee can be the beautiful Jedi Luminara Unduli – she of the “exotic serious mien, marked by widely spaced eyes, a fruitwood complexion, and patterned tattoos denoting her dedication to physical disciplines. Years of intense training turned her body into a weapon itself, increasing the flexibility of her joints to allow her inhuman agility in combat.” And Shi is Zee’s padawan Bariss Offee, tattooed like her master and skilled in lightsaber fighting.

Brad could be burnt-to-a-crisp Darth Vader with his helmet off; the kids could watch him put on prosthetics so they wouldn’t be scared. And Angelina could be dressed as Padme Amidala in her funeral bier – long flowing blue gown, green to indigo ombre, tiny pleats, long wavy raven locks with tiny white star jasmine flowers studding her hair.

We were there last night, in the Oaks neighborhood and Brad’s little gated street had a lot of cars parked along it and pizza was delivered. We weren’t hanging out, its our closest trickertreat neighborhood too, quiet, safe, all variations of craftsman bungalows and a lot of families. The neighborhood was among the most fun and friendly wiith TT groups, and many of the adults and kids dressed in those rubber masks, so you never know. Everyone in that nook is just in that same league with Brad and Angie- young families, lots of gen-x hipsters, quite a neat current orientation to life compared to BevHills decadence glam. He picked a normal, wholesome, healthy neighborhood thats terrifically spirited at Halloween;)

    Ligaya,

Classic, But I would have Brad as HonSolo and AJ as Pr. Leia. The twins as Ewoks, Mad and Pax as Boba and Janga Fett. And Zee as Bariss Offee and Shi as Ahsoka Tano.

FUN FACT for all Star Wars fans: Besides directing Brad in Se7en and Fight Club, a young David Fincher worked as a special-effects technician at George Lucas’s Industrial Light and Magic.

Star revealed 3 of the kids’ costumes!
“With six kids, Halloween is surely a big event for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s brood. So the Jolie-Pitt clan hit the streets in Malibu on Friday to do some trick or treating.

And Star can exclusively reveal three of the kids’ costumes! Maddox dressed as a marine with a helmet while Zahara chose a Jolly Green Giant outfit, says an eyewitness.

Shiloh, meanwhile, dressed as a sheriff. According to the eyewitness, she kept saying to Angie, “I want more candy, mom.” Angelina told her, “You’ll get more, there are more houses.” Shiloh whined, “I don’t want to walk,” so Brad picked her up.

Sounds like a typical family Halloween!”

    Awwww!

What a cute picture of princess Zee wearing a leprechaun outfit! And papa Brad also looked pretty cool! So obviously the whole Jolie-Pitt clan spent Halloween in LA. I just hate the fact that whenever Brad and Angie are not together the rags´ first reaction is that they´ve split up. That is NOT so true. The twins are so small that they were at home with mum Angie and the older kids. And after Brad and Zee came home she shared her candies (or what was left of them) with her siblings and the whole family spent a fun night at home dressed up as different characters.

I saw this and there is a web page (can’t find it right now) that gives you step by step directions on how to do it. My husband downloaded the directions for next year. He is the pumpkin master in our house he did Darth Vader this year. You should have seen the gang of kids this year we had two clone troopers, two Emperors, Boba and Jango Fett, Yoda, Obi -Wan, Anakin Skywalker and Queen Amidala. Another over, Happy Halloween every one.

I saw this pretty picture of papa Brad and princess Zee dressed in their Halloween costumes. Zee looked absolutely gorgeous in that green leprechaun outfit! And daddy Brad looked hot too! So it seems that the whole JP clan spent Halloween in LA.

Nadia, assuming you meant that they might be going to Ethiopia soon to adopt, I seriously doubt it. Remember, Angie recently said you aren’t even allowed to begin the process until any new children are six months old.

Anyway, I’m not sure whether to believe the Star story or not. On the one hand, it’s nice to see Star doing a nice story on the J-Ps for once. On the other hand, I have trouble believing that BOTH Angie and Brad would be out trick-or-treating with the kids. It seems more likely that one of them would stay at home with the twins.

Also, I’m confused about Zee Zee’s costume. Some people are saying it’s a Leprechaun, others are saying it’s the Jolly Green Giant. So, which is it?

Yes it is indeed interesting being in the real-world of this world of illusions that so many people speculate how things might go, and of course those perceptions are shaped by what each of these people know of life, in their own lives, as well as the range of life they’ve had exposure to. It certainly is work for them to present themselves as “on” all the time, its not sustainable, so they move so very fast through a hundred plus shots giving a prolonged illusion of time, when its literally minutes. Even having copter options, security overhead at his very own permanent digs has got to be the best nights sleep of all. I think there has to be a lot of worry in these people with “it all” to ever have to feel a loss, be it death of their self or a loved one especially one who really shares their inner awkward experience with their surreal perceptions of all the outer phenomenon they live with and hope very hard to never disappoint; safety of the ones they love and feel their reality, identity validation, and daily stability with; privacy, attention, youthful ramp continuance in their life-cycle, embarrassment, money-growth….not to even mention all the sociopathic type threats that gravitate toward people with seeming impeccable images which would stop anyone’s heart in even thinking at any length about how confining it could be to try to predict ranges that are so beyond what is even knowable to someone with such tremendously great luck and world-support, if you will, as a testament to the universality to their unique strength and goodness, despite the obvious burden of still being mere mortal- but still good enough to inspire iconic connections for our daily lives world wide. I wonder if that sheds light on what we at close range see as the real deal, and still marvel at how they dedicate their lives to an unrelenting base of believers, all for the honesty of their good causes and true hearts deserving of a bigger voice, though in truth humbled every moment by it’s phenomenon.
