Albany mayor takes time to meet and greet Angelina Jolie

Even politicians can be hit with a bit of starstruck awe. While Angelina Jolie was filming in Albany, their mayor Jerry Jennings added meeting Angie to his list of things to do that day.
Mayor Jennings arrived on site where filming was taking place on the temporarily closed highway and asked if everything was going well, then mentioned that if it wasn’t going to inconvenience anyone, he’d love to take a moment to properly welcome Angelina to the area. Being as gracious as she always is, Angelina immediately came over to shake the mayor’s hand and to tell him that she had very much enjoyed her time in Albany.
She also invited the mayor to stick around and watch the remainder of the shooting. I’ll bet he would have enjoyed the opportunity but he had to decline since he had other commitments to attend to. However, Mayor Jennings did linger long enough to pose for a photo with Angelina, taken with his cell phone.
(Alas, the mayor has not contacted me with an offer to use his photo!)
All of that is interesting in and of itself, but here’s my favorite part of the article right here (emphasis mine):
He knew the actress was staying the night and suggested, if she needed anything, to let him know. She said “Brad (Pitt) was coming over and they were going to take it easy, stay in the hotel room and watch the fight,” referring to the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton light-welterweight championship from Las Vegas, Jennings said.
I’m not interested in getting into all the awful tabloid headlines that are circulating YET AGAIN this week. Naturally, they’re swarming with alarming relationship “news”, most likely due to the fact that Brad flew to L.A. earlier to take in the Chris Cornell concert (Randi has a photo over here). If the tabloids were right, I highly doubt that Brad and Angelina would be hanging out and relaxing together if they were in the midst of high-profile relationship drama.
I love that the mayor took time out of his day to go meet Angelina Jolie!

Here I go with my usual mantra, thank goodness for Pittwatch. Sherry, again you have a story that is fun to read and gives good facts about our couple. I am glad that the Jolie-Pitts do not pay attention to the lousy stories that go on day after day. I like so many others feel bad if Maddox was to see any of this stuff online. I am sure that Brad and Angie have setup protection on what he views.
This site is the breath of fresh air from other sites. Thanks Sherry for everything. No one knows where the Jolie-Pitt’s are right now,they could be in NY,L.A.Mo. or in Europe. One thing is certain they are all together as a family, loving & enjoying each other.God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

I just read this comment from Randi’s site, one of the comment mentioned about Star magazine May 18′th issue which alleged that Angie seduced her mother’s boyfriend and slept with him. It mentioned an insider talked to Star mag.

I love that the mayor went to meet with Angie – if I were the mayor I would definitely have taken her up on her offer for him to stick around…and then I would’ve drooled the entire day!

tabloids are tabloids.. they do anything for money! they could get a lot of that if their making-up stories for our fave couple and their family.. sometimes i’m wandering why they don’t say a thing about these stupid lies!? why not just tell something that would make them stop! like when i went to this magazine stall in our local mall, this OK! mag has Angies face on the cover and the headline is: Angelina Jolie never trust anyone! She learned not to trust anyone after all that’s happening to her.
oh really! i don’t think Angies like that! Maybe tabloids are the only thing she shouldn’t trust!

Imb site printed that Angie is supposedly filming in the Jamaica area Brooklyn on May 7th.
As for Star mag. they should be ashamed of themselves for writing such trash. I wish Angie would sue but they probably will have it stated in a way that they are not saying it but the person writing the supposedly tell all book is saying it. It amazes me on how Angie and Brad can take all of this. Guess the best is to not pay attention to it. I just wonder when the children get older what they will say. I am sure that they will talk to them about tabloids.
I absolutely love this story!!!I found what the mayor did very sweet!!!And in my opinion what he really wanted was that cell phone photo with Angie!!!I don’t want to say that he does not really care if everything was going well but…who can resist on Angie!!!
I think the tabloids have sunk to really low levels and I’m sorry but they do not write such horrible things about anyone else … yes, they do twist stories about other celebrities, but noone is attacked as much as angelina. I know this sells, and I really try to ignore these lies most of the time; however, sometimes you can’t avoid it, I get people asking me, if these stories are true, and these are not incredibly stupid people, it is just that some so-called “smart” newspapers have started picking up these tabloid stories (because they are so desperate in this recession)
Anyway, I’m a bit upset because I hate when smb’s image is trashed without them deserving it. Especially because Angelina and Brad seem to be like proper role models, different to all other shallow celebrities, and yet many will have this horrible image of them due to these tabloid stories. I think they should sue them! Other celebrities have done it, why not them!?

In Touch and Life & Style are both writing about Brad and Jen´s “secret” meeting in NYC. Personally I just laugh at these stories because they´re getting more and more ridiculous every week. If the JPs – and especially Brad and Angie – aren´t seen out and about for a month or two they´ve gone their separate way. They´ve done this before. When Angie was pregnant with Shiloh the whole family went into hiding for almost two months. And last year when she was pregnant with the twins they did it again. And also then the rags wrote the same:Brad and Angie have split. They have every right to their privacy. Unfortunately the rags disagree. But I think I´m not the only one who just laughs at these made-up stories with which the rags will only sell more copies. Cannes Filml Festival will start shortly and I´m pretty confident that both Brad and Angie will be showing a united front at the RC by smiling and looking lovingly at each other at the premiere of Inglourious Basterds. Can´t wait for those photos! What will the rags write then? That the whole thing is for PR? They love and respect each other and their children a lot. So eat your hearts out, stupid rags! Love this site. Helps me keep my sanity. God Bless the Jolie Pitts. I am so proud tobe a fan of Angie. She seems to be able to take all the garbage that the tabs dish out better than her fans. It seems we want to protect her but she is strong and has lived through this for 4+ years. Brad is very lucky.

i like hearing the story about brad coming over to watch the hatton-pacquiao fight with angie. heeh. so refreshing to hear such lovely snippets amongst the tabloid incongruence. however, the heat on angie’s only going to turn up some more because i hear andrew morton, the princess diana biographer, will be writing an unauthorized bio on angie. i’m sick of tabloids, especially after the major controversy this week with the gosselines. sorry, that’s way off-topic, but i am bothered by the business of the rags and their unscrupulous mission to sabotage lives. celebrities (actors, reality stars, etc.) are public figures, so, it’s part of the price they pay, but it bothers me that some people hardly think of them as humans. rags and those feeding off the rags are more keen to see that celebrities are bogged by scandal than see them succeed and be happy in life.

I don´t think it is necessary, but it is possible to prove In Touch story about Brad´s going to Aniston set on Apr 23, after leaving Salt set, is false.
Just remember E! Online caugth Angie and Brad leaving Salt set together on Apr 23 (somebody posted the link in this blog a week ago and i saw the video…).

Hey Pitt watchers and posters, It sounds as if you are as fed up with the tabloids as I am. I wish we could file a class action suit on behalf of the Jolie-Pitts and blow these crass liers out of the water,but we can’t so once again we must look elsewhere to when we can see this lovely couple again. Take care and watch out for the swine bug.
Marissa- Obviously I don’t know them, so I have no idea why they don’t sue the tabs. However, based on their interviews, my guess is that they feel there are much more important things to focus on than suing some tab.
As for the Brad and JA story….First of all, I want to make it clear that I highly doubt that it’s true (especially since JA’s reps have denied it AND there is photographic, video, or both-I’m unsure whether it’s photos or a video that E! showed- proof on Angie and Brad leaving the Salt set….and the tabs are claiming that it was after Brad left the Salt set that he visited JA. )
However, if it WERE true, would it really be that shocking or news-worthy? What I mean by that is that both Brad and JA have said that their divorce was amicable, and Brad said just a few months ago that he and JA still call each other to check in from time to time, and also that JA congratulated him (and possibly Angie as well, but I don’t want to assume too much) on the births of Shi and the twins (and possibly Pax’s adoption as well.).
JA has also said that they are still on friendly terms. Therefore, when you think about it, why WOULDN’T they visit each other from time to time? I also have a feeling that the tabs are claiming that Angie is furious about the meeting, which I find riducilous! She is still close with both Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thortnon, and remains in contact with them.
Therefore, I highly doubt she’s upset about Brad still being on friendly terms with JA. One other thing I think the tabs have really wrong…That Brad would basically meet with JA behind Angie’s back if they really did have a meeting. I can’t explain why exactly, but I just have a hunch that Brad would clear it with Angie first, and that Angie would be supportive.
Oh, and even if Brad and JA did decide to meet, that wouldn’t neccesarily mean that they’re “getting close again” as Life&Style is claiming. It could very well just mean that they have remained friends!
Neela- I don’t remember who that poster was, but I’d like to try my hand at it (just to warn everyone else: What follows is a summary of all the crazy conflicting tab headlines about Angie and Brad that have been flying around for the past 4+ years)!
Here goes:
Angelina and Brad have split….But wait a minute! No they haven’t. In fact, they are actually getting married! But actually, that’s not it, either. The truth is that Angie is pregnant…no, wait, she’s adopting again….no, she is, in fact, pregnant AND in the process of adopting again…and pregnant with another set of twins to boot! But wait…there’s no way she can be pregnant again, because she’s way too skinny!
But that can’t possibly be the case, because everyone knows that Brad is sneaking off and seeing JA behind Angie’s back…not to mention the fact that Angie is cheating on Brad with both men AND women (a little aside here: Why do the tabs seem to love to play up the fact that Angie once had an intimate relationship with another woman?)!
Oh, and Brad is also having an affair with the nanny (another aside: Apparently, depending on which tab you read, sitting with someone on a bed or giving them a massage now qualifes as an affair! Newsflash to the tabs: No it doesn’t, unless the massage involves intimate body parts!), and Angie is so mad she’s kicked him out of their bedroom.
Oh, but actually Brad has just given Angie an ultimatium: Either marry him, or it’s over/no more babies (depending on which tab you read)!
Thanks Sherry for this cute story. My neighbors who are Filipinos, gave a big party the night of the fight which lasted two rounds. Manny won easily against Hatton. As for the tabs, I don’t even bother with them: it is always split, getting married, going back to Jen, pregnant again, affair with her/his-costar, the nanny, getting too close wih her bodyguard; calling his/her exes….and on and on. What a waste of time for bad journalism. Have a Happy Mother’s Day to all and especially to Angie.
If Brad and Angie started suing all these tabs it would become a life time job. Also, then they would be making their lawyers rich because it would go on and on. I am sure they want to give their money to the poor who need it, not their lawyers.

This headlines have been going on for +4 years. I have read this same break’up stories in some cases with the same or very similar headlines in 2005, 2006, 2007and 2008.
If there’s anyone that still believes any of it, they need to get their heads examined.
Lee- I mostly agree with your statement. However, I think it’s a bit unfair to say that only people from California like JA and Oprah. There are certainly JA and Oprah fans from other parts of the U.S. and the rest of the world, not just California!
My own mother, for example, likes Oprah for the most part (although there are a few things Oprah does that she disagrees with), and my family doesn’t live in California!
Brangelina4Ever- It’s JON and Kate, not Tom and Kate, and Jon and the “other woman” have both denied the affair (plus Kate is clearly supporting Jon right now as well). Also Brad bought out JA’s share of Plan B either right after they divorced or just before their divorce was finialized.

If they were such great friends, how come they avoided each other at the oscars, why has Jennifer spent the last four years being passive aggressive towards Angelina with the “Uncool” and “consider the source” comments.
I guess the Joli-Pitts still going strong despite an orchestrated attempts by the tabloids to derail and ruin a family with six young children. I will never understand what it is about this family that threatens the tabloid and some section of the public, is it because Brad and Angelina has lasted longer when they only gave them a few months? Is it because of mixed racial nature of their family? Is it because Angelina has always refused to play the Hollywood game and in getting together with Brad has seemingly moved him away from the feckless, phony Hollywood life? I don’t know what it is but I am happy they have made it against all the odds.
Sherry thanks for keeping this site going and for staying positive, and also calming the jittery nerves of some Jolie-Pitt fans who probably have not been fans long enough to know that all these stories have been recycled for the last four years, the only difference is the ferocity and vileness of the attacks against Angelina.

Well, I can’t speak for everyone, but the reason I mentioned that they might meet from time to time because they are friends is because Brad himself has said that he mantains a “deep friendship” with JA. Granted, that was either last year or the year before, but he also said earlier this year (in the February issue of Vogue) that, basically, when someone has been a huge part of your life for seven years, you can’t just ignore that or erase that just because you get divorced.
JA has also stated that she and Brad remain on friendly terms. As for her comments on Angie…I really wouldn’t read to much into those. Brad was asked about the “uncool” comment in Vogue, and said that he feels she got “dragged into that one”. As for the “consider the source” one, I truly think that got taken way out of context.
It’s possible that she wasn’t referring to Angie at all, but to whatever media source published that particular interview of Angie’s.
Both Brad and JA have also mentioned that they still call each other from time to time, just to check in (and, in JA’s case, offering her congratulations on the births of Shi and the twins, and possibly Pax’s adoption as well).
Anyway, I wasn’t trying to “justify” the tabs. What I was trying to do is point out that I think the tabs are ridiculious and blow things way out of proportation.
