Angelina and Brad set the red carpet on fire
After two press conferences, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were quintessential Hollywood royalty for the premiere of A Mighty Heart this afternoon. Be still my heart! The two don’t seem to have any pictures where they aren’t touching each other in some way. They both look wonderfully happy and absolutely gorgeous.
Also in attendance were Marianne Pearl and her adorable son Adam, director Michael Winterbottom, and co-stars Dan Futterman and Irfan Khan.
I was able to get the story behind one of Brad’s humorous comments. The moderator had asked the couple to share their experiences from working on the film and Angie had given a lovely, heartfelt answer about overcoming hatred. Brad was so caught up in listening to her that he was flustered when the moderator asked him if he had anything to add, so he grinned and said he had forgotten the original question because he was “wafting in the words of what’s-her-name”. That’s hilarious!
Continue reading for a lot more red carpet pictures, including two that I just love - one has Angie whispering something in Brad’s ear and another is him whispering back in hers. I like to think that she’s saying, “You look so good in your tux!” and that he’s saying, “And you look ravishing in this dress!” and then they both whisper something inappropriate for me to write here but you can fill in your own blanks!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie showed their love – and their new movie – to the world’s media Monday as they stepped out arm-in-arm at the Cannes Film Festival.
The couple attended a press conference to discuss A Mighty Heart – in which she stars and he produces, through his Plan B production company.
Jolie admitted she had trepidations about taking on the project and the role of Mariane Pearl, whose husband, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, 38, was killed by Islamic militants in Pakistan in February 2002. (Actor and Oscar-winning Capote screenwriter Dan Futterman plays Daniel.) “I was very, very nervous to get it right,” said Jolie.
And the outcome? “Mariane seems to think we’ve done all right.”
Pitt, 43, and Jolie, 31, are staying at the exclusive Hotel du Cap, in a villa with their four children: Maddox, 5; Zahara, 2; Pax, 3; and Shiloh, who turns 1 this coming Sunday.
“We got here yesterday, and we had a beautiful day with our kids,” said Jolie, who flew in from the Czech Republic, where she is filming the movie Wanted, with Morgan Freeman. “We’ve been playing with them since the moment we landed, and we plan to go home to them as soon as we are done with this.”
As for her five-star hotel in France’s Cap d’Antibes. “It’s also a beautiful place, and we have an opportunity to enjoy it with our family and enjoy it as friends,” said Jolie.
Pitt said he was captivated by the Pearl story from the moment he started following it on CNN. “It was our goal to see this thing through,” said Pitt. “And to fight hatred.”
Jolie said that despite the serious nature of the film, which tracks Daniel’s kidnapping and his wife’s desperation to save him, she reamins able to smile in her downtime. “I am still capable of being silly and have fun,” she said.
At one point, Pitt humorously referred to his partner as “what’s-her-name” (when the press conference’s mediator unexpectedly asked him to comment on a question previously directed to Jolie). He also stressed his and her aim of working together to help improve the planet.
“As a father, too, I look at my kids and realize they will inherit this world,” said Pitt. “And we want to do everything we can to throw our weight in and make it a little bit better.
After the news gathering, PEOPLE asked Pitt how he was finding Cannes. “I’m enjoying it very much, man,” he replied.

I really like those pictures. Brad looked like he is a very loving and devoted partner and he actually has a lot of talents of his own and does not need to use Angelina as one of his promotional tool. I think that he is genuinely in love with Jolie. Look carefully at Jolie, I found that Jolie seldom put on lots of jewlery and make up. She is a great woman. I like her.

Maybe just maybe, they are repeating what my husband and I whispered to each other last week at a presentation we attended:
ME: I’ve got terrible wind, I’ve been farting like a trooper all morning.
HUSBAND: Me too, must have been those baked beans we ate last night.
Someone actually commented on how sweet we looked whispering sweet nothings to each other and NO we did not correct them!

Welcome too Ellen. Hope we can all meet although Tondogirl lives in Toronto and I live in Southern California. I’m glad some pinoys on this blog are Brangelina fans. I know there are some pinoys who also go on Just Jared.
People on some sites keep on giving negative comments how skinny Angie’s arms and legs are. I wrote back and said it is the intellect that Brad fell in love with. It is the imperfection that completes the wholeness and character of a person. I think if it is really love which I think it is, you don’t even notice how their arm looks, you just know they are loving arms that hold you and your kids. I am glad Brad is not that shallow as what some of the haters want to put him in.

I really admire and like this couple (Angelina especially - Brad is of course adorable, and they make beautiful babies together)! Don’t hate me for this - but I wish Angie would put on a little weight. She is soooo thin - especially her legs. I would like to sit her down and fatten her up a bit. I am aware that this is a painfully pro Brangalina site. But please royal couple, you have got to be kidding. Royals are suppose to embody class and dignity which neither of these individuals has. They are classless and their behavior on several occasions has proved this, so please do not elevate them to a status that by no means they could ever attain. They just happen to be very attractive and the camera presents that image, but there are many, many stupid and classless attractive people in Hollywood and these two are no exception.

Zbella, I don’t hate you for your suggestion. I am also wondering if a person gains weight, does the weight distribute to the arms and legs? I am not a health expert but I know if someone put on some pounds, the common area affected would be the hips, tummy and may be the face. Recently, JA (I know you don’t want this as an example) gained a few pounds that went to her breasts. True or not it looks like they are bigger than before. Also, if you see the Lara Croft movies, Angie has a good set of legs and is little skinny on the arms too. So I am not sure if that is possible to gain weight on the arms. I could be wrong.

Lucy (first of all, great name - same as my oldest!) I agree that different people gain in different areas. Lord knows Angelina gained beautifully when she was pregnant. I was pregnant at the same time (with my third) and I was quite envious! I have not seen the Lara Croft movies, but I have seen the trailers, and I remember she was in such amazing shape. I think her mother’s death and the stress of 4 children plus a career has had an effect on her weight. I hope she’s able to get some rest and relaxation soon. In the meantime - I’m certainly enjoying her Cannes appearence and will try to catch her on TV tonight.
