Angelina Jolie has hit out at rumours that she and Brad Pitt are a couple at war - describing him as her ideal man and perfect leader of their “tribe” of children.
And she believes he has saved her from life as a single mum.
Tomb Raider star Angelina, 32, says the love Brad has for adopted six-year-old son Maddox - often pictured sitting on his shoulders - leaves her with a lump in her throat.
“When I see the connection between Brad and Mad I’m close to tears, and, believe me, I don’t often cry,” she says.
And she was quick to quash rumours of a split with 43-year-old Brad, saying he was her ideal lover.
“He is certainly the best father one could wish for,” she says.
“The place he takes in the family really moves me as I was prepared, even resigned, to being a single mum. I didn’t expect him to invest so much time in the role of head of the family. He is one of those fathers who knows how to manage the bottles of milk, the little potties and all the rest. He is the ideal lover.”
As well as Maddox, Angelina and Brad have adopted Pax, three, Zahara, two and have their own one-year-old daughter Shiloh. Yet both want to extend what Angelina calls her “tribe”.
“Brad knows I want more children and it is his own desire to be at the head of a big family. He loves spending time with Mad, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh. I can always count on him to look after the children.
“I’d never live with a man who considers the education of his children as a burden. It is not an issue. One of us spontaneously offers aid to the other.”
Hollywood’s hottest couple have been dogged by rumours they are on the point of splitting for the last nine months, since her mum Marcheline Bartrand died from ovarian cancer.
Her attempts to cope with her grief were said to have triggered a series of rows, with Angelina allegedly throwing a glass of red wine over Brad during a bust-up in France last month.
But Angelina, who has previously been married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller and Hollywood star Billy Bob Thornton, is simply ignoring all the gossip.
“These rumours don’t affect you if you don’t pay attention to them,” she says. “Brad is the first man to understand me and give the impression we are a team. Honesty and trust are fundamental. He shares my point of view.
“The most important thing is being able to grow old together.”
Angelina, who met Brad on the set of Mr and Mrs Jones in 2005 when he was still married to Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, said there were problems when they first met.
“I recognise there were times when he wanted me to open up, but it is sometimes difficult to open yourself up to the person who shares your nights,” she says.
Three weeks ago the Sunday Mirror highlighted fears about Angelina’s health after her weight fell below seven stone on the film Wanted - a far cry from her voluptuous figure in the Lara Croft films which made her a worldwide sex-symbol. Angelina admitted she had lost a lot of weight but added that Brad was helping her deal with it.
“Yes of course (I have lost weight). Some days are exhausting, only I’m not able to collapse. I believe in pushing myself to the limits.
“Happily, I get enough sleep and Brad is always a great help in organising our day. Making sure that our children lead a normal life is always our principal aim. Even the drive to school can be complicated.
“We have staff, but we prefer to take on these types of jobs rather then leaving them to nannies.”
The couple spend as much time as they can in their £5million Malibu mansion but, with four children, it’s hard finding time for each other.
“Obviously your intimacy is not the same,” Angelina says. “You are always engrossed and often you collapse with exhaustion in the evening. But for the good working of your team you adapt. Our luck is that we learnt how to be a parent at the same time. I was able to relax for hours and watch Brad occupied with the children.
“Our tribe likes the idea of being in perpetual movement. Mad and Pax adore discovering new places. Sometimes Mad is impatient to know where we are going to be in a week’s time. It is something which makes me roar with laughter.”
Angelina says it is largely thanks to Brad that she is able to continue with her charity work, carrying on Princess Diana’s campaign to get landmines banned, as well as acting as an ambassador for children’s pressure group Unicef.
She says: “Thanks to my man, my children and my work for the UN I have reached a feeling of great fulfilment. It is as if I was born to lead this existence.”
Angelina was speaking to Gala Magazine in France, where she and Brad have been attending the Deauville Film Festival.

Thanks once again, Sherry! The design of AJ’s dress is such that you can see that her collarbone is not sticking out the way it does with women who have lost too much weight due to illness or extreme dieting. She is thin, and probably below her ideal weight even considering her naturally thin frame, but not unhealthily so. One more thing is that her skin doesn’t have that mottled, papery look that indicates malnutrition. I myself am overweight, but my forearms and especially my wrists have always been thin and boney. These are parts of the body that don’t “fatten up” with any sort of weight gain. Just my two cents’ worth. Best greetings to all –

Well, whether they marry or not is their business. There are couples who have never married and have remained in a relationship with each other for years, i.e. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. What matters is that Brad and Angie are happy, and they are a family.

I love these two so mush it is becoming an addiction. My only plea to Angie is that she should deal with her weight problem before it gets worse. Wow… These are really amazing pictures of them.
I’ve always adored Angelina Jolie even before her Tomb Raider fame. And to watch her gradually shed her rebellious ways and grow into this wonderful woman dedicated to helping people just leaves me speechless. The phrase, “Beautiful inside AND out” couldn’t be truer when describing this woman.
And my god, when combined with Brad Pitt? I don’t even know if a word exists to describe the beauty of this couple. They’re the closest thing to perfection we have in our time. I really hope they stay together for the rest of their lives. They look very in-love. And interviews with either of them shows how much they value each other, and not to mention how they always sound awed by the other’s personality.

Gosh , allaboutme. If you look at pics of Brad with all of his old girlfriends, including Gwyneth & Juliette Lewis, his hand was on all their tushes when he was with them. And Angelina is the only one he’s made a family with - a pretty qualitative commitment. They’re pretty much joined at the hip.
No, Angelina’s new hair color is not the same as Brad’s X - it’s the same as Brad’s. Angelina has a chocolate bronze color, X is a blonde, last time I looked (yesterday).

ligaya, you’re right. her hair color is not the same as jennifer aniston’s, but even if it was, it wouldn’t be a unique hair color. jennifer wouldn’t have been the first to have her kind of color. sheesh, people will pick on angelina about anything.
i do love angelina’s hair. it does have the veronica lake to it, as a lot of people have pointed out. and it is bronzy with some lighter highlights.

Thanks Ligaya, I just found out today after work that they arrived in NY Yesterday. At least, they were able to spend time together alone away from their kids. Little Bradley maybe on the way? I have a gut feeling that they will have biological child first before adopting another one at least they will know the sex of the child after she gives birth to their 2nd bio. & they will base their adopted child’s sex on their 2nd bio. right? I can’t wait for them to have another biological child, their genes are so perfect. God bless them.

This do looks so much better on Angie than the extentions did. Ashton Kutcher once said (unquote) the most connected couples dress in to complement each other. It is the husband’s job to dress in colors simular to his wife. The Jolie- Pitts definately pulled it off. They seem overjoyed to be together.

I don’t know how come Angelina and Brad want so many children. I mean, they have to actually raise these kids. And Angelina is so skinny, how come she does not eat. She looks so weak. And so many children, including her biological child, oh my goodness, I don’t know how she will manage.

Faryal, you’re sounding more like a troll. I don’t mean to be rude, but a lot of your posts are borderline nonsensical.
And how can you say Angelina does not eat??? Have you been reading tabloids? Yes, she’s skinny. This has been discussed so many times, but she’s always been thin. Don’t be judgmental. The woman already looks like she’s gaining a few pounds.
And it is Brad and Angie’s choice to have as many children as they want. And yes, they do actually have to raise the kids because they are the parents. They chose to be parents. There are actually parents out there who have 16 children, and their family lead a wonderful and well-structured life. Brad and Angie have the means.
And if you say you can’t be bothered about Angelina and Brad, then, why are you here?

BlessBrangelina, I don’t think you got sucked in. :) And if anything, you were quite polite to the other poster; you even showed concern. Heh, but in some ways, I guess I got sucked in, too since I replied to her, but her comments are clearly strange, contradictory, and well, to some extent derogatory. I don’t understand her presence in this site. The only sensible explanation is that she’s a troll, especially because the posts are nonsensical. And she’s only commented on this one post.
Isn’t it strange that even a fan site can be plagued by haters and trolls? Hmmm, and we’re supposed to be the obsessed ones??? Guess we should just try our best to ignore. But naturally, I will defend the Jolie-Pitts if need be :)

Maybe, my husband can take Angelina and her kid to The Netherlands, where his job offer is. That’s where we stayed before for a year.
