Angelina Jolie and Mia Farrow are shining examples
USA Today has a great article up comparing Angelina Jolie and Mia Farrow. It’s a perfect example of what great women they both are and it’s very inspiring.
The article shows that both women have famous roots starting with their parents, both have been awarded for their acting work, and both have had in-the-spotlight relationships. However, the biggest common thread is their work for third world countries and their desire to adopt children from impoverished areas of the world.
In regards to their blended families, Angelina is quoted as saying:
“My life is very full. I’m very proud when I see my children. … I’m very lucky.”
Meanwhile, Mia Farrow is quoted with similar feelings:
“There couldn’t be anything better than raising my children.”
Angelina is goodwill ambassador to the UNHCR; Mia is goodwill ambassador to UNICEF. Both recently visited and returned from Chad and both commented on the need for something to be done to help those suffering.
About the situation, Angelina said:
“It is always hard to see decent people, families, living in such difficult conditions, What is most upsetting is how long it is taking the international community to answer this crisis.”
And Mia was quoted:
“This is an extremely traumatized population and neglected,” Farrow said to the U.N. on Feb. 27, urging that an international peacekeeping force be sent to protect civilians in the region.
Both these women make me want to go out and do something great for someone right now.

These women have great hearts… it takes alot of love and will to do what they do.. they are both great example to hollywood A-lister who have all the means to help, but don’t.. God Bless them both!!

i agree with checkers there are a lot of hollywood stars with more money than angelina or mia, and hardly do enything yet they are praised and looked up too while angelina and mia are called weird for wanting to adopt children instead of trying to overpopulate the earth with only their bio children, besides both angelina and mia have given birth to at least one child of their own and iam glad they are being praised for having love for the children of the world.

Both these stars also remind me of Audrey Hepburn who became a UNICEF rep when she retired from filming, although she did not adopt her kids.

God Bless them both!
It’s not about who they are, it’s about what they do to make this world a better place.
But i guess the naysayers/ haters only focus on their weakness rather than their do goodings.
It takes a big heart and courage to do something like they do. So i really admire them for what they do to those who are less fortunate.

I think Mia Farrow gets way to little credit for her humanitarian work and for raising all these adopting children by herself mostly (forget Woody Allen, the pervert).
Angie and Mia should start a foundation for women thinking like them, and inspire others to do more.

ITA with Dee. Mia Farrow has received little
credit for her fine humanitarianism, but I am sure that she will be rewarded where it counts most. Mia and Angie are both very inspiring women.
