Angelina Jolie bedrest rumors
I know better than to put faith in tabloids - whether they’re in print or online - but due to a lack of other actual news since the Jolie-Pitt family is finally enjoying some privacy after their whirlwind time at Cannes, let’s talk about the newest rumor.
According to X17 Online, the latest is that we haven’t seen the couple lately because Angelina Jolie is currently on bedrest. The site states that Angie is due to give birth to the Jolie-Pitt twins next month and that she has been told to take it easy for the remaining weeks.
Again, let’s be clear - X17, while entertaining and while having great photos, is a tabloid and they never actually name any sources, so it’s quite likely that Brad, Angelina, and the kids are just enjoying a little bit of peace in their new French home, kicking up their feet by the pool and getting in some final time with just the six of them before the two new arrivals are born. Tabloids like to fill lulls in celebrity lives with dramatic stories so it’s very possible that they completely pulled this one out of thin air.
That being said, it’s not entirely impossible. While Angelina seemed in great spirits at Cannes for both films and didn’t seem uncomfortable (and she also said it’s not like it was hard work to sit around, answer questions, and wave at people), it’s not uncommon for women who are pregnant with twins to be on bedrest near the end of their pregnancy. Since we don’t have any solid confirmation of a due date we can assume that MAYBE Angelina is due in June and MAYBE she could be on bedrest, or at least a modified version of it - in other words, maybe not restricted to bed, literally, but that she needs to take it easy and not do anything even remotely strenuous.
Also, I have to say, with all the other crap rumors that people make up about Brad and Angelina, at least this one isn’t malicious or mean-spirited.
I do hope that she’s not on bedrest. I had to spend two days in the hospital about a month before my first daughter was born and my lord was it ever BORING. Angelina Jolie is such a free spirit, constantly doing things and taking care of everything that I can’t imagine her just lying around reading and watching television without eventually going stir crazy.
Hopefully we’ll hear some real, solid news soon and know what’s really going on with our favorite celebrity family!

Whenever there is no pics of them there can be all kind of fictions in tabloids. I refused to read them and always rely on the common sense and logical thought. Angie used the word ” a couple of months” regarding her due date. Twins are usually born earlier but June sounds too early. I even think she will be back to US to promote Wanted which is in middle of June if her condition allows it.

i get this feeling that she is really due in aug and like sunny mentioned, i also think that she’s going back to US to promote wanted too. i hope this bedrest condition is not true and if it is true that she’s due soon, i hope she’ll have a safe delivery.

You folks also forgot that June 5 which is next week is Angie’s 33rd birthday. So who knows where they will be. I also think she is not due until 8/8/08 a lucky Chinese date. But whenever her due date is, hope she has a safe delivery. I don’t believe tabs too like you Sherry. They exaggerate and dramatize a lot.

Hmm, can’t help thinking taking really easy would be a good thing for her at the moment. She seemed to get quite big quite quickly and she’s probably bigger again, now. That could be exhausting. Take care of you and yours, Ange and Brad!

Well, I wouldn’t really be surprised if this is true, just because most doctors will recommend taking it easy in the final months of multiple pregnancies. So, while I think X17 has just pulled this out of thin air, at least it’s a plausible guess this time.
But you’re right Sherry, she was up and about on her feet at Cannes just last week so it’s unlikely she would need to be completely bedridden by now, unless an unforeseen complication has arisen. Unfortunately that can be quite common with twins, but even in the worst case scenario (delivering in the next few weeks) she is already at least 28 weeks along. The outcomes for babies born at that stage are massively improved over those born at 24 weeks, but the real golden milestone is 34 weeks so I’m praying they won’t arrive until at least July.
Anyway, we all know that if she has to spend some time on bedrest she will at least be having a lot of tiny visitors, and Brad will be taking super good care of her!

X17 is full of It Angie said in the Interview in Cannes with the Australian Magazine that she was going to disappear for one to two months after Cannes and she is just living up to her words.You can read the Interview on souliejolie in the General Section,The Agency is just lying Brad and Angie has just beaten the paps by finding somewhere where they can’t take any pictures of them except in a helicopter so they came up with this lying excuse.

Just jared is reporting that several media outlets in France are stating that she has given birth to the twins in a Catholic clinic in France’s ix-en-Provence on Sunday, May 25. These are unconfirmed by the Jolie-Pitt camp…but ya never know.

I wouldn’t put it past them to have had to children. I keep hearing AJ saying “if I felt to pregnant they said I didn’t have to come”. I don’t think they would have said this unless she was really close to her due time. I say due time because she already had one c section and with this being twins I bet she had a scheduled c section again.

My birthday also May 25!!!! Would that it awesome if her twins are born on that date!!!
But rumours are rumours, we dont know anything until we hear any confirmations from them. In the mean time let’s wish Angie get all the rest she needed!!! I still can’t get over that they’ll have SIX children in the last 3 years they’re together. God bless them as always!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question Sherry, do Brad or Angelina have rep’s that speak for them and would put out some type of annoucement. It appears to me that alot of the stars are trying to take control of their lives and I can’t blame them. Yes, they are entertainers, but they should not have to be out there 24/7. Look Halle has not issued any pictures of her new baby. Where ever the JP’s are I just want them to be safe, healthy and happy. We the loyal Pittwatchers will wait and see.

the news is also out that they’ve named their daughters Isla Marcheline Jolie-Pitt and Amelie Jane Jolie-Pitt. Who knows if any of it is true.

I don’t think they would use the name Amelie as its a famous French film. I think they will choose names that mean something but that are not well known names. Although I know we’ll never guess, is it time for a guess the name post, Sherry? You know how good we are at discussing things !?

Just curious how is Amelie pronounced? I doubt anyone in the press would yet have name choices out there. Nobody ever previewed Shiloh as a name or Pax for that matter. They are going to keep it to themselves if they have even decided.

Jennifer Lopez was attending functions up to her eigth month I believe. And she disappeared for long periods inbetween, no one created drama to explain it.
Yes it’s possible for complications.
But like Sherry said, it’s more likely that X17 pulled this out of thin air, to keep the hits to their site coming! :(

Sherry, thanks for sounding out Amelie for us. I think both of these names we are hearing are beautiful. I for one hope that this rumor about the names is true.
Sherry questions please: This has happened twice to me and I am curious. In my e-mail are all of the current Pittwatch comments. A couple of weeks ago there was a real nasty one to me from some name that was new at Pittwatch and when I went into tell this person this is a peaceful website and get lost, I was not able to see the comment. Today there was a comment from our old commenter Faryal and when I went in to comment on her comment it is not there. Do you weed out comments that are not acceptable here in our peaceful website? Here, we all most of the time. express our different thoughts and ideas in a nice way. I have on many occasions changed my thought on a subject because someone here makes better sense then my idea.
