Angelina Jolie - Beyond Borders

by Sherry on August 1st, 2007

Since all is quiet on the PittWatch front - which is good because it means that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are likely enjoying a quiet vacation with their family! - I thought I would share a wonderful video with you.

I love most of the movies I’ve seen Angelina Jolie in, but one of my favorites is definitely Beyond Borders. I loved it enough to buy a copy of it and I’ve seen it several times, even though the subject matter is very tough to watch.

This Youtube member set scenes from the movie to the song Tears and Rain by James Blunt. It is fantastic and beautifully done. Be warned though - if you still haven’t seen this movie and would like to see it, please be aware that there is a very major spoiler right near the beginning of this video. Therefore, if you don’t want to know the end, don’t watch it until you’ve seen the movie!

(And if you haven’t seen it yet, you really truly should. If you happened to be a sponsor when I did the Blogathon for UNHCR, these are the kinds of people you may have helped.)

Enjoy! I will post more videos as the week goes by until we have some news!

    Thank you Sherry!!

as I mentioned thru email that my part of the donation has been fulfilled…

anways, such a fitting song, not only that I love James Blunt, but the movie was spectacular … I believe that truly Angie made this movie and has completely changed her life and never looked back at all, this was the epitome of her being, from adopting Maddox and for what she has truly become thus far. whoever posted this video really understood what it is like being around that and truly felt it with the lyrics and the music…

thank you for sharing and finding this video and IRMA you will enjoy the movie, but I suggest to have a box of kleenex by your side..

Hi Sherry. I did see this movie, and I liked it, even though it was difficult to watch at times (it certainly isn’t a light movie to watch). Too bad that subject matters like the one this movie tackled don’t do too hot in the box office. It would be good if more people had some idea what the volunteer workers go through and what they have to give up. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I think I’ll go see it again, but I’ll just make sure I’m not feeling a bit low when I do.

Thanks everybody, I will probably buy the dvd instead of renting it, I am a very sentimental person, it’s a must for me to have a box of tissue specially when the movie is drama & based on true story. Ange looks so young in this movie but she is much beautiful now that she has matured & living with Brad & have 4 kids. Love can do wonders.

Sherry i also have this movie. i got most of “Angie’s Movies, even those old one’s that she made when she was just starting. And yes i also did my donation. Irma you need to see this movie, A very heartwarming and ANGIE is very good in this. Also i said before if anyone had ever bought the book title ‘NOTES FROM MY TRAVEL’ This is Angie’s journal, and please do buy this book because all the proceeds goes to her humanitarian work. Thank you all lovely people

Gena, I will definitely going to see this movie & maybe look for the book ” NOTES FROM MY TRAVEL”, I’m off today from work & after my household chores, I will probably go out at Books A Million & look for this book. Anything for the name of charity I will do it.
By the way fans, at JJ they have this new thread #2899, she said, she had sightings of Brad, Ange & Shi at Nice, France, she didn’t take any pictures of them to give them privacy but she said it’s definitely them. Check this out, it was on July 29, that means they are still in France having a good time. All this time, they managed to be away from the limelights, I can’t blame them. French people probably gives more privacy to the celebrities unlike here in the US.
I miss them but that’s okay, they are having family time together which is good.

Sherry, I’ve also seen this film many times, I’d watch it over and over again everytime it is shown on tv (HBO Asia), and it is also one of my favorite films.

Thank you very much Sherry for all the news about the Jolie-Pitts…I only trust your site.

Thank you for posting this. I read the reviews and they were not good, however some of the best movies I have ever seen have received bad reviews. I just can’t trust those professionals who do reviews. I think the movie looks wonderful. I am adding it to my Netflix list!!!

Sorry to change the subject, however, I have been quite disturbed by all the press about their relationship falling apart. We have read all of this before, but this seems different this time. I never know what to believe. EVERY couple has arguments, but that doesn’t mean they are breaking up. Does ANYONE have the truth about what is going on? I would hate to see this relationship fail. Sherry, maybe you have read something reliable?

Just wondering how much truth there is in the information I’ve been reading, Are Brad and Angelina split up? I never read any negative info on your site.. Are they fighting? With this being a site for all the Jolie-Pitt gossip how come you don’t ever discuss such things. This kind of info shows their really human.

    Hi Folks,

I don’t trust tabloids and don’t like them, so I come here first!

Please anyone tell me it’s NOT ture! Angie and Brad can’t be calling it quits. It must be tough to have one’s relationships under public scrutiny and speculation 24/7, and being a blended family as well.
I wish them all the luck!
I hope they stick together, try to work things out and grow and learn. I hope they will be strong a unit first and foremost… put their couple-relationship TOP PRIORITY before anything else, as this will be their anchor in riding the tides of life.

Angie and Brad, I hope somehow you’ll read this. Best wishes to you both! I think you are so right for each other– together you bring out the best in each other!

    Cheers!

This is what Lainey has to say (Sherry & Lainey are the only ones I believe):

“As for those bottom-tier rags and the new round of reporting of a JoliePitt split, resulting in email inquiries - the story of course is rather convenient: Brad and Angelina have broken up but will stay together for the sake of their children. Which is a brilliant tabloid tactic – a built in escape valve… rather clever, non? The Pitts are currently underground after a family holiday in France. On the contrary to strife speculation however, whenever these two do go underground, it always ends up that they’ve been up to something and so there may actually even be news that will fuse Pitt Porn together even more.”

Visit http://www.laineygossip.com/Index.aspx and see 3 weeks comparison of tab rags contradicting themselves and each other.

More from Lainey: “You will recall however Us Weekly’s double feature from a few weeks back called Faux Biz (see below): a thorough examination of recent cover stories that attempt to break exclusive every 2 weeks with a new separation story – as of May 2007 the two have apparently broken up 7 times, been pregnant 13 times with 13 weddings, in between 10 Brad/Aniston reunions, though I have to say, my personal favourite is from February 2006, when Life & Style generated world wide headlines for their exclusive scoop that Tom and Katie were over and would never marry. Wishful thinking…but wrong”

A lot of people said they didn’t think this movie was a love story, but when you watch this clip, you realize that not only is it a love story, but it is a romantic and passionate one at that. I loved this movie. I have every one of Angelina’s movies, and some I have multiple copies of (Original Sin, my all-time favorite, Taking Lives and of course Mr. and Mrs. Smith).

I really hope it is not true that they are breaking up.Why don’t they put a stop to this bullcrap And sue those tabloids that print lies about there lives??Every week they are picking on them.I get the feeling that they do not make money unless they put the Joile -Pitt sad breaking up story on the front page.If they are people feeding the mags these stories it must be from the Pitt family.Jolie does not that many friends or family.

Gina, I’m with you on Original Sin - that was sooo sexy and strong & twisted all at once! Clive Owen is also a really good leading man opposite AJ because of his European demeanor - much like Antonio Banderas. Beyond Borders could have been better as a movie, but what it did for her life is unquestionable. Right on AJ - wherever you are in the world, be safe and know you are your OWN woman regardless of who your leading man is (in fantasy or real life!)

my suggestion to those fans worrying about brad and angie, maybe you should listen to brad’s pr person cindy guagenti-who said last week the tabloids are telling there usual lies and brad and angie are doing fine instead of reading life and style and the other trash magazines-i must say i find it strange that some fans would rather believe a tabloid than what brad pr person has said many, many times before, but i guess some people want to believe in the worst -sad

Sorry, I don’t want to offend anybody, but please, please don’t pay attention to rags!!! Don’t listen to Star, the Inquirer, US Weekly, Life & Style, the Post Chronicle, etc. They are tabloids, which means, they have very little credibility. I’m not even sure if some of the people on here who are asking about the credibility of those supposed rumors are even fans. I think some are haters who are just trying to stir up trouble. Pathetic because that says a lot more about their fascination with the JPs than our own. I mean, why bother wasting one’s time on the people one hates??

Karla, the reason it is not being discussed here is probably because the source of the rumor is unreliable! That kind of news is unreliable considering the bloody source. Yes, of course, they’re human, but is it necessary to pollute this site when the story has not been validated. Why turn this site into a big gossip blog?? Why does it have to be sensational?

The reason’s it’s probably not being posted on here is because that kind of sensationalism shouldn’t have to infect an otherwise positive site for the Jolie-Pitts. It’s enough that the rags spew such distasteful, uncorroborated garbage.

No matter how much the rags churn out about the Jolie-Pitts, we’re still just scratching the surface of their lives. We have no ins & outs as to what happens in their personal lives.

If you want to feed into the frenzy of this kinda news, visit the usual sites, like socialitelife.com. That particular blog actually sites Star mag.

Oh, and I’m with Ligaya. I would only believe Lainey, Sherry, and maybe even People. On magazine stands, People’s the only one that doesn’t churn out the same kind of garbage (wedding? or split?) about the Jolie-Pitts. However, each week, expect the other rags to have the same exhausting headline.

And trust Lainey because she’s usually been right on the nose with everything. And even occasionally, she’ll have the scoop weeks (or even months) ahead of everybody else out there. And as Ligaya already posted, her most recent article essentially assures the JP fans that all’s well with the family. So, let’s everybody just calm down.

I hope others will actually take the time to read through the some of the comments before posting the same question about those ugly rumors.

i was just at the souliejolie forums, and i guess brad and angelina were just spotted at a party a few days ago and then again after her flying lessons. somebody even posted pics in another thread. i hope this will mellow down the worried fans.

Nothing that I’ve learned about the Pitts’ family values supports the speculation that they would tell the tabloid/legitimate media their family business. Where’s the proof to this? The reliable sources? It’s too bad people repeat the tabloids’ lies and help spread them. This doesn’t seem like something a Brangelina fan would do.

And this is the first time I’ve heard that Angelina has few friends. Just because she doesn’t go partying like the Terrible Three (Lindsay/Britney/Paris) or show up at the trendy restaurants, it doesn’t mean she’s friendless. She has friends from decades ago who she met while filming, numerous friends from her humanitarian work, and friends like me who DEEPLY ADMIRE what she stands for.

I believe I read “Notes from My Travels” first, then saw “Beyond Borders”… it was really emotional, but especially the end. I hate tragic endings no matter how they help/hinder the story; they always get to me.

Angie has vulnerability and strength all in one that draws you in.

I have seen “Beyond Borders” several times! I don’t understand why it ‘bombed.’ It’s a beautiful and sad movie. It was also the first time I saw Clive Owen.
