Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt in Himba Ceremony
The National Ledger is at it again with a story from Life & Style saying that Brad and Angelina have been married in a tradional Himba ceremony - but that they will marry “legally” when they get back to the U.S.
About Himba, according to Life & Style:
L&S reports its an ancient tribe of Namibian nomads, whose weddings are often performed by tribal chieftains or without a leader at all. The bride wears an ekori, a headdress made of leather or goatskin, and jewelry made of iron and shells. Later, the groom’s family anoints her with butterfat from a cow.
I would venture to say that there are some people around here who know enough to correct this - if you do, as always, we would love to hear from you!

If they were married this way, which I doubt, it would be more symbolic than legal, in terms of the Namibian law. The Himbas do live a very ancient form of existence and what is described in the article sounds very accurate to the way they live their lives. Imagine the cavemen in the 21st century.

The story sounds to me like a journalist decided to just make it up, having read up on Namibian traditional culture.

if the news did not come from angelina her self, or brad, or brad’ publicist or People magazine, then i won’t buy it.
geez… they just could never stop this weeding rumor, couldn’t they?
