Angelina Jolie doesn’t mind lack of Globes

by Sherry on January 9th, 2008

Angelina Jolie not disappointed over Golden Globes cancellationWhile at the Critics’ Choice Awards, Angelina Jolie was asked how she would spend the evening of the 13th since she wouldn’t be walking the red carpet for the Golden Globes. She doesn’t seem to be too distraught over it. She had this to say:

“I’m not too disappointed. I’ll stay home with my kids. It’s all right. I support the writers and what they’re doing.”

It’s good to have other fun plans when the red carpet falls through! Family time is always a good thing.

As for A Mighty Heart, Angelina had a great, positive, and upbeat outlook despite the fact that the movie was not a blockbuster at the box office:

“This film means a lot to me, so it’s just to have the film mentioned, and hopefully maybe that will get one or two more people to see it — [that] would mean a lot. We are very proud of it.”

Well said!

i honestly don’t mind either because although i’ll miss the red carpet pictures/video, it’s helping emphasize the writers strike. I just hope a deal will be struck before the Oscars.
just FYI, Brad and George won fav. on-screen match-up at the People’s Choice awards. A Mighty Heart was nom., for best Indie Film, but Becoming Jane won. I don’t know if Brad and George had some kind of video response, because i saw one that Joaquin Phoneix had made. did anyone watch the show?

I don’t blame her, we know she likes to spend time with her family.

I loved the movie A Mighty Heart. I felt that Angie did an excellent job. I wish she had done more network promo for the film. It came out at a bad time. During the late summer people only want fluff.

That’s good, her family first. They should be proud of the AMH movie, they made the movie not for the money but for the people to see & tell the story. She will have plenty of time to rest this year, by Summer time, Brad & her will have to do a lot of Red Carpet to promote their movies till Nov. I’m glad they can rest 7 spend more time with their kids, I hope, she is pregnant, it looks like she is. God bless them.

Immediate Box Office is not always the whole story. AMH has gone on to triple it’s budget if you include dvd rentals and sales.

**Debra: she did do a lot of interviews:- GMA, Daily Show and I think Today show too. Then there was all the magazine, newspaper and internet interviews. She worked very hard to promote this film and ended up being called hypocritical for her efforts because her team asked journalists to talk about the film and ask LESS personal questions.
