Angelina Jolie, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh hit New Orleans
Well, we already saw Brad Pitt on his bike, riding around New Orleans. As it turns out, the rest of this family was not far behind. Angelina Jolie was spotted walking with three of their children, enjoying some nice warm weather in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
She was with Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh and they made a quick stop at a little store for their favorite treat, some Cheetos for the kids.
It is so great to see her walking around with her family again. Apparently they only had two security guards with them, something that isn’t possible in other places where they’re swarmed by cameras and screaming people. There’s something special about New Orleans that somehow seems to allow them to wander about like everyday people - no wonder they love it there so much!

I love how normal they get to be, but I would really want to give Angie a hand if I was there. It’s hard keeping three in tow, especially when they are sleepy, and you are wearing a long gown, which I cannot imagine wearing walking about with the kids! God bless her!

It is great seeing them out and about again. There must be something which prevented them from doing so in their home in France. Too many papz outside of their chateau? The papz there are more aggressive and so it is not safe for them to walk?
It is really nice that Angie and Brad always try to have the whole family together in one place when either of them is working. There is one question though which has been hanging in my mind for a long time to which I have no clear answer. Maddox must be in Year 1 or 2 (?), and with them moving around constantly, how do they manage his education continuity? Do they have a special programme designed for children with travelling parents and so Madd can have home education when he is not attending school? I don’t know much about the US/European schooling system so I don’t know the answer. I guess they must have a special programme in place. I’m just asking this question out of my curiosity with no criticism intended.

Love it! It is nice to see her getting out with the kids. There are pics on JJB 6 with Brad on a bike carrying a folder with Obama’s pic. He is dressed in white shirt and black slacks. He looks Good!!!!

Wow, Ange looks way slimmer here than she did at the Changeling premiere (not trying to make a negative comment, just noticing how much differance a camera angle and lights can make). Guess the naturally slim are just lucky…sigh.
I’m so happy to see her and the kids again. Shiloh is so much bigger and so beautiful. Pax looks great. And it’s cute to see Zahara’s a thumbsucker.

Thanks for all the gorgeous pics and video clips, Sherry. Gosh, so much going on so fast - can’t keep up. All the kids are too adorable. Looks like Pax is starting a new fashion - I like it!
When I was growing up in the Philippines a long, long time ago, everyone breastfed - including in public. Only the well-off could afford to buy milk and bottle-feed. Here, bottle-feeding was seen as more up-to-date, and I didn’t breast-feed. Now people know the benefits of breast-feeding again.
Anyway, one of my younger friends breastfed her son, and she lost an enormous amount of weight. For a hot minute there, I considered becoming pregnant again to lose weight - then I came to my senses, lol. So Angie’s right about breastfeeding, running after 4 kids under seven, and genetics giving her her figure back.

I like to watch the pics of the JPs here way much better then over at JustJared. They have more pics, but it’s not worth it- the comments there are just horrible! Good for Angie she doesn’t read how mean some people can be about her family without even knowing them!

It is so wonderful to see Shi out with her mum and two siblings. She has grown a lot and looks more and more like daddy Brad. It´s also very touching to see Pax and Zahara holding hands. That just proves that they love each other a lot (as siblings of course). They all look so healthy and happy that it almost breaks my heart. Let´s hope that the whole family can enjoy this special time in the States before returning to Europe some time later this week. God bless the Jolie-PItt family!!!

Cute family, Shiloh’s crocs and the buddy system is just too adorable for words.
Just to add, Angie is NOT the only one who lost the weight in a timely fashion! Gwen, is about the same size as Angie right now and she gave birth 2-3 weeks AFTER Angie.
No one is raising an eyebrow about her!
Just as no one has seen Zuma with Kingston’s numerous recent outings, I don’t “hear” about Zuma is NOT included! Where’s Zuma? Well we can see he’s NOT as loved as much as Kingston, obviously!

Nice to see Angie & the older kids out & about in New Orleans. I was surprised that they didn’t go back to Germany right after NY. They really love NO, they walk around there without so many papz around. The kids are all growing so fast, Pax is so cute, Shi & Z. The kids are all beautiful.

Great looking family as always, but the long dress made me laugh just a little. New Orleans streets are just a tad bit too funky to be dragging a nice garment across them, lol! But she does look gorgeous and it’s good to have them in back in town enjoying the slightly cooler weather! :o)

Off topic: Fan from Vietnam, thinking about you and your husband today. You mentioned that he works/worked for AIG. I see that the hearings are starting today and I pray that you and your husband will be okay.
My feelings toward Brad and Angie feeling more free in NOLA is because those poor people there are just trying to survive. They will not rush and form crowds around the Jolie-Pitts. We have seen other pictures from last year when they were at functions in the 9th ward and no one was crowding them. If any thing they probably have much love and respect for the Jolie-Pitts. These people have been forgotten by our government and it is a disgrace. I also read that there are still approx. 300 people still missing from Hurricane Ike in Texas. What is that all about? We must take whatever means necessary to locate these people and put them and their families to rest. I will be 70 next year and never in my life have I seen so much going wrong as there is right now.

I knew they would go to NOLA after NY. This is their “home.” Plus, Brad has to catchup on MIR project and probably help with Obama campaign (indirectly). They’ll go back to Germany at week’s end so Brad can start filming I.B.
I’m from CA, but I love it that they’re not dependent on the HW scene to stay famous.
Someone commented about the long black dress. FYI: they were just going to the corner store, which is steps away from their residence. I would wear a long black gown too if I wasn’t going for a hike. What’s more important is how she dresses the kids: comfortable and warm. Definitely a sign of a good mom who doesn’t care what strangers think.

Someone mention about nursing - it is the natural way to lose that pregnancy weight! Third world moms do it, and it’s back in now. I think the tabs are giving Angie a hard time about the way she raises her kids because they don’t get it. She’s supposed to be a sexpot superstar yet she’s nursing, lugging 6 kids around, etc. Trust me, if I had the money and resources I would do the same things. But more kudos to her for being able to balance everything and enjoying it.

MaryAnn, there seems to be more wrong going on now because of easier and faster access to info (internet, global connection). The world is getting smaller, and so if something bad news happen, more will hear about it, even if it happens far away. News and rumors fly at a faster rate. The advantage is the more people know about such plights as the hurricane victims, the more will try to help. The disadvantage is the government thinks there is already help from the public for the victims and therefore is less likely to actively help. I don’t think there is more wrong in the world than in the past, just more misinformation and misunderstanding because of the easy access to information.

I sometimes I go to other sites mainly because of the pictures, but I can not believe how mean some people can be, especially when they direct their comments to the children! This site is like a breath of fresh air.
It is so lovely to see Mama Angie and the kids enjoying the “Big Easy”. What can I say, she looks gorgeous no matter what she’s wearing! You can put her in a sack with no make-up on and she would still look beautiful. And the children are so sweet. Shiloh is more like Brad, and how great it is to see Pax and Z holding hands! I also like that the kids are dressed simply.

Is it just me? I’m feeling kind of sad about Maddox, Pax and Zahara not getting as much love as Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox. Oh I know it’s unconscious and it’s not everybody, and the reasons biological children are favored over adopted children, and white over multiracial – there are genetic and social reasons. It’s hard because it seems preferences are ‘natural’ and people can’t help who they fall in love with. So it’s nothing to guilt trip about. But check it out, under Pittwatch’s popular searches: 1. Shiloh, 2. The JPs as a family, 3. Shiloh pics, 10. Shi again. We’re not paying as much attention to Mad, Pax and Zee – they don’t show up in the popular searches at all as individuals, just as part of the whole family – which Shi is in too. It’s not Shi’s fault. I think this is what Angelina meant when she felt she had to fight for her adopted children – she didn’t want to favor her biological child more than them. Of course she got a lot of flack for that because people misunderstood.
The tabs are malicious and consciously mean, and crop photos so only Shiloh shows and not her brothers and sister. Like how they tell a story about the Jolie Pitts and leave out the fact that Zahara was there too, for example, shopping in Cannes. I think Mary Ann and Kari saw examples of this. Actually, I’d prefer that the kids not be in the tabs – but if they are going to be shown, IMO they should all be treated equally. Maddox had one cover (before Shi was born), I think Shiloh has had 2 covers. Someone at another blog even commented how weird it was to put a baby on the cover. Shiloh had a multi-page spread celebrating her 2nd birthday. As far as I know, Maddox, Pax and Zahara haven’t gotten the same/equal treatment on their birthdays.
I wish everybody treated all the kids the way Angelina and Brad treat them – with equal love, no matter blood ties and color.

Fan from Vietnam. Yesterday I read an article in which Angelina said Maddox was being home schooled (maybe Pax and Zahara too?). I don’t remember the publication, but I’m pretty sure it was reliable. And either before or at Cannes, Angelina mentioned they had 3 people come to help – one taught arts and crafts, the Vietnamese person tutored Pax in Vietnamese, and there was a Congolese (I’m pretty sure) woman too. And before that, Angelina said that she wanted to make sure the kids learned about their birth countries, culture and language.
I think the rock solid source of the children’s stability is their intact family who are together all the time with both their parents, even if in different locations. (There are many professions where this kind of roaming lifestyle is the norm, including the military, diplomats, consultants, business people, performers. In fact, the children of the military who have an absent parent need extensive counseling – for which the JPs donated half a million dollars.) I just found out Clint Eastwood also takes his family with him on location shoots most of the time. Ewan McGregor, Dustin Hoffman and others do the same. Child actors are in and out of their regular schools all the time. To compensate, they have tutors on the set.
I think school is also an important source of stability. I think the reason Angelina and Brad are having the kids homeschooled is that the paps and starstruck onlookers made it impossible for the kids to go to school. They had a good plan choosing the Lycee Francais, which is the same throughout the world, for Maddox so that it would be familiar even if in different places. I think it worked in New Orleans, but remember the swarms of paps and people in New York and Prague? I also read that Maddox had enrolled in a local school near the Chateau Miraval and that he was whisked between home and school. But maybe after the pap invasion, the JPs decided to hunker down at the chateau.

Thanks, Ligaya, for answering my question. I guessed so because I heard home schooling is allowed in the US. This is helpful for parents like Brad and Angie. In my country, it is not allowed and all kids from the age of 6 have to go to school.
Mary Ann, thanks for your post. I hope we will be OK. I understand your feelings and I guess you are right. My parents said exactly the same thing; they believe the world seems to have become more chaotic and there seems to have been more wrong doing and evils than the world they lived in a few decades ago.

Considering the source, take this with a grain of salt – but for once it seems credible as a news report. (I read from another source that when Brad was spotted bicycling with the Obama-decorated notebook, he was heading for a private meeting (with MIR board members/staff?) at one of Antoine’s (oldest and arguably the best restaurant in NOLA, I highly recommend it) private rooms.

Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation has now raised enough money to build 90 homes in Hurricane Katrina-ravaged New Orleans - nearing its goal of financing 150 homes - the actor announced at a charity reception Monday. As of late August, the foundation had funds to build 84 houses, but at Monday’s reception, Pitt and his board members announced six more new homes are now in the works. They also unveiled a donation from the American Idol Foundation.
After the reception, Pitt dined with board members at Delmonico’s — one of Emeril’s restaurants– which is about two blocks from the foundation’s new headquarters.

Leaving most of their brood back home, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were spotted out and about with sons Pax, 4, and Maddox, 7, on Tuesday (October 7). The “Mr and Mrs Smith” co-star couple were paying a visit to the Lower Ninth Ward Housing project in New Orleans - making sure that everything’s going according to plan.
