Angelina Jolie still holding in top five at box office

Angelina Jolie in top five at box office - twice

Even while Angelina Jolie waits around the hospital for her babies, she’s still racking up big points at the box office.

Although Hancock with Will Smith blew away the competition with a number one slot and $107.3 million over five days for the holiday weekend, Wanted is hanging in there at third place, with Kung Fu Panda in fifth place, even after five weeks in theaters.

That’s pretty darn good. Everyone expected Hancock to do exceptionally well when it opened (I’m dying to see it myself), but third is still excellent for a second week, especially when it already did far better than the executives were hoping for, and for an animated film to still be in the top five after over a month of playing? That’s impressive.

Go Angelina! Your movies are rocking!

Since there is no new AJ and Brad news to discuss I would like to offer my congrats to the beautiful Nicole Kidman on the birth of a daughter. I am a big fan of Nicole Kidman, and am so very happy for her and hubby Keith. Waiting on pins and needles like the rest of you for the twins. Has anyone seen her heard of whether or not Brads folks have arrived? I know James is there, but the Grandparents arrival would really mean the births are imminent.

I wish I could join in on the Wanted bandwagon, but I still haven’t been able to see it :( too many things that need doing. I do hope to see it next weekend, and judging from my reactions to the trailer, I’m pretty sure I’m going to enjoy it.

On the topic of Nicole, I’m really happy for her and Keith.

I loved “Wanted” and “Kung Fu Panda”! I thought both films were clever and interesting. My only criticism? Not enough Angie in either of them.

Great news for Angie, really happy for her. $154.5m worldwide in 2weeks is great for Wanted. It’s already made back more than double it’s cost.

And KFP is over $300m already. :D

My husband and I just saw “Wanted.” I want to give a shout out to James McAvoy, one of my faves, who looks utterly hot bare-chested in this flick. Somebody’s been at the gym! A trailer for “Burn After Reading” ran right before “Wanted,” so I got to see Brad’s antics as well. FYI, this movie is very violent, and even a couple of guys in the theater audience covered their eyes at a few scenes. But Angie is mesmerizing and it’s damn near impossible to watch anyone but her when she is on screen. She and James together made a great team.

I really don’t plan on seeing anymore of Will Smith’s so-called blockbusters because they are beginning to look the same movie after movie after movie, same plot with his loud voice in the finale. He wants to be king of the box office every summer with the same brand of movie. I guess he took a reduced pay check for “The Pursuit of H.” which is a better plot than this type summer movies he makes for box office take. Now that is boring. Okay, that is my personal opinion.

I am looking forward to watching Burn After reading, it seems like a good comedy movie for GC & Brad. I watched Pursuit of Happiness starring Will Smith, I like it, his son also played as his son in the movie. I don’t plan on watching Hancock though. How I wish I can watch ‘Wanted” again but my husband watched it with me the first time so I don’t think he will come for the second time, He likes it & I like it a lot, anyway, I will just wait for the dvd to come out, I will buy extra copy for my daughter.
    God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
