Angelina Jolie takes to the skies with a flying lesson

Brad Pitt wasn’t the only thrill seeker, riding around on his motorcycle in Hollywood yesterday (though he may have gotten more thrills than he expected when a crazy fan stuck a camera LITERALLY into his face!). Angelina Jolie was spotted taking a flying lesson in Burbank, California today!
Angie was flying a Cirrus SR-22 single engine plane. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen or heard of her flying, it must have been nice for her to get back in the cockpit for awhile!
Also, JustJared had a report from the dance class that Zahara and Shiloh attended the other day, with a quote from another mother who was there at the same time. She said:
“Zahara and Shiloh were so cute — they were holding hands and sitting side-by-side. Zahara was a little more coordinated, and she was trying to help Shiloh. She was taking on the big-sister role! [Angie] was so encouraging to them — you could see the light in her eyes when she was watching. I was trying not to stare, but she’s just so gorgeous in person, even more than on the big screen.”
That’s not the first time I’ve heard someone say that Angelina Jolie is even more beautiful in person than on the screen. That’s got to be a little intimidating because heaven knows she’s drop-dead gorgeous in her movies and appearances!

I think there is a pilot sitting next to her. She has to have lessons every once in awhile to keep her license. She’s probably happy she’s back in L.A. and has the time these days.
It makes me happy when REAL people say nice things about Angelina. They always do. It’s the rag mags and their “sources” who say the bad things.

How nice to see her flying again! I also love what the other mother at the dance class said about her. People who have met her and Brad have only good things to say about them, how down to earth and humble they are. Another common observation by those who have met Angie is that she is more beautiful in person. I have a very good friend in LA who used to work at Warner Bros. She told me she has seen a lot of actors and actresses, but the most beautiful, in her opinion, is Angelina Jolie, because she is even lovelier in person!
gena, i think even if you have a flying license, you kinda have to take more lessons for the upgrade of your license because it has like this grading level when you’re a pilot (i think – not sure) just like brad the last time we saw him, he was a having flying lessons even if he already has a license.

I thought maybe you could post this youtube interview with Angelina and two middle school kids on one of your flashback posts. The interview really shows how much she loves kids and how honest she is with them. It also helps that that kids were very professional themselves!

I love what that other mom said about Angie. I also love that she apparently didn’t get starstruck over the fact that Zahara and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt were attending her daughter’s dance class (at least I’d assume her child attending the class is a girl, as most kids who attend dance classes are girls) and also apparently was very respectful of the J-Ps and didn’t bother them.

What a lovely comment by the other mother at the dance studio. She provided an adorable image for us of Shi & Z at their first day of class. I still get a chuckle from the photos of Shi & Z in the parking garage. Shi’s expressions are priceless.

Good to see Angie taking a flying lesson after a long break. She sure wants to keep her pilot´s license and therefore goes flying now that the whole gang is in LA. That mother´s story of the girls was cute. It´s easy to imagine Zahara and Shiloh sitting side-by-side and holding hands. I remember reading somewhere that after Shi was born Zee was jealous. But that´s understandable. Now those sisters are best friends doing fun things together. Their favorite passtime sure is teasing their older brothers and taking care of their baby brother and sister. Hard to imagine that the twins will turn one this Sunday (July 12). How fast the time flies. God bless the JPs 4ever!

I come from a flying family. My Mom was still flying at 90 but then her legs gave out and she had to retire. My brother was an airline pilot also. You have to do touch and goes on a regular basis to keep your license and pilots are always taking lessons. They like to keep up to date and if you get a new plane you have to get checked out in it by an instructor. No, I don’t fly as I can’t even navigate well in a car!
Glad they having a chance to do the things that they enjoy, Brad with his bikes and Angie’s love of flying. Read something this morning on People that Moneyball might still be made. This is unexpected down time for Brad. That was nice of that women giving us an inside viewpoint of the girls dance class. I hope we get to see a picture of Knox and Vivi soon. Just want to see how big they are getting.
Thank you so much Newcomer for those links to those kids’ interviews with Angie and Brad! I was really enjoyed and was very impressed with their great questions and professionalism! Amazing kids. They asked very relevant questions and Angie really answered them eloquently. My favorite part was that when she was asked about what legacy she wanted to leave and her answer was “to be a good mom” to her children. Great to see Angie flying. Hearing that mom say something sweet about Angie and the girls was very comforting – they are just living their lives as normally as they possibly can. It’s just great to see them out since its really been forever! Twins bday in 2 days! Hope they’ve got something fun planned. Have a great weekend everyone!

Since getting her private license, she still has to fly with an instructor every 2 years to obtain her required biannual flight review required by the FAA.
She’s a busy lady and I’m amazed that she has the time. Flying with an instructor is probably a good idea in the busy airspace around the LA area.
She has her pilot’s license. Now she can advance her skill level to an instrument rating, commercial rating. etc. I hear Brad is learning to fly as well.
