    i just saw it.
my god! it’s cool! i can’t wait to see it.
i love it when angie hold a gun. she’s just so hot!

  2. Molly says:

Thanks Sherry! Love the trailer. I for one wish she would make more of this kind of films. Anyway, she and Brad contribute so much to charity that it’s really ok to do more commercial movies like MMS 2 for example. Then balance it out with their preferred type of movies with “substance”.

But based on one interview this year, Brad said that he doesn’t really care much for doing films that will make money. He prefers those that speak to him. And I noticed that Angie seems to be always like this. Read that she initially turn down Tomb Raider, MMS and Gia. Movie execs really have to press and convince her to reconsider especially on Gia.

So keeping my fingers crossed that they will bend this preference some times.

    worth waiting for…

  9. lemon227 says:

That movie is SMOKIN!! Can’t wait to see it.

  10. gigi says:

I just saw the Wanted trailer. I have all of her movies, except for A Mighty Heart, and I love all of them, but I must say Wanted is the kind of movie this lady was meant for. And the fact that she is left-handed makes her that much more cooler and sexier. Love the expression on her face when she meets McAvoy’s character for the first time in the store and kills the other assassin.

  11. lori says:

Molly, what is the message of Beowulf that “spoke to her”? Where is the substance film in it? I would think it would be more of the theme of Tomb Raider, which I enjoyed by the way, and did very well especially in the DVD sales. It appears to me they make different types of movies, just like Babel did wonders for Brad and was totally different from Troy.

I do think that the studios want the films that make money, or they wouldn’t be paying $14 and $20 million dollars to actors just for films that “speak” to them. That is why all the travelling around the world at different premieres to promote the films.

    Thanks Sherry for the link.

  13. irma says:

A very anticipated movie for 2008, awesome, awesome movie, the trailer speaks volume, quality & lots of actions. This is one good movie to look forward to next year.

  14. ligaya says:

(I thought this post belonged here.)

    O. M. G. Charlie, I think I’m love with you. Thanks for the link! Exciting adrenaline rush. I love the cast – these are some of my favorite actors. Angelina’s got a lot of great scenes – the image of her in black lying back on the train’s roof as it speeds through a tunnel…It is sooo sexy. So is the photo of her leaning out of her red sportscar (Spyder?) shooting the flame thrower – I’d love to have that as a poster. I want posters of Angelina from all her movies.

Can’t wait – impatient – good thing Beowulf will be out soon. 3D! IMAX!

  15. gena says:

THANK YOU SHERRY, HELLO EVERYONE. IGNORE LORI’S COMMENTS , IT SERVE NO PURPOSE. THIS IS A GOOD ONE . BESIDE ANGIE , MORGAN FREEMAN IS A GOOD ACTOR.

  16. irma says:

Good morning everyone. This movie will be a blockbuster, wide released & the trailer itself will make the people eager to see it. Four more months of waiting, that’s really too long, it just makes you excited to see it. I’m off from work but needs to clean the house & go to commissary later, buy foods for my g-sons, they will be home these weekend. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

  17. anamanzana says:

This movie seems to have the same “formula” as Gone in 60 seconds, which had AJ in the role of the tough woman with actually very little acting or screen time. She is so much more talented and it would be great to see her in roles that fully utilize her range & depth WITH action, like we saw in MMS or Tomb Raider. I predict that it will come from Plan B productions, and Jolie Pitt will be able to find artistic & production expression in a way that will rock the industry!

(hee, my previous comment – which was approved on another thread – is in moderation)

Did someone already say the Wanted trailer plays in front of American Gangster starting tomorrow?

There’s a contest for a VIP trip to London’s premiere. Also cool downloads, photo gallery, and smokin’ shells. Along with that driving, pulsating, tension/drama-heightening music.

    official site: http://www.wantedmovie.com/

Dirty Harry Angelina! That’s what one of the shots reminded me of. And come to think of it, Clint & Angelina have a lot in common.

Was surfing yesterday and overwhelming majority of fanboys (fangirls too) are excited about Wanted and Angelina – some embarassingly so.

  19. quiet no more says:

i dont know if you any of you have a myspace…. but they change the front “skin” to promote new upcoming movies or albums or tv shows…. and themovie Wanted is up! I think this movie will probably have heavy promotion! which means lots of angie interviews! red carpet pictures and such

  20. Deana says:

Good Lord! I had to watch that twice in a row! That movie looks badass! I think I know what I’m doing for halloween next year. *GRIN*

  21. Molly says:

I hear you gena but I’ll say this once.

Lori, you’re so focused on their choices of films and other matters. You’re no fans of them but watch their films and follow them intensely. You go over everything with a fine-tooth comb. You’re fast to say some films are flops. What are you trying to prove, that they are the reasons for some movies not doing well in the box office? And in the case of Beowulf, you’re anticipating that it’ll do good. So, you’re saying that it ain’t the kind of films that’s close to her heart?

You just proved my point that AMH is hardly a flop. It was meant to be a serious movie with a wonderful message but will cater to a certain audience only. Films like MMS is more commercial in nature and will appeal to a lot of people.

They have their preferences. Luckily, they didn’t say that that’s all they’ll ever do. They might do some commercial types because they like the characters, the directors, or can’t say no too many times to the film execs. There are so many variables involved. Their good intentions are evident to all except a few who will take every opportunity to nitpick. In the latter case, even if all they do are indie low-budget ones with humanitarian themes oozing out, they’ll still be criticized in some way.

As I said in a previous thread to ligaya, when Brad and Angie make any kind of statement to any query, they really need to have a lawyer draw out an iron-clad thesis just to shut critics up. My point is, they’re damned if they do and likewise if not. It seems only the JPs, especially Angie, is subjected to this catch-22. Good thing they live their lives without a second thought to what naysayers say.

BTW, don’t bother to respond. In deference to other fans, I don’t wish for Pittwatch to turn into other sites. If you need to vent, go to FF and the likes, if you’re not already a cardholder.
Like all the others, I’m not interested in what you have to say.

And no, this site doesn’t demand that you kowtow to BA or gush over them all the time. It’s just we the fans can detect nuances miles away. An ignore button sure will come in handy sometimes.

  22. dianad1968 says:

i see lori is here again trying to disrupt the board with her passive-aggressive comments. we must try to ignore her at all costs.

  23. dianad1968 says:

    molly very well said.

  24. ligaya says:

(hee, hee – my 2 posts are in moderation, including 1 that was approved in another thread ;-) )

OK, we know about the Wanted trailer. Today, I came across the Kung Fu Panda teaser trailer: http://animatie.blog.nl/trailers/2007/10/27/exclusief-kung-fu-panda-trailer. This will play in front of the Bee movie. official website: http://www.kungfupanda.com/

I’m really looking forward to this movie. What an incredible cast: besides Our Girl (cool still of Master Tigress: http://imdb.com/gallery/ss/0441773/Ss/0441773/004cg.jpg.html?path=gallery&path_key=0441773), there’s Jack Black, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Clarke Duncan, Ian McShane (Deadwood) & Seth Rogen (Knocked Up), and a bunch of under-employed Asian American actors.

I’ve loved Jack Black since High Fidelity – seen all his movies, want him to be one of my boyfriends. And pandas are my favorite animals, after sea otters.

Back in ancient times (the 1970s), before Michelle Yeoh/Jet Li/Jackie Chan, I was a shotokan karate student – I want to take it up again after my husband retires in 3 years.

  25. Molly says:

Deja vu eh, dianad1968 :) ?! Really, Brad was just quoted to say that they turn down scripts by the dozens literally every week due to the “commercial” theme. People are dying for them to do these films. They have been so strong to do so. Testament to their character and strength.

  26. Tixinhajolie says:

we can see why i love angie!!

  27. Jolie Fan says:

I agree with gigi. AJ is a passionate actress and does amazing in the big dramas, but she’s made for movies like Wanted. She’s so hard core, this is HER element! I can’t wait!!

  28. ligaya says:

popsugar is reporting “[Julie Roberts is] teaming back up with Clive Owen (um, hot) for Duplicity, a drama about a couple who are rival spies but team up for a heist. Sounds a little bit reminiscent of Mr and Mrs Smith, but I’m sure Clive and Julia will put their own spin on the story.”

Nothing against Julia, but I seem to remember that she was with Benjamin Bratt when she hooked up with husband Danny(?) Moder – who just happened to be married at the time. Why isn’t she excoriated as being a homewrecker? Especially as this was her (at least) 2nd offense – Keifer Sutherland was married with children, I believe, when they got engaged. Then Julia left him at the altar & ran away with his best man Jason Patric. Nice. So why the double-standard & hypocritical horrible treatment of Jolie, and not Julia? My theory is the ‘high school theory.’ Julia is popular cheerleader/prom queen, and Angelina is Stephen King’s Carrie.

Oh, and I think Julia would qualify as poster child for serial co-star dater more than Angelina. To be fair, it seems half of co-stars date each other.

  29. Neela says:

Brad and Angie are referred to as Hollywood Royalty. The Hollywood usually goes first to make it clear that it is just a celebrity term, not monarchical. There’s nothing literal about it, and I think everyone’s smart enough to realize that they don’t actually come from an actual monarchical blood line. Sheesh. Even though they are referred to as a Royal Couple, it’s just a showbiz tag, nothing more. It’s just a label, like Golden couple to indicate that they are a powerful and famous couple. Why is this even discussed? Lori, you’re usually okay, but you do tend to take things too literally and just kinda nitpick a bit, and over something as silly as a label, a label not really perpetuated or initiated by the fans, but by showbiz news and gossip blogs.

  30. Neela says:

Oops, I think I posted the preceding comment on the wrong post.

  31. Diana L says:

We watched A Mighty Heart last evening. I’ve always loved Angie, but OMG! She is really a wonderful actress. The movie was just great, with wonderful editing, but Angie just took my breath away.

  32. Lucy says:

Molly and Ligaya, great posts. Angie is really versatile. She can do drama, action, and comedy like MMS. So does Brad since he said that he regretted doing “The Mexican”, “Spy Game” and some other movie I can’t even remember. He said he made these movies (being afraid not to have offers) and be unemployed. I thought “Spy Game” was pretty cool but I guess he was not happy with that. I also like him in “Sleepers.” It is an old movie but very mesmerizing as he appeared as a prosecuting attorney. Anyway, I could hardly wait to see this movie. Angie is good at this type of movie and yes, once in a while she does “commercial, box office” movies too. Ligaya, napakatalino mo naman, I read your other posts from the previous threads. Go Angie!

  33. Molly says:

AMH is doing great in rentals! Up there with the commercial movies! So proud of our girl.

ligaya, That’s a Dodge Viper, Angelina is hanging out of. It’s about 90k and I suppose kinda fast. :) But I’d rather have a Corvette Z06 anyday, and about 15k less. I’m a car girl, in case anybody didn’t know. I live about 25 mins from where the Corvette is made, and the National Corvette Musuem.

  35. ligaya says:

Deana, that’s great! I love going to car museums, The fabulous Blackhawk Automobile Museum is close to where I live. I’ve gone to lowrider & art car exhibits. In my dreams, I have fleets of vintage Bugs, modern Bugs, Mini-Coopers, Smart Cars and Miatas. My brother gave me a ride in his red Ferrarri (!!!), the one indulgence in his life. I thought he was CRAZY – and Irresponsible – driving more than 100 mph on city roads, but he’s my brother so I just kept hoping we wouldn’t get in an accident and kill/maim anyone or ourselves. He gave my mom a ride & she kept praying her rosary the whole time.

  36. angela says:

i let my older brother see the trailer of wanted and he was like, wow! when will that movie come out??!
    lol!

    i’m so excited. it’s a must see!

  37. mavi says:

Hey! what about CHEVY CAMARO! well that’s my hell racing BABE! how about it girls WANNA RACE??

  38. Susan says:

Would love to see Brad and Angie do another Mr and Mrs Smith. Any word on a sequel? They would also be great in a romantic comedy….no guns necessary

  39. ligaya says:

Today Yahoo said Wanted is the most searched trailer. Yay! I’m going to see it & American Gangster tomorrow – heck, I might even see it twice this weekend!

  40. ligaya says:

These jezebel posters love AMH too:

“i watched a mighty heart and cried non-stop. throughout the movie, i wished that danny came back..”

“I just watched it last night. :( When they popped the video into the VCR, I was just like PLEASE PLEASE DON’T SHOW ANYTHING!!! and then they didn’t….and then when ‘Mariane’ found out that he was dead and walked into her room and lost it….I was sobbing.”

These were posts on an article about a Glamour party celebrating Mariane Pearl (wrote a column about women internationally for Glamour) and sex slaves who’d freed themselves & became activists on the issue. Article is written in hipster ironic tone which is odd in conjunction with such a serious issue. Great pic of Mariane & the activists.

I must be a bad girl – in moderation again.

  42. ligaya says:

    (wow, I’m posting a lot – hope it’s OK)

To continue with the double-standard & WRONGFUL persecution of Angelina as a ‘homewrecker’ topic, Seinfeld’s doing publicity for his movie reminded me he met his much younger wife on her HONEYMOON with her ex-. So has he been excoriated in the tabs as a ‘homewrecker’ as severely and for as long as Ange? NO. This is sexist too.

  43. Bijou says:

She is going to win the oscar. Angie and Brad are the royal couple.

  44. Belle says:

Beowolf is based on a poem/epic written in old English dating back to 1100AD, is it not? Its also a fantastic story. It should speak to us all…

…or have I misunderstood something on this thread? By the way, James McAvoy is from Drumchapel in Glasgow, Scotland (quite a poor area). I bet he never predicted his life would turn out like this – he must be pinching himself…

  45. Mary Ann says:

I have tried real hard to keep quiet about “the homewrecker” tab given to Angie. But this is my opinion. Everyone who keeps up with star news knew that Brad Pitt wanted to be a father from the minute he married Jennifer. Years went on and I started to wonder if there was a medical problem, but then I started thinking that she was only interested in her career. So Brad met Angie, who loves children and he fell in love with Madd and I believe that he might have decided that life was to short to keep on hoping for something that might not happen with Jen. Maybe Jen wishes she could go back and do it all over again. Brad and Angie and their children are happy and this is why I love seeing and reading about them.

  46. maxie says:

    WOW, great trailer.
Is the bullet a wave or a particle? A little quantum physics in the film.

  47. ligaya says:

Exactly, Mary Ann. There are so many things wrong with hanging the ‘homewrecker’ jacket on Angelina that it’s hard to know where to start. I feel there’s a lot hypocritical standards being applied, and people have just gotten into bullying & flogging Angie.

You’ve seen a small part of the vicious, malicious, hater world out there. I’ve seen a LOT of it – that’s how I decided to become kind of a one-woman truth squad. I don’t care if people hate Angelina, that’s fine. Just don’t spread lies and pollute the atmosphere so her message about refugees is clouded.
