  She may be no stranger to taking risks, but Angelina Jolie’s latest accomplishment is making her blush.

  “I got a little shy,” Jolie said Saturday, on the topic of seeing herself in a simulated nude scene for her new computer-animated movie Beowulf.

  “I was really surprised that I felt that exposed,” Jolie, 32, said at a press confreence for the film in Los Angeles.

  “There are certain moments where I felt actually shy – and called home, just to explain that the fun movie that I had done that was digital animation was, in fact, a little different than [what] we expected,” she says.

  Jolie – who in her role as a temptress killer lizard is painted gold but animated without clothes – explains, “I didn’t expect ourselves to come out as much. I didn’t expect it to feel as real, and so because of especially the type of character I play, it was kind of funny at first.”

  Asked which body part she likes the most, Jolie answered with a laugh, “I love my tail.”

  Worked While Pregnant

  The PG-13-rated Beowulf, based on the Old English epic poem, opens Nov. 16 and also stars Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich. Directed by Robert Zemeckis (Who Killed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump and The Polar Express), it is actually Jolie’s third animated film, after Shark Tale and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

  Jolie said she completed her two-and-a-half days on Beowulf while carrying daughter Shiloh, now 1.

  “I was three months pregnant,” Jolie said. “You wouldn’t know. We did the mapping of my body before. It was a pleasure.”

  As for balancing her movie career and family, Jolie said, “You just try to balance, and try not to work too much, and take turns [with your partner when it comes to] working.”

  Despite her very small part, I think the movie execs will put Angie front and center in the promotion of Beowulf. They need Angie’s sheer star power to draw in the crowds for this particular remake. Smart move. Seems like all the major video game makers will capitalize on Angie’s name as well to promote the game version.

  I guess she really has changed since she has had children as a lot of people do. She certainly wasn’t “shy” when making Gia! I know a lot of celebs that aren’t as free with nude scenes since married or having kids. It does change their perspective on things.

  Thanks sherry for the gorgeous pics,she’s so beautiful-brad is a lucky man-janeth, the media buzz is starting in the US about angie being pregnant also,especially when she was on the red carpet last tuesday and she didn’t deny or confirm,she usually denies the pregnancy rumors if they’re not true-the next few months should be exciting.

  Ange’s smiles tell you something, if she is pregnant I wouldn’t be surprised, I think she needs to have another baby specially when she is in her 30’s & Brad is going to be 44 next month. Biological or adopted, they treat their children equal, they are very proud parents , they are so amazing. I hope, to see the video of the interview later. My husband & I will watch Beuwolf when it comes out in theater near our home. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

  Poor Angie either people are saying she’s too thin and are saying she’s anorexic or they’re saying she’s pregnant. Maybe she’s just at a healthy weight since her life has calmed down a bit. Regardless seems like the poor girl can’t escape rumors no matter what she does.

  Only Angelina can look so fab in those simple outfits! She can rock a whit shirt, grey trousers and a pair of pumps! (okay, the louboutin ones) but, still, she needs no more items to make herself the centre on the attention!

  Good morning everyone. Just finished watching Good Morning America with Angie’s interview & Anthony Hopkins was there too, it was funny because the interviewer asked about their plans on Thanksgiving day, she got plans but she is not cooking, & he even added that Angie is related to Hillary Clinton, they just laugh at it. Beowulf will be a good movie to watch on Nov. 16, I will check my work schedule so I can watch it with my husband.

  she is unbelievably beautiful. and without much makeup. only angie can pull that off.
  i saw AMH this weekend, and i am sure she will be nominated for GG and Ocsar awards. her acting was superb. it wasn’t so much the dialogue, but the anguish you saw on her face. there were times i forgot i was watching angie. i know for a lot of people the scene that moves them is when she found out Danny had died and she started screaming. but for me, it was directly after that when she came back outside with tears streaming down her face, and was trying to convince herself and the others that probably danny had not been killed. that it may have been another false report. it was heartwrenching to watch. by this time i was blubbering.

  I don’t think so, Janeth (interesting name). The interviewer was joking there would be one more place at the JP Thanksgiving table, and explained he meant Hilary Clinton. Recent articles said Barack Obama is related to Brad Pitt and Dick Cheney (ew), and that Hilary Clinton is related to Angelina Jolie. Clinton & Obama are presidential candidates in the U.S., in case you don’t know. Is English your 2nd language?

  Did anyone get the W magazine yet? I got one for myself and a few for my friends. Angelina looks absolutely gorgeous, of course. The other 9 covers are: Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Katie Holmes, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, and of course X. The “artist” Richard Prince took a stack of photos from Getty Images - which I think means that none of these actors/singers actually posed for this feature - and ‘autographed’ them. They’re witty, I’ll give them that.

  I couldn’t believe Angelina & X would authorize this stunt. Maybe they didn’t. W just bought the rights from Getty. I used to think W was a high class magazine; I didn’t think it would stoop to tabloids’ tactics of exploiting Angelina & X to sell their magazine. But I guess $$$ trumps taste. Yuck.

  i think W magazines intention was to feature the “artist” and all forms of art since im pretty sure its their art issue.

  Richard Prince’s work is mostly a restaging of photographs already taken there is a retrospective on his career at the Guggenhiem. Thesephotos of said actresses and actors are part of that body of work not something created for W.

  It’s more of a commentary on art than it is an exploitaton of these actresses

  She said she only spent 2 1/2 days of filming on the movie so I take it she isn’t the main Star of the film. Of course most of the promotions will be about her for she is the one who the press will be mainly be interested in.

  I stand corrected - kinda. :-) It’s not Richard Prince’s fault that I don’t know a thing about him. ;-) I didn’t knock Prince for exploiting Angie & X. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough - I was knocking W for using Ange & X. Their publicity exploited the Angelina vs. X factor; it was only a couple of days ago that they said there were 9 covers, and I never saw info about the other covers until I read the mag itself.

  I feel better that “These photos of said actresses and actors are part of that body of work not something created for W.” I feel it gives it more legitimacy as art. W gave me the wrong idea when it said “Richard Prince had his way with a stack of papparazzi photos, creating nine unique covers for this month’s issue.”

  Hello JP fans. Ligaya, I also bought the W mag with Angie’s photo from the Cannes Film Festival which is the art issue. I haven’t seen the inside, had been too busy. I also missed GMA since I slept in today due to the time change, my body cannot get used to it. Anyway, saw new RC pictures from JJ and read already shallow comments too. I like this site because I feel like it is more family.

  Yeah, that screaming scene wasn’t what did it for me too. It was the other scene you mentioned plus when she was saying goodbye to the team that helped out. That catch in her voice was so powerful. We know that she doesn’t cry much, so that makes it even more unbelievable.

  You’re welcome ligaya. Meant to say something to you for awhile but as you remember, this site has been sidetracked. ^^

  I absolutely love the comments of all the fans. We all express ourselves uniquely. I think we show a bit of ourselves in the way we post. Some people are more reserved while others are more gregarious and wear their hearts on their sleeves. The variety is what makes this site so interesting. If we all post the same way, boy, that would be super boring.

  Personally, I find your dedication to the JPs very touching and endearing. I like to think that they feel the same way too. Why else would they spend more time than most other celebrities in signing autographs and posing for photos. All firsthand accounts of fans who have met them are all unanimous in saying that they are so sweet and appreciative of the fans. Also, I think the reason fans are very fierce in defending them is because of the unfair and orchestrated smear campaign.

  BTW, you’re one great example of the saying that the 50s is the new 40s!

  I read in Phil. Star entertainment news that 2 of the leading Philippine reporters asked Angelina questions & she graciously answered each of the questions & at the end the reporters said, Angelina didn’t act like a big star she is really very nice & sweet. No wonder she is loved all over the world either by fans or reporters. Oh one of the reporters was Baby K. Jimenez remember her ? ( Filipino fans )way back during Susan Roces & Amalia Fuentes era.
