  i don´t know what to think of this. perhaps i am old-fashioned but posing in underware at the age of 16…i don´t know. they show a young girl half naked and thats not really serious in my eyes. they´re not so tacky, they are ok, but i wouldn´t have done that in this age, nor would i allow my daughter to do so with 16.
  she was already a beauty back then, but i think she got much more beautiful with age.

  Most models are 16 to 24 years old and then they are done unless they are exceptional then they could last longer. She is modeling bath suits not underwear, and it is a photo shoot that’s what happens at photo shoots. I remember what I was like at 16 and I sure didn’t think of myself as a child, and I doubt AJ did (and I am only 5yrs older then her). We may have been wrong, but I still think I was more mature then the 16yr old’s today (we weren’t as sheltered). When did everyone get so stiff. We need to get back some of the 60’s vibes and less of the 50’s.

  What’s a big deal with Angie modeling a bathing suit at age 16? So many more younger ones are modeling bathing suits but never been ridiculed. I am sure, she was with her mom or an agent when she did those photo shoots. That was 16 years ago, what’s the hoopla?

  forget sexy at 16, angelina has said in interviews she was sexually active at 14. she was already cutting herself by this time. (an emo before her time). so forget the “innocence” thing or that she is somehow corrupted.

  all those experiences add up to who she is today. i admire her honesty and courage and these video clips show her maturity at even that age. i know i couldn’t have handled myself as well at that age.

  these days, teenagers doing something even worse than this for publicity and fame.
  ali lohan wore leopard bikini in the beach and she was 13 at that time and it was not a photo shoot for something.
  anyway, angie is already stunning. her lips were already pouty and her boobs were already big. (for those who said her lips are not real…)
  and yeah, she’s getting more beautiful with age. motherhood softened her.

  angelina has always been a non-conformist. her upbringing was unusual in a sense that her late mom has been more tolerant of practices that other parents might have totally prohibited (such as accommodating and therefore encouraging angelina’s boyfriend to live with them). i think it’s in poor taste for the magazine and the photographer to publish this now and sensationalize this.

  angelina has always been honest and i don’t think this will embarass her. however, it is disturbing that they release this now and skew the public’s opinion of her — i wouldn’t be shocked if they then release teen pics of wholesome jennifer aniston then say how the pitt family is upset with angelina’s racy past.

  I did not see the video here but I saw photos from ACCESS Hollywood the other night that will be out from “In Touch” magazine. The photographer was an old guy who asked Angie for another photoshoot and Angie turned him down because she said she is going to go into the acting business.

  I have seen girls younger than 16 dressing more provacatively, and as someone says, she was modeling a swimsuit. Are we buying into the In Touch garbage now re: Angie? I see ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that photo shoot, she was not nude, for God’s sake. We as fans, need to chill.

  I also saw the video on AH, and she was such a beautiful and charming young lady. You can also see that Angie was quite shy, as people who have met her have reported. I still think she is, but she has matured into a very accomplished and articulate young woman. Pictures of her and her family always bring a smile to my face. I admire her immensely.

  personaly, i think this kind of pictures is stupid, without interest, except for perverts! she looks like a little girl! i don’t understand thing like this.

  but i can understand angelina did that: when you’re young, you’re abble to do everything to realize your dreams…

  she made a lot of sexy pictures in her life (when she was older than 16!) and those pics looked like art, but at age of 16 i think this kind of pics are inappropriated.

  I only saw that second video just now, and I have to admit that while of course it is common that 16-year-olds are models and are acting se*ual (I´m trying to avoid moderation!, hence the “star”), I still find it very disturbing. I totally agree with Sherry.
  16-year olds have the body of grown-ups, but are certainly mentally not there yet. However, I´ve read that AJ was allowed to live with her boy-friend under her mother´s roof at only 14. Now, how freaky to think about is that??!

  The pictures are not bad, 16 year olds have been flaunting around on beaches and at pools in bikinis for years and in my opinion, I always found that disturbing. It is like having on bra and panties, but they call it swimwear. *rolls eyes* Not that I agree with any child trying to look and act sexy before his or her time.

  Yes, it’s a little strange when you see her posing for the camera, but then again, that’s what you do when you model. Most of the models these days are that age anywaya. Besides, she’s not modeling underwear!

  I think Angelina does come off as very vampish for her young age in these photographs, and it is a little disturbing. The photo-shoot comes off as a bit like soft-porn photo-shoot (not that I’ve seen one) actually. But I guess she was just sensually precocious and she has certainly grown into a much more balanced seeming individual. Yeah, it is a little bit disturbing the way they get her to act like such a woman at so young.

  She was already so self-possessed! I think she understood what she was doing, and knew what she wanted.

  And now it seems, at least from our perspective, that she has achieved all her dreams. Strength of will–bravo!

  Of course she’s never been perfect–but who wants that?–I think she’s a pretty good hero for a little girl. She’s always been one of mine, anyway. Thanks so much for sharing this, Sherry.

  yeah i’m 15 and i model so it’s not weird to see someone that young act like that while modeling. But i personally shy away from acting sexy cuz i don’t people at my church seeing “sexy” pictures of me.

  ABED - What exactly are you even talking about? I wasn’t saying anything bad about Angelina Jolie specifically. My issue is with the modeling world in general. I have two young daughters and I don’t like *anything* that makes girls older and sexier. I have the same issue with beauty pageants where little 8-year-old girls are dressed like tiny adults with more makeup than Tammy Faye Baker.

  Just because I don’t agree with that sort of thing doesn’t make me hypocritical. And regardless of whether they’ve been around for a long time, this was the first time I had seen them. I hate to disappoint you but I don’t need a tabloid to tell me how I feel or think. I can disagree with the photoshoot for what it is and still be a huge Angelina Jolie fan.

  By the way, if you’re going to debate something, it holds a lot more water if you use a real email address, but apparently you didn’t. Oh well.

  Everyone else - Thanks for discussing it. Like I said, I think my problem with it is just because I wouldn’t want to see my daughters modeling like that. It’s nothing against Angie herself, obviously, it’s just the whole modeling world. I’m glad she moved onto acting instead!

  I have no interest in watching the video that all of sudden has come to light. I think this is just another example of the magazines trying to put Angelina Jolie down. Why I have no idea, this women lives her life, trying real hard to do alot of good for another people. This is a women who is in the middle of her pregancy and she flies around the world to investigate the situation in Iraq. This is a very dangerous place to go too, but I guess she felt she must in order to help these displaced peoples. I hope she and Brad pay no attention to this and all the other garbage written about them.

  I always remind myself that Angie is the second generation in show business in her family, maybe more. Her family was/is a good deal more sophisticated than mine (to whom mini skirts were scandalous) probably why there are no models in my family. That said 16 -21 are the ages when most people who are going into that profession begin. I wish I had taken a picture in a bathing suit when I was 16 LOL. I think from there she decided to go into acting another sophisticated business IMO. She looked innocent to me in the pictures and very lovely. I am glad she decided to become an Actress. I did not find anything scandalous about it.

  This, to me, is just another media ploy because the “wedding” scoops failed. Angelina is far more beautiful now than at 16! What woman wouldn’t want to be able to be that!?!

  Plus, at 66, I can tell you that I saw far more questionable stuff from “celebs” than these photos (and she wasn’t a “celeb” yet really.)

  This whole thing is really lame in my mind.

  Angie back then is trying to make a name for herself to be able to survive her mom and the situation she was in (neglected by her father financially). I would do the same, whatever it takes to survive my love one. She grew up to be a woman with a lot of compassion for the needy… a lot of love for the poor and oppressed…kudos to her “Mom.” This is the kind of woman she had become. As she had said before, “she is her mom’s daughter,” like Marcheline Betrand, she cares a lot for people around her. With her mom’s motherly love, this is how she had become..now..

  “Gotta wonder where some folks have been. Sexing up 16, 14, 12 year olds girls is nowhere anything new, It’s been happening to underage models for the runway, print ads/editorial shoots, commercials since at least the middle of last century. Remember 12 year old Brooke Shields & her Calvin Klein jeans? (”Nothing gets between me and my Calvin Kleins.”) I don’t like it (or Bratz dolls), but I don’t condemn the girls doing their job - I condemn the people who make the products, make the ads, and run the media. And their parents, mostly mothers, who approved their line of work. (On the other hand, girls have a lot fewer professional options than guys.) And I condemn us consumers who buy those products because of those girls’ images.

  The more people criticize Angie the more I admire her. I don’t see anything wrong with her modeling at 16 in a bathing suit, at least she didn’t pose naked. Tabloids can’t find any more dirt about Angie so they decided to talk about her modeling years 16 years ago. That’s desperation on Tabloids part. Why don’t they write about her humanitarian side? Double standard. Journalism should be fair not biased towards Angie most specially. I don’t know if tabloids are consider journalism but I guess in the lowest term.   OutaTouch with nothing better to do than sensationalise a photoshoot and CAPITALISE Angie’s name to get notice. Wasn’t Drew Barrymore also sexual at a young age, along with all the alcohol consumption? Am glad someone already mentioned Brook Shields.

  I saw this mag at the airport today and was glad that as of 0800hours no one was biting. Most consumers it seemed were more interested in People and OK this week. Neither of which had B&A on it’s cover, that I could see from my quick glance.

  It doesn’t bother me in the least — you can see plenty of 16-yo in bikinis on any beach so it’s not something that is limited to the advertising and media spheres. That just happens to be the age when gals start modeling. There’s a difference between vamping it up on the street and vamping it up on camera. In an advert or still, no one knows how old you are. We’re a culture obsessed with youth, but that’s not the fault of the young.
