Another view of the Jolie-Pitt French getaway

by Sherry on May 2nd, 2008

Jolie-Pitt home in France

Here’s a better photo of the absolutely gorgeous house where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are staying in the French Riviera. That house is just breathtaking. As far as size goes, it is way more than I would ever need, but the architectural style is definitely my cup of tea.

Angelina Jolie in France

Now here’s a discussion. Here’s a photo of Angelina Jolie sitting outside on the deck, apparently enjoying a little al fresco moment. Maybe she’s having a cup of tea, maybe one of the kids is having a snack outdoors. We’re too far away to see - which is good because it means that the cameras are far away too and not right up in everyone’s face. However, do you feel like it invades too much privacy? After all it’s one thing to see the house they’re staying in, but it’s something a little different to see Angie sitting out on the private property.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen them on private property and on the one hand it’s nice to peek in on a little slice of life, but on the other hand, how weird would it be for one of us to go out on our porch for a cup of coffee or to read a book while knowing that somewhere someone was taking pictures?

What do you think?

I feel like it is intrusive. It seems that all of the agencies are there now. My worry is they will stay in the house and never get out. Being a prisoner in a multimillion dollar house is still being a prisoner. When they took the weekend trips when they were there before Shiloh, there were never photos except at the airport. These people look like they are in the water and/or in trees. They do deserve better and they do deserve some privacy.

After a bit, they never took photos at the house while Angelina was filming last year. Hopefully, they will do the same, but the pregnancy is probably going to make it harder for them to find respite from the papparazzi. It is a shame really.

It does feel like we are kind of invading her privacy..
Does it kind of look like she may be holding Shiloh.. I can’t tell if it is a big coffee cup or the top of Shiloh’s head that I am seeing… If you look real close at about her chin level it appears there is something in front of her based on how the umbrella pole isn’t as narrow as above and below.

Lou - I can’t even tell where they could actually be. If you look at this photo it shows where the house is in relation to the rest of the surrounding area. They’re either REALLY far away with a super amazing lens or else they really are hanging out in trees.

I dont believe thats Shiloh sitting with her. if you blow the pic up its just her all alone with her arm straight down a her side, I feel she isnt sitting but standing, arm being the key to it all. none of us sit with are arm extended straight.

as for it being an invasion, absolutely 100%.

I wish them to be left alone, they arent media whores like Paris and the like but the little devil that sits on my shoulder wishs to see alot more of them.

I think what makes them so perfect is we dont get to see and hear about every minute (tiny, small) detail of their day to day lives, only what they choose to share.

Sherry, if you go to the Splash site, you can see the boats in the water in the last of the series there and that top picture here are the tops of the sails, so definetly a water shot. They must have either blown the photo up or had a mega telephoto lens. I don’t know about the photo with Angelina though. Trees is probably more like it. It is crazy.

But I too also feel that guilt with wanting to see them, it just better when they are in more public surroundings, not their home. I agree that they are very private though. We go weeks without pictures, so the ones we see are all the more special. I would just not prefer this type. Thanks for the site.

They deserve some peace and privacy. All that said, I still can’t help but look at the pictures. *hangs head in shame*

I love knowing were the brangelina group is but agree that we really don’t need pictures of them in their private time. I don’t know if I could handle never having any down time. Leave them alone for goodness sake. We only want to know where they are and that they are OK.

For goodness sake, they need down time like we all do. If someone took a picture of me relaxing on my deck, I would feel invaded. Give them some peace, paps, they are a family just like all of us and need some private time.

Wow, I had never realized until now, how powerful those zoom lenses must be. So THAT’S how we get to see these totally crazy shots of celebs picking their noses and such. It must be very hard to be able to ’sense’ when one of those cameras/cameramen/women are around you. Now I have to say there is ONE sense in which my heart goes out to the rich and famous: They rightfully must have to be paranoid about being watched ALL THE TIME. How freggin’ awful.

I am guilty wanting to see & know where the Jolie-Pitt’s are, part of me said thanks to the papz & part of me said enough is enough but I’m glad to see even from a distance we get to see a glimpse of what’s going on around their lives specially that they are out of the country. At least we know the pictures were taken from a distance, the papz could have been in the tree or in a house closed to the area.
The house is huge & really so beautiful even the view is spectacular. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

Even if the picture is taken from a distance, it is still invasion of privacy. I don’t need to see them in their homes, the paps are not doing this on my name as a fan. It is a shame, and we the fans are creating the market for them to be hunted like this. None of us will want this for our lives why do it to them in the name that you miss them.

I feel guilty too. I like checking out this site to know what the Jolie-Pitts are doing.

I think the most ironic sentence in the post would be “Images used with the permission of Splash News Online”. Wouldn’t it be nice to have Brad and Angie’s permission too?

hello everybody. i had a computer problem; i miss you and the JP too! nice to see that they enjoy a great time in a really beautiful part of the world!

i think that the new pics on justjared are really too intrusive: these pics are private times of their life: i suppose that they don’t want to share it with the entire world! like davesmother said, we don’t need to see those pics. sherry, it’s not my site, but i answer you : please, don’t put these pics here: i think it’s really a contribution to the bad job of papz.

it’s a good thing that the pics were taken from a long distance, but i think it would be really disturbing to know that some people are looking at you all the time!

i love this family so much, i think they merit the respect and the peace they need during this special time of their life: they work hard to help the others, they can take a break.

i’m happy if the rumors are true: it’s great for them if they stay there till the baby’s birth. maybe the new member ‘ll come sooner than we think…

the papz can take some pics of them, but they are not too close (remember in prague: the F***ing papz were very close).

hmmmm i agree that those pics invade their privacy, but they are taken because of the fans.
    one thought though:
why not marry in this gorgeou villa? this villa really is breathtaking and would be a gorgeous place to get married! well…..perhaps not on the balcony though;)

I must admit these kind of pictures make me uncomfortable, imagining Brad and Angelina’s reaction when they spot the glint of a photographers lens in the distance and know that their private moment has been captured. At least when they’re out in public they know that there are going to be photographers and will have ‘prepared’ for it however they like to (say, wearing something nice or running a comb through their hair, although they always seem to look pretty good without trying!) but photographing them in their own home takes it to another level. God, it would make you paranoid.

This sort of reminds me of the sad incident where a paparazzo snapped Angelina bathing the children through a window in Prague :/ Photographing her on the balcony of her home isn’t quite as bad as photographing the bathroom, but it’s a fine line. Anything inside their property is probably too far. Even those pictures of the children playing the backyard were a little uncomfortable, as much as I love to see the family. It’s a high price to pay.

i saw another set of photos of them with shi crying (i think) and being placed in a seat and she’s too cute. i´m feeling a little guilty looking at those pics because i know it should be a private family time but instead i’m enjoying looking at their photos.
    shame on me. :(

what a gorgeous villa! so happy for them and always wish the best for them.
As for the picture, we are part of the problem.
If you dont want others do it on you, dont do it on others. I still reflect on it. I try to avoid those
    pictures, but not easy!!

[…] of their own for now. Also, it’s possible that word got out to them that they’re being photographed on the balconies and are looking for somewhere with a bit more privacy in the form of bushes and […]

  • Mary Ann

I also feel like this is intrusive. Can’t even image how it must feel. I am sure by now they know these pictures are out there. The ones by the helicopter are okay because they are out and about knowing pictures will be taken. But this is not right spying on them when they are at home. Once before I mentioned that when they are in New Orleans that they are left alone and I wondered what the difference is. Maybe this could be a topic for discussion at some point. Any way if the pap’s are hanging out in trees, I hope they all fall down.

fan - it’s not really as simple as saying “don’t look at them and complain”. The problem is with the taking of the pictures in the first place, and me (or one person) choosing to avoid them won’t extinguish their existence.

It’s true that fans fuel the demand for photographs of celebrities, but as many others above have expressed, there is a line and some pictures cross it. I personally don’t fret over pictures of the family taken on public property, or a movie set, or walking from the car to a building. But taking pictures in their own home is something else, and I don’t think many fans enjoy seeing it.

Like many of you, I feel like I’m intruding on their privacy looking at these pictures, and that is why I often feel guilty when I like looking at pictures of them taken during their family time (like taking the kids to school, playing in the playground). It’s a catch-22 (am I correct in using this?) situation for us fans, I guess. But much as I like seeing their photos and especially of the kids, I’d gladly go without those if it would mean the paps wouldn’t bother them. I’d much rather they are allowed their private time alone.

  • Yvette

    Sherry,

Yes, I think it’s intrusive. Brad and Angie are very generous in allowing photos of their family, within reason, so I believe it’s a bit disrespectful and intrusive when photographers go for that extra ‘private’ moment … even using telescopic lens.
