Barack Obama Confirms Brad Pitt Connection
March 28, 2008 by Sherry
On the Friday episode of The View, co-host Joy Behar asked a presidential candidate the question bloggers have been asking all over the internet all this week: she asked Barack Obama if he is indeed related to Brad Pitt. Obama’s answer?
“I guess we’re ninth cousins, something, removed – or something,” said Obama, 46, adding modestly, “I think he got the better-looking side of the gene pool.”
The comment prompted the show’s matriarch, Barbara Walters, to tell the senator: “We were saying just before you came out – maybe we shouldn’t say this. But we thought you were very sexy looking.”
It sounds like it was news to him as well, but it is an actual genealogical research group that discovered the link, so it seems that it’s not just goofy talk but actually true.
I’m sure neither of the two presidential connections will make any difference in how the Jolie-Pitt family decides to vote, but it’s just interesting. I love knowing how people are connected (I’m still annoyed that Six Degrees was taken off the air), so I just find it a neat bit of trivia.

so, it’s really confirmed.
this is funny.
He is too cute, it is funny.
What makes it really funny is if Angelina is really related to Hillary. I am sure this will not affect either one of them and how they will vote. For more reasons than one this is a very important election, there are many issues that need to be resolved as soon as possible.
I’m glad Brad & Angie chose not to announce whom they are voting for this Presidential primaries. For me it’s something private & they know the consequences if they do. Aren’t we related to each other in some weird ways? God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
Can someone explain to me what ‘9th cousins once removed’ actually means? I think my cousin’s kids are my second cousins, but beyond that, I’m bewildered. Thanks in anticipation!
