Beowulf doing well on Rotten Tomatoes
Well, here’s a sign that Beowulf is doing very well. Rotten Tomatoes, notorious for low ratings and harsh criticisms, has given Angelina Jolie’s movie a 70%. While 70% was not usually good enough to please your parents when you were bringing home report cards in school, for Rotten Tomatoes, it’s positively glowing.
In fact, I noted that even some of the negative comments aren’t all that bad and many had good things to say. Go, Beowulf!

This Is Kind Of Off Topic But Does Anyone Know If Angelina Is Still Going 2 Film “Atlas Shrugged”? I Heard About It A While Back But Havent Heard Anything Since. Its My Fav. Book And I Think Angie Would Be Perfect In It

I think Angelina has been working on getting Atlas Shrugged onto the screen for a few years. I saw an interview (for A Mighty Heart, I think) where she was asked about it; she said it’s very important to get it right and everything wasn’t together yet.
I read of a director who was attached to the project at one time, but I think that’s come and gone. There’s no script, and with the Writers Guild strike, it could be a while before one is written. I don’t know if financing has been set.
I think Atlas Shrugged is what people in the industry call development hell - where it’s stuck and gestating. Lots of films wait four to ten years (it took Sir Richard Attenborough 20 years to get Gandhi onscreen) before getting to the theaters.
I think Angelina would be perfect too.

More good news - Beowulf dominated the international market for 3 weeks before Compass taking the lead.
Variety, 12/10/07 - Actioner has cumed $91.6 million overseas for Warner Bros. for a worldwide total of $168 million.
“Beowulf,” [international]which had won the three previous sessions, grabbed another $9.2 million at more than 5,000 sites in 60 markets.
(The international market has a stronger appetite for actioners, fantasy & epics. Troy did just OK in the U.S. but was a smash abroad.)

Congratulations to Brad Pitt and everyone involved on AOJJBTCRF.
National Board Review has included the film in its top 10 movies of the year. Casey Affleck is their Best Supporting Actor.
It is The San Francisco Critics choice for movie of the year and Casey Affleck again was chosen Best Supporting Actor.

As an aside - congrats George Clooney, best actor for both NBR and SF Critics.
Even though it seems like Julie Christie is now the front runner for lead actress in just about every award ceremony to follow, the Oscars & Golden Globes, I am still holding thumbs for Angelina on thursday (Golden Globes Nominations) and next week thursday (SAG Nominations).
Brad Pitt’s Plan B is really making its mark. Last year The Departed was one of the best reviewed and collected alot of awards and this year it looks like both AMH & AOJJBTCRF are going to be getting a lot of mentions.

Marriage or no marriage, they are doing a great job to have their relationships work & still going strong. I am pro marriage as Catholic, maybe someday they will tie the knot & it will be the wedding of the century. I tried to go to this site where I can donate but I don’t really like using my credit card on line for safety reason but I will try again later, not much but it will help Brad’s project in New Orleans.

I went to watch Beowolf in Imax screen with my son and husband and the movie house was full . It’s one of the most interesting movies we have ever experience and Angelina made a difference in the movie and her role was the central point where the story revolve. Only Angelina could do justice to that role and nobody in showbiz today could fit in that character but Angie. Excellent visual , great cast . More power to the Pittwatch

Hahah maybe Brad will tell the world he and Angie sleep naked like Posh Spice did recently. x]
LoL. Brad is too mature for that but I’m hoping for more insight on the make it right project and of course inside tidbits on the Jolie-Pitts.

i’m happy that everything seems to go back to normal for their lives. I mean, the kids are kept away from the paps so their personal life is not as exposed as it was before. and for that, angie is back on being a box office maker.

I remember Brad being asked about his & Angie’s marriage plans. He answered pretty firmly that he & Ange would consider tying the knot when everybody who wanted to get married could legally do so. He was referring to gays & lesbians who are denied the right to marry in the U.S. (except for Massachusetts, I think). There are some countries where this right exists, I think Portugal & South Africa.

I did not go see Beowulf, but I talked to some friends who didn’t really care for it. With movies, it is always a subjective viewing experience. Half a theater may love the film and the other half may hate it. That is why I love movies- they are appealing to different tastes and wants. So I’m glad a lot of people have enjoyed Beowulf. I think I may like it.
And to the marriage issue- if Brad is waiting for gay marriage to be legal, he will probably be waiting an awful long time! Gay marriage is obviously not being legalized for a long time in the States (even though I feel that us Americans are way behind the times). I think it may have more to do with his and Angelina’s past marriages. They have been married and it didn’t work out. So maybe they are trying to pick the right moment to ensure that it is forever and not a decision that will lose its affect right after.
They have 4 children and more than likely future ones on the way. I think they seem comfortable where they are in the moment and appear to be a loving family. If it works for them, then maybe marriage isn’t a future option. Doesn’t mean they can’t have a loving relationship that endures. I think people may place too much emphasis on marriage sometimes. It isn’t the same for every couple.
