Brad and Angie are renters, not buyers
As many of you speculated in the comments, it turns out that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did not actually purchase the chateau in the South of France - rather, they are renting it on a long term lease for the next three years. They’ll be sharing their neighborhood with Johnny Depp and also the world-famous Beckham family - maybe Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and Twin A&B can play with Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz Beckham! There’s Brad’s soccer team!
The chauteau is on an estate with a vineyard, olive groves, a lake, a moat, and a forest.
Hopefully they’ll be able to enjoy some more privacy. I love seeing the Jolie-Pitt family when they’re out an about but it’s nice to think that they’ll be able to be out on their property without having to worry about being photographed 24/7.

You asked about the fact that french will become the second language in the jolie-Pitt house. I would speculate that one - it is her mother’s family language (don’t know if she spoke it much). Two - french is still common in New Orleans which is there home base. 3 - french is still quite common around the world due to colonization. Mad - Cambodia first language Khmer second French. Pax - Vietnam first language Vietnamese second French, now days more commonly is English. Z - Ethiopia 40 some different languages English second language. Shi - Namibia - first Afrikaans, second English. So if you were going to have two languages in your house with these kids and maybe two French ones on the way I would think you would pick French and English, and then maybe have the individual kids learn their own language.
I really don’t think this is a huge outrages house in any way I thought a Chateau in France just meant a country house. I think it looks very nice and has a rustic old world charm.

Even though this is from People, their source is E Online, not anyone official and certainly not a reliable source. It should still be taken with a grain of salt. People also makes mistakes. I would still say “rumor” for now.

I read in The Daily Mail UK they actually purchased the Chateau for $30+ Million. I don’t know what to believe!

I guess renting makes more sense. Still, I’m beginning to wonder now, if they were to make such a decision as buying/renting a house, would they really make an announcement or confirmation of it? Doing so might just tempt the papz to try and find ways of getting to them anyway. Oh well, I really just hope they’ll find a way to recover some of their privacy.

Although I believe they are renting I’m a little thrown by the supposed 3 year lease. A 3 month rental seems more plausible unless the rental is for 3 summers not years. It seems like such a long time to lease that I would think buying a house would be cheaper. Unless they couldn’t find one they like.

For now, I think it is still a rumor not until I see them moving in to that big house then I will believe. Haven’t seen them for a few days, I’m glad they are able to escape the papz temporarily. So the papz will stalk that place until they see the glimpse of the Jolie-Pitt’s. I doubt if they can, that’s really a big piece of property. God bless them.

People mag did quote E’, I read it this morning. They could have quoted Nice-Matin. But instead they corrected the perception of purchase to renting like Nice Matin.
It’s amazng that this made all the entertainment news and some legit news (?ABC). Talk about the media creating a storm in a tea cup. :( Is it to keep the paps on their heals so they can’t get a break??…

I hope they did buy. i hope they move to France and settle wih kids for a good long while. Enjoy some privacy and great neighbors. Angie did say she ws taking some time off to adjust everyone to 6 children. i wish them ll the best.

I for one, hope they don’t make great friends with the Beckhams. I was once a HUGE fan of Victoria Beckham until I worked for her at her World Cup Party and found out that the whole “charity” aspect was a HUGE con and all for the publicity.
I was so upset by this because I really did believe she was a generous and genuine person (at this time in England she was NOT popular and the subject of many jokes… in fact she has only really become popular since she made it in America) and I am really disappointed that she is regarded as charitable when I have seen with my own eyes exactly how little time she has got for charity.

Honestly, I just can’t see Angie spending time with Victoria Beckham…that woman seems to be an empty-headed clothes horse, nothing more. Angie has shown she is a real woman with a very good head on her shoulders.
I do hope they enjoy the new estate, it’s about time they had some privacy (even though we’ll be sad without pictures).

One fan posted a video at JJ the papz waiting by the gate of the estate, some big trucks & lots of cars coming inside the property & they have many security people around, I’m just wondering if the Jolie-Pitt’s are already settled in to their new home.I hope, they did & were able to escaped the glitz of the papz, though we miss seeing the whole family. In that vast property, they will enjoy their new found freedom, I’m happy for them.God bless the Jolie-Pitt.

Even if they purchased this said property, it should be no surprise because people who can afford to buy their dream house are entitled to that dream to become a reality. Look at Johnny Depp, he bought an island. I read somewhere of a ton of things that people can do “before they die” like what they say in the travel channel, 101 places to see before you die. One of those mentioned is to learn a new language. People who can do it want to live their dream. I am happy for them whether they rented or purchased, they deserved their privacy, their dream house and each other.
