Brad never stops helping the world

by Sherry on May 14th, 2008

Brad PItt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle - Not On Our Watch

Brad Pitt is always busy. Even when he’s frolicking with his family in the South of France and getting ready to walk the red carpet with Angelina Jolie at Cannes tomorrow, he’s still always doing something to help someone somewhere in the world.

Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle were among the founders of Not On Our Watch, a non-profit organization which has now donated half a million dollars to the Save the Children fund for much-needed relief work in Myanmar/Burma.

“Cyclone Nargis has left an estimated 100,000 Burmese dead and one million without shelter. While the international community has offered limited aid, Not On Our Watch remains committed to donating funds toward lifesaving programs in Burma and advocating for an end to the military regime’s gross violations of human rights.”

The situation in Burma is absolutely devastating at the moment, especially with the regime continually refusing to allow relief workers who are trained in these disaster situations to even come into the country. Some supplies are getting in but Canadian news reports yesterday said that many people are estimating only about 1/4 of those are getting to the people who truly need them most.

Let’s hope that Brad’s good work won’t go to waste and that the money Not On Our Watch has given will be put to good use to help all the people who are currently dealing with hunger, illness, and loss.

So much sadness thru out the world right now. I am very proud to be a fan of Brad Pitt. This is a man who truly cares about helping others. When American Idol was doing their Idol Gives Back, I saw so many stars appearing and I could not help wondering if they ever give. We know what Brad and Angie gives, not only their money but their caring for others. If those lines on his back do reflect something in New Orleans it goes to prove that he truly cares about that area.

CANNES, France - It’s twins for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt!

In an interview that took place in Cannes on Wednesday with the TODAY show’s Natalie Morales (airing tonight on Access Hollywood and tomorrow on TODAY) Jolie confirmed the baby news that has been rumored for months.

The twins will be the couple’s fifth and sixth children.

Jolie confirmed the news in a side-by-side interview with Jack Black — they are promoting their new Dreamworks animated film, “Kung Fu Panda.”

Black was the first to let the news slip, and then Jolie followed up with her own confirmation.

“You’re gonna have as many as (the) ‘Brady Bunch’ when you have these,” Black joked.

“It’s confirmed? Is it two?” Morales asked.

“Yeah, yeah, we’ve confirmed that already,” Jolie responded. “Well, Jack’s just confirmed it actually.”

“Is that true?” Black said jokingly.

    “Yeah, you did,” Jolie replied.

    Sorry,” Black concluded.

“So you’re having twins?” Morales asked as Jolie nodded.

“Do you know the sexes of the babies?” Moralas asked. “Or are you keeping that private?”

“We would like to keep that private,” Jolie replied.

“Are you going to stay here in France to deliver?” Morales also asked at one point.

With all the sad things (cyclone in Myanmar, earthquake in China, wars in Africa), it’s good to know that there are many efforts our there to help. Let’s just pray for all the victims, and hope that there’ll be less pain in the world.

It seems more & more often that these mega-disasters happen - tsunami, Katrina, Myanmar cyclone, 7.9!!! earthquake in China. I wonder if there’s any connection to global warming.

The whole time the JPs have been France, I thought they must be thinking of Myanmar. If Angie wasn’t pregnant, maybe she & Brad would have gone there like the did in Afghanistan.
