Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie donate $1 Million

People who know me offline often assume that I must get really angry at some of the negative things people say about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Sometimes I do get annoyed, but usually I just roll my eyes and laugh because it’s often so ridiculous. But do you know why I sometimes love the negative stories?
Because it makes me smile to know some people are just clawing around, looking for something nasty to say and meanwhile, Brad and Angelina help so many people who need it. Like when they donated $1 million via the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
The EPCC was actually co-founded by Angelina last year - she has said that “these educational support programs for children of conflict are the best way to help them heal.”
Half the money will go to help the education and emotional support of children of military people over in Iraq, while the other half will help various groups that offer aid to Iraqi women and children.
It is Brad’s hope that they can encourage others to help as well through these different groups.
That’s why I don’t understand the people who criticize Brad and Angelina for the spotlight that shines on all their humanitarian efforts. Angelina herself said that cameras follow her anyway so let them follow her to places that need that spotlight. I don’t see how some people can’t realize that because of their fame, they draw attention to groups that would just be one more charity among thousands if it weren’t for the big names that attach to them.
But then again, the Jolie-Pitt fans have always understood, right?

Char - Yes, Jen does indeed give to charities that are close to her heart. But really, I’d appreciate it if we can keep her out of this conversation. I don’t care for having Jen stomped on. She’s not relevant to this topic and although this is a Brad and Angelina fan site, it’s not a “crucify the ex” site either.
Thanks for understanding. :)

Those people who choose to say negative things about Brad and Angie are those who simply don’t have anything productive to do in their lives as well as being ignorant. The root of all this negativity is envy that all the attention is towards this couple specially now that she is soon having twins which will bring monetary offers from magazines, which the couple would give to charity anyways, but it wouldn’t matter because they will say that the twins are being used for financial purposes. We can’t win, they will say what they want to say, so just let them, it won’t hurt anyone anyways, let them suffer in envy.

I agree, Melodie. Those are among the best interviews of the JPs ever. I can’t remember which thread or by whom - someone posted those videos here soon after the Santa Barbara Film Festival. It’s nice to see them again & give those who haven’t seen them a chance.

Jhoey27, very nicely stated. I agree one hundred percent with everything you said. Melodie, thanks for stearing us to those interviews. I know they are old but I had never seen them before. I love this couple.

Our wonderful couple - a slideshow by German newspaper/magazine (?). Notice that the kids’ faces are pixillated for their protection;1 caption is kind of iffy.

This is just another example of why these two should be commended. Sadly, there are likely going to be people who will still find a way to twist things negatively and say they are doing all this for publicity and for self-promotion. Well, yes, in part it is for publicity (as both of them have acknowledged in the past that if they can’t get away from the paps and media, then they might as well bring them to shed light on where it is most needed), but not self-promotion (they don’t need to anyway). Anyway, I do hope that others will also find it in their heart to give, no matter how small. Small things put together lead to much bigger things. :) Hello, JP fans. I hope you all have a good weekend.

Jennifer Anistons name should not be mentioned on this site. She has nothing to do with Brad and Angelina anymore. It’s been so long i wish people would just associating them with each other. Anyway, this is why i love and adore this family so much. I’ve never seen any celebrities as nice and generous as these two. They radiate joy, happiness and love. I hope their names and deeds will be remembered and cherished forever. I know they will always be in my thoughts.
