Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit the Inglourious Basterds red carpet at Cannes Film Festival!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have stepped out on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the debut of Inglourious Basterds!
Brad is looking divine in a dark Tom Ford tux. Meanwhile Angelina is looking HOT in a very sexy high-slit dress by Versace. I’m so glad to see her in a different color, and that cut up the leg is just… WOW. You can check out style notes over here.

PittWatch reader Melodie said the French TV station airing the red carpet mentioned Brad and Angelina were about ten minutes late for their formal appearance because they took the time to stop and sign autographs – two stars who know exactly how to appreciate their fans!

Melodie? Where did you read that Angie and Brad was attending the AMFAR party. What is AMFAR?
They are so it!!! Love how during the red carpet Brad broke the Cannes red carpet rule and went and got Angie after they did the “I.B” cast shots and brought her to the area where the cast members were standing. He also left the cast line to get Angie and take pics with her. He was very attentive. I think this is very sweet. I love how they are able to spend some alone time together. I am so happy for them. Good night!!!! It’s 2:00 A.M.

I don’t want to sound too crude, but in her past pregnancies, it was not her tummy that showed first, it was her upper body parts that got big first, that is where you need to look (tee hee) because I am sure that is where Brad’s eyes go.
Can’t hardly believe it. The most anticipated couple on the planet and finally the real deal.

She has added to a alot of her tattoos. They are alot like the fake ones she had added for wanted, the curves and such. It’s wonderful that she is still very much a tattoo aficionado. I wonder if Brad has added some too.
just read lainey’s update on her site, and i have to concur with her that angie seems to always wear color in cannes.
and while the cameras didn’t capture all the intimate moments, according to lainey there sure were a lot in the theatre and the after-party.

My family never gets tired watching this lovely couple, over and over again. More power to this couple and their family. All I can say is WOW and WOW!!!!! very elegant choice of Angie’s dress sexy and yet sooooooooooo beautiful!!!!
Of course they look stunning – I love them! However, this is the first time I’ve seen them together where they look disconnected & not genuinely happy. I hope everything is good with them in their personal lives.

Gena, i’ve read somewhere that amfAR is a foundation for AIDS research. Angie is supposedly expected to attend a dinner with the foundation accdg. to some french website or paper not sure if it’s true though.
OK I looked at some of the footage and I realize that my first impressions, that their expressions looked strained and that maybe there was trouble in paradise was wrong.
What makes Angie seem a bit more awkward than usual if you look closely at some of her expressions was that this was not her film, she was waiting on the sidelines and Brad came to get her. So she had to get in the mood so to speak.
I bet she also felt a little jealous and insecure to not be part of the cast of such a cool film. But she and Brad are fine together and that’s good.
Honestly when I first looked at the pictures I saw a differences in their facial expressions. But now I understand why.
Precison Grace- They DO know about birth control and have even used it in the past. In the Fall of 2006, Angie mentioned during in an interview that they would probably be adopting next (which they did-Pax) and that she was on the Pill at the time (I’m guessing she wasn’t intending to announce that to the world, but it just slipped out accidentally!).
That said, I think you can relax.
If you look at all the pictures, it’s fairly obvious that Angie just has a normal female stomach that’s maybe a little paunchy from having had twins (via C-section, which isn’t kind to muscles, to boot!) ten months ago. Also, I think the way the dress is laying against her natural curves is making it look like there is a “bump” when there really isn’t.
Not to mention the fact that, with her previous pregnancies, Angie’s worn very flowy, bump-hiding clothes until the three-month safety mark has passed. Why would she change her tactic now (considering how small the “bump” is, she’d have to still be in the very early stages if she really was pregnant)?
As for the rumors of her asking for her stunts to be scaled back: I’m guessing they’re about as true as all the break-up claims that the tabs have been making.
Anyway, I really think we’ll be seeing another adoption (probably an African girl somewhere between Z and Shi’s ages) before another pregnancy.
Bottomline: If Angie DOES have a bump, I’m guessing that it’s probably just because of having twins 10 months ago and also possibly because she’s simply gained a few pounds.
OMG! They both look sooo gorgeous! Angie´s dress is absolutely beautiful and Brad is as handsome as ever. They llok like two teenagers in love. They way he holds his arms around her tell their own story. He really loves Angie and wants to keep her as close as possible and she is doing the same. They really are meant for each other. No matter what the stupid rags say. That slit in her dress isn´t too much. It´s in fact great that she´s not afraid of showing her flawless legs. Wonder if they continued their PittPorn privately later. God bless the JPs!
Jamie- I agree! When Angie is pregnant, it’s her upper body parts that get bigger first, and they appear to be about the same size as usual to me.
I’d like to add that the tell-tale signs of a pregnancy in Angie are:
1. Her upper body parts getting bigger.
2. Her wearing loose-fitting, bump disguising clothes (speaking of which, I’ll ask again…Why do people think she’d change her tactic and wear form-fitting stuff if she really were pregnant again?).
3. Her being seen drinking water instead of wine or other alchohlic beverage.
Considering that Angie is wearing a form-fitting dress in these pictures and was seen drinking Vodka at the after party, I think it’s safe to say she isn’t currently expecting.

All you people commenting on this are ridiculous. You sit here and drool over Angelina or Brad. Yet you don’t even discuss the reason they are even on that red carpet. I, for one, think Inglourious Basterds will be the shit.
Jay – I agree with you, I also think the movie will be “the shit”. I think it looks amazing. We’ve had many conversations about how incredible the movie is going to be. However, the red carpet is almost always about how celebrities look, so of course we’re commenting on what they wore. We can’t see the movie on the red carpet, we can only see the people.
I look forward to the film though!
