Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hit the Oscar red carpet in style

February 22, 2009 by Sherry

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have arrived at the 81st Academy Awards, walking the red carpet in style! Brad is looking very sexy in his tuxedo – probably Tom Ford! He looks rested and happy, a little bit of time off served him well!

Angelina looks gorgeous in her black strapless gown. It’s not the splash of color so many fans were hoping for but it looks amazing on her, nice and fitted and flared in all the right places! She did add a slice of color with her vivid green earrings – and no signs of the rumored $20 million necklace, not that she needs it to sparkle on the red carpet!

On my local network (CTV) they approached Brad and Angelina and the guy with the mic told them that they are the most gorgeous pair on the red carpet and they both just laughed and thanked him. So cute!

Shortly afterwards, the same guy bumped into Miley Cyrus and he asked her if there was anyone at the Oscars that she was especially excited to see tonight. She said she’s a big Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fan, then said that Angelina is her “favorite person in all of history”. She’s 16 years old, I love that someone so young has a great model already!

brad and angie are just pure class. they are winners just being together and looking so fantastic. not one pic or mention of them in my paper. jen did peek down at them and angie looked very accepting of her and did laugh at her ‘jokes’. hope this is over once and for all.i believe angie did have a glitter of maybe tiredness as i did see something in her demeanor. They got the best seats in the house. ben stiller did make me laugh as i watched joaquin on letterman and that was his behavior. i just hope he is putting on an act, as i love him as an actor and fear there may be something we are not taking seriously about him. it would hurt me so much for him to end up like river. i hope his family and close friends are watching him daily. you know he will never be a rapper, but he played johnny cash’s music to a T. I did see angie’s eyes fill with tears when heath’s family accepted his award. she is so caring and compassionate, i feel she relates to the loss of her mother when others hurt. i know i would be thinking of my mother. i am sad neither of them won an award but i expected it beforehand. it’s a joy to see them dressed so fine and together anyway. thanks for the pics sherry. take care.

    Forgot the rest lol!

Imo, last night should have been a perfect chance to finally see with “grownup” eyes that Brad/Jen/Angie have all gotten on with the lives they’ve chosen for themselves. I honestly thought it was beyond sensationalistic of the Oscar producers to have the camera’s pan to Brad & Angelina during Jen’s time onstage, but I also knew it was gonna happen because the ratings potential demanded it. Whatever, it finally happened and now it’s over. Jen seems to me genuinely happy with John, and Brad & Angelina seem genuinely in love and content with one another. I’m genuinely happy that the so-called triangle can finally be put out of its misery.

p.s….loved the earrings on Angelina; she’s always beautiful to me and Brad was more handsome than he usally is.

    Thanks again Sherry!

Thank you Sherry for a wonderful classy website! Most other websites are hideous and disgusting. Angelina & Brad looked stunning and fabulous. Bless them for all they do, great creative performances, but most of all for being wonderful human beings and reaching out to those in need. God Bless Angelina & Brad and their beautiful children!

I love pictures but videos just show a little bit more….here’s a cute interview talking about date night..I do agree with you that they both looked serous when they both started but I think Brad made Angie laugh so much it just breaks and make for a happier mood…good to see..puts out that mag rumor that they are separating..

ok last post…sorry missed watching the whole thing..and I’m surfing the net for tid bits…

another interesting mentions of our lovely cople by hugh jackman..loved his musical opening and the inclusion of how bad the economy is..
“Hugh also joked about the current economic crisis and how he must contractually mention Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at least five times throughout the show. Angie found that really funny!”Video Credit: Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences

I was disappointed when I saw Angelina wore black again, but when the camera panned closer to her, I was absolutely stunned at how gorgeous she looked! She rocked that red carpet like no other.
Also glad Brad had the goatee and not just the ’stache! He looked great and seemed to hug/handhold her very closely. They are still obviously crazy about each other.
Jennifer’s voice and demeanor seemed nervous at first, she flubbed a line, but her pairing with Jack Black made her relax and then she was okay. She definitely glanced over towards Brad&Angie and SMILED. Predictably, the camera panned over to Brad&Angie, and both were smiling and laughing at the jokes.
This should hopefully dampen the tabloids and freaks out there who keep the “triangle” alive.
Personally, I think there really is nothing “there”, and the 3 are okay. It’s been 5 years and many kids; Brad&Angie are committed to their life and goals and are happy.
I hope Jennifer finds true love and doesn’t get hurt by her current bf; she seems to be trying to move on and deserves her own happiness.

But dang, Angelina is soooo hot.
And talented- all 3 of her movies in 2008 were nominated for different awards at the Oscars (Changeling, Wanted, Kung Fu Panda).

  12. Rach says:

I love how they always hold each other so close. I love how everyone in the background gazes in admiration at them. I love their beauty, generosity and kindness. Best celebrity couple outthere. There’s no other that comes close.

  13. TL uncool J says:

was it me or did jen and john look sad? maybe it was my tired eyes, maybe… lol

  14. Sherry says:

Kim – no worries! Your comment was still in the moderation queue. I basically watched the Oscars last night, updating as I went (and talking about it on Twitter as well!), then went to bed. I took my daughter to the doctor today (just a flu, thank goodness!), and only got to the moderation queue now, so there was a bit of backlog.

I am so tired after the Oscars! I need a nap, or more coffee! :D

  15. Stellabellaroma says:

TL uncool J, wow maybe you saw what I saw in Angelina. Perhaps we could all have tireditous after that long award show.

Gena, there’s really nothing simple about Jennifer, two totally different looking women. I think Jen’s gorgeous and very cool. Just like I said about the Jolie/Pitts. I wish the media and people in general would give her a break. The more fuss they make the more it adds to the drama!

  16. Stellabellaroma says:

Sherry why is TJ uncool J allowed this type of discourse and mine is being moderated. It’s kinda of unfair and biased??
I’m a fan of B and A but this consistent bashing of Jen is just absurd and becomes more like childish behavior.

  17. Phoebe says:

    TL uncool J:
no Jen and John looked incredibly happy. some people say that Angie looked sad and unhappy in the RC, same nonsense.
i hope you are not disappointed?
    Stellabellaroma:
i don´t speak for Sherry but its pure chance which comments are in moderation. Sherry site is the only one which is absolutely fair and unbiased.
    thanks Original jpf!:)
i was really upset this morning after having made the big mistake and read the comments on JJ….thank goodness for this site really…..:)

  18. Nic says:

Sherry is it possible for you to post a clips of when they were presenting the Oscars in the Lead actors category for the Men and the Women?
I loved the idea that they had of having other actors says things individually to each of them but i missed it..My TIVO..messed up i missed the end..
Please much appreciate it..i mean, i know who won..but i wanted to hear what they said to Brad and Jolie..Before annoucing the winner in each category!!

  19. Original JPF, me, too! I no longer go to Just Jared unless it’s to look at some pictures of the J-P kids that none of the other blogs seem to have. Even then, I look at the pictures only. I don’t even read Jared’s comments on them anymore, let alone the reader comments.

Same goes for X17. I will ocassionally look at pictures or videos there, but I refuse to read even their comments about the pictures and videos.

  20. Phoebe, I can’t speak for anyone else, obviously, but I certainly don’t h8te (I’m spelling it that way in an attempt to avoid moderation!) you for be excited that Kate won!

Nothing wrong with being excited for Kate. If Meryl Streep had won, I would have been talking about how happy I was about that (although, yes, I would have also been very happy if Angie had won! Basically, I wanted either Angie or Meryl to win.), so I completely understand where you’re coming from!

In anycase, you’re absolutly right about the moderation! Sherry has explained many times (in fact, I’m guessing she’s pretty tired of having to explain it so much!) that the moderation system here is automated, and certain words trigger it, and that includes words you wouldn’t think about.

Sherry then has to go through manualy and either delete the comments in question or push them through depending on whether or not they are approprite.

In addition to keep this site free of h8ter comments, the moderation system also keeps spam and porn off this site!

  21. Mary Ann says:

joliepittfanatic, I am with you, I will go to the other sites to look at the pictures, but I have learned not to ever read the comments. They are very hurtful and not truthful and I will not be a party to it.
To a lot of the Pittwatchers who become upset with Sherry when their comment goes in to moderation, you must learn to be more understanding. If it goes in, it goes in. We can not expect Sherry to be on this site 24/7. None of us work 24/7 so why do we expect Sherry to? When mine go in I don’t even go back and see if they came out. I receive most of the comments through my e-mail. When a new thread comes out I make a comment and then I know I will see all comments from that point on. I know we all want to get our point across, but we must wait. If all comments went through, this site would become the same as the others.

  22. "another" Sherry says:

I’ve been here since, well, lets see…uhmm yeah when the Jolie-Pitt’s got together. I don’t worry about moderation because I try not to be rude. Having said that, I will say what I mean and don’t
care if it gets posted or not anymore, I feel better….lol…..I remember when this site was small and intimate. My how it has grown and so have the friendships. That is good for the Jolie-Pitt family. Sherry does a do a terrific job…. actually I don’t know HOW she does it…and I SO appreciate it….
Kim–I had to laugh about your “little wine” story.
    I’ve had a couple of those….<> posts, letters & phone calls..=)
