Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Make It Right

by Sherry on March 17th, 2008

On Sunday, Angelina Jolie joined Brad Pitt in New Orleans where Brad proudly got the Make It Right project underway in collaboration with Bill Clinton’s group, the Clinton Global Initiative.

They also took the time to pose for photos with some of the local residents, and signed autographs.

It sounds like Brad is very hopeful about getting things moving. He said:

“We hope to see a huge change here in the next six months.”

They should be very proud - in a fairly short time they’ve accomplished a great deal of relief effort in the Lower 9th Ward. I’m sure all the people who lost their homes to Katrina are grateful that someone finally stepped up and did some work for them.

This is exactly why I scratch my head when people ask why Brad and Angelina don’t help American children by adopting locally instead of internationally - it looks to me, if you check out the photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in NOLA on Sunday, that they’re most certainly helping American children AND their families.

    They are like marching band, so cute. It looks like Shi wants to go down & walk by herself just like her brothers & sister. Who were those people walking with them? The pictures are so adorable. What a lovely day to start my week. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

    I do hope that the houses will all be built this summer, and start making a change in these people’s lives and the landscape of the area. The only other thing I can say is send some of that warm sunshine up this way.

    Even though these are not directly sponsored by Angelina or Brad, I’m pretty positive they would support them if they knew about them. Sponsored by the UN World Food Program. They are free and fun! They donate grains of rice and spoonfuls of flour on your behalf to countries in poverty and you get to improve your vocabulary in the process. Don’t say I didn’t warn you as it becomes addictive to play for such a good cause!

    Melodie and Kim;

    I think they said they hoped to have the first batch of 20 homes built by the End of summer.

    @Sherry
    The problem with those people you refer to is that they only read tabloids, and nothing else to suplement their knowledge. Even without MIR, Angie has a long history of donating to charities in the US. And Brad & Doug have been involved a Book programme for a while too.

    Angie is so proud of Brad, she cares the kids and supports her lover man in everything.

    Lovely, lovely family. I am so proud of them all. Great kids too. Shiloh is growing fast. Look at those strong legs. Thanks Sherry.
    P.S.
    My teenage son and I will be in the Philippines for Spring Break, next week. Hope to write on this site from there.
