Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie nominated for Golden Globes!
December 11, 2008 by Sherry
Well we can all go ahead and expect to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in 2009! Both of them have nominations this year, and I am so excited!
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is up for Best Motion Picture – Drama (up against Frost/Nixon, The Reader, Revolutionary Road, and Slumdog Millionaire (which is hear is excellent too).
Angelina Jolie is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Changeling. She has competition from Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Kate Winslet – all excellent actresses, good company!
Brad Pitt is also up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Benjamin Button and will go head-to-head with Leo DiCaprio, Frank Langella, Sean Penn, and Mickey Rourke.
As if that weren’t enough, Burn After Reading is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, Kung Fu Panda is nominated for Best Animated Feature Film (may have trouble with Wall-E!), and David Fincher is up for Best Director – Motion Picture for Benjamin Button while Eric Roth got it nominated for Best Screenplay – Motion Picture.
That’s not all! Both Changeling and Benjamin Button are also up for Best Original Score as well.
Whew!
This is such fantastic news! Not only are they nominated, but they’re up for many of the major awards. I am bouncing off the walls this morning, and can’t wait to watch the Golden Globes this time!
See the full list of nominations (I’m excited about some of the TV nominations as well!) over at the official website.
(Thanks Sonja, for the heads’ up!)

I can remember an Article the writer expresses that Brangilina love fest was going to be on display for the world to see, because Brad will be promoting CCOBB and what a love fest it is,I am loving it. Love B for standing up and telling the world he is in love with A. That was very obvious to true fans but, coming from his mouth adds more weight. God will protect them from harm. Love forever.
Ligaya, very happy to see that your computer is up and running again.
Thanks, “Another” Sherry, for having my back.
Actually, Ryan’s “Sugar” doesn’t open until April 3, 2009 for baseball opening season. (There are 7 other Sugars.) Sugar is the protagonist’s name for his sweet pitch and sweet nature. Every major league team has a baseball academy in the Dominican Republic where they pick hot prospects as young as 11 and groom them for the U.S. minor leagues. The good thing is that these kids are fed well and have a little money for their families – plus they have a chance at the big shot, be big heroes and lift their families out of poverty. The bad side is the kids stop going to school once they’re in the baseball academies, and the percentages are against them. The bad side is also that the kids/guys from the Dominican Republic are paid much smaller signing bonuses and salaries than the American guys – including American minorities.
Sugar is the journey of one such kid/young man, a big fish in a little pond who becomes a little fish in a big pond and who has to adjust his measure of himself, the unknown story of the majority of baseball players – not the familiar ones of stars like Sammy Sosa, Pedro Martinez, and Roberto Clemente.
Hi, Mary Ann. Me too – I use it for practically everything, packing list, xmas shopping list, research, fun. It’s 90% functional, just a few things hubby’s got to look at.
Now, it’s a whole different story with me. I’m entering my 5th week of being a very sick puppy. Weeks 1-2 couldn’t kick very severe cough with teas, home remedies, OTC meds; week 3 doctor gave me Advair & Claritin, cut my cough in half, gave me severely painful earache and painful sore throat, interacted with other scrip meds and made me feel like I had Alzheimer’s, so I stopped taking Advair. Just finished week 4, OTC earache and sore throat meds and teas not really helping, thank God I remembered I had leftover Vicodin from my last oral surgery. Seeing doctor Tuesday – hope he can help coz I’d like to be healthy – or at least pain-free – on holidays in San Diego and NOLA.
BTW, it snowed in NOLA!
Hi, Jennifer. They’re a great couple – especially on the inside. Maybe they’ll win the Nobel Peace Prize together one day.
There are lots of Pinay JP fans – we’re spread out all over the world. I was born in Guiuan, Samar. Most of the family are still there but many have moved Cebu, Manila, the States, etc. I live in Oakland, California.
It´s really great that they both have been nominated for Golden Globes. Haven´t seen either Changeling or TCCOBB but definitely gonna see them when they open here in Finland in Jan 2009. Hopefully they both will win but if they don´t it won´t sure matter to either one of them. They both have already achieved the biggest thing one can hope for: a family with six adorable, healthy children. What more can one hope for. And naturally they have each other. Still I hope they win. And hopefully they also get Oscar nominations. It´s gonna be wonderful to see them on the red carpet at Golden Globes and hopefully at the Oscars too. God bless the JP family!
Ligaya, I hope you feel better soon. I went through something last year where I was very sick for almost 7 weeks. All these different med’s they put us on sometimes just makes the situation worse. I laughed real hard the other day when I saw the snow in NOLA. To bad it didn’t do that when the Jolie-Pitts were there.
I’ve accidentally fallen into following the Brangelina relationship since the time they were promoting the Mr & Mrs Smith movie. And wow, their lives’s adventure have been grander than any cinematic portrayal can project. Each year seems to keep getting better and better. So, congratulations to Brangelina. What you sow is what you reap!
As Ange had previously stated when they came into making the movie of Mr and Mrs Smith both of them have been living full lives. Neither one were looking to really fall in love, or fool around for that matter. So, I wish people can just accept the possibility of the fact that here were two people who met, who were actually the intended soul mates as dictated by the universe, and had the courage to follow their destiny, are now together and living even more fuller and happier lives that they can possibly imagine.
No one intended to hurt Lady Voldermort and, honestly, if she won’t let go, it’s starting to look pretty pathetic for her. Entertainment Weekly has the solution for her life’s trouble as: get a dog! Sorry, but that sounds a tad bit too sad.
Anyway…happy for Brad and Angie…more power!
neer, I can’t open the link you sent. It looks like another great interview with Brad. Can you please re-post or paste the interview here (if it is not too long). Thanks
Fan from Vietnam—Thank you so much for your kind words. You are always so sweet. I’ve been a bit under the weather and haven’t been posting much. But, I’m back now…=)
Ligaya–Thanks for explaining about “Sugar”…I can’t believe there are SO many movies out with the SAME name. I remember you explaining it a while back—but—I guess I forgot in my drug induced Nyquil plus a pain pill potion….lol….The one I watched was good but NOW that you explained it, I remember…I’ll be waiting for it to be released in 2009.
I don’t know WHO started Lady Voldermort but, I absolutely LOVE IT!!
The thing about her–JA–is that she is just pathetic….I think she knew “exactly” what she was saying. I am not on here to bash her, only to defend the Jolie-Pitts and until she can keep her big mouth shut about Angie, I plan defend her.
Hi (waving) to all Pittwatchers……Sherry–as usual thanks for all you do on this site…
