Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were “never in the Philippines”

I couldn’t help but giggle when I saw a news report this morning that admitted Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were never in the Philippines last week after all, despite all the alleged sightings and first-hand accounts. Stories ranged from saying that they were in the area for a quick vacation to declaring that they were in the process of adopting a child.
I know mistakes happen, but I especially found it funny that the general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority had to issue a statement:
“I have checked with all our offices coordinating VIP arrivals as well as with the Bureau of Immigration. Sorry to disappoint the fans, but they did not come to the Philippines.”
Why is it funny? Because we already KNEW they weren’t there since Brad Pitt was in France and Angelina Jolie was filming scenes for Salt in New York!
It just amused me to have such a formal statement so much after the fact when everyone knew anyway!
It’s also been refuted that they were in the middle of adoption proceedings in the country.
For those who celebrate, I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend just like I did with my family, and I hope that Brad, Angelina, and the Jolie-Pitt kids enjoyed Easter together too!

why is it that everyone is pushing on that adoption issue?
Hwahwahwahwahaha!!!!!!! A lot of people were making claims but I knew where they were bull**it because I read the news and Pittwatch! Some people are so gullible it’s pathetic.
It is being pushed because of Madonna and there is not much news out there on the Jolie-Pitts. When ever Angie and Brad are out of the limelight there are stories of adoption or separation that develop. Brad and Angie do not pay any attention to this stuff.
I would love to see the twins!!!! Or any of the kids but know the family is fine.
As a Filipino, I am so happy to hear the news at first. And if ever the adoption thing is true, I know that Brad and Angie could give this child a good future and a happy family life as well. More power to the adoption thing! (Filipino or not) as long as they can provide the happiness in one’s life is okay.
I love the Jolie-Pitts.
gena- I was wondering if Madonna’s recent adoption attempt was part of the reason for the recent J-P adoption rumors (I remember it being rumored right before she adopted David that the J-Ps were adopting from India…and then after Madonna adopted David, it was reported that Angie had become discouraged after hearing about Madonna’s adoption fiasco and decided to abandon the India adoption).
However, I wonder why it is that the tabs put out Angie and Brad (read: Angie) adoption rumors after Madonna adopts or tries to adopt?
Anyway, I agree that, when things are quiet on the J-P front, those rumors you mentioned do seem to circulate. Pregnancy rumors and Angie weight rumors also tend to circulate during those times.
I’d love to see the twins (and the other kids), too, and hope we’ll get to see them when they go to France for Cannes next month, if not before then!
There are so many rumors regarding Angie and Brad’s split, it’s getting rediculous.
Oh, and I just realized that, although adoption rumors usually come out everytime the J-Ps go to a foregin country, we virtually never hear adoption rumors when they are in France or England.
I briefly thought that it might be because those aren’t third-world countries and Angie usually adopts from third-world countries, plus, you rarely hear of anyone from the U.S. adopting from those countries. However, when the J-Ps were in Prague in 2007, rumors began that they were adopting a Czech boy.
The Czech Republic is definently not a third-world country, and, from what I’ve read, foreginers are not allowed to adopt from that country. However, those facts didn’t stop the tabs!
So, anyone have any idea why we never hear adoption rumors when they go to France or England (right after the twins’ birth, I was actually half-expecting the tabs to claim that Angie was hoping to bring Knox, Viv, AND a French child home when the family returned to the U.S….just like they claimed right after Shi was born that the J-Ps were going to return to the States with both her and a Namibian infant!)?
maybe we don’t hear the rumours on a adoption in the UK because if it were true there’d be masses of comments from UK media first-off; to pretend an adoption was to be in Burma, India, S America or the Philippines maybe would be an easier rumour to spread and sell a few million copies before it was refuted . . . . . this is all about selling copies/ making money isn’t it? There’s always been the comment: ‘Can there be ethics in business?’
The rumours of late are so varied and so many- I find it all horrible, disturbing and offensive (especially the ones about Angie’s supposed shouting at Brad and how she says she wants other lovers). Can they truly just laugh at it all? How do the media get-away with such slander- it’s outragious.
I find it very confussing to see one tab saying they are splitsville and the next one saying that they are adopting. Which one is it! Did the split happen because of the adoption? I need guidance. It is just too stressful…… I but wonder if one can sue these rag mags for mental duress. Do they have any idea how they mess with peoples emotions! LOL!!!!

…one thing, you should really put up a new thread informing fans that in a Vanity Fair poll, Angelina was voted the MOST BEAUTIFUL!!! and it was a LANDSLIDE! Our Angie got 58% of the peoples vote while Gisele Bunchen got only 9%!! lol!!…… see below. I never thought Gisele was that beautiful anyway…

tabloids in Europe are simply without any morals; and not just tabloids, even more serious newspapers! the news about “angie wanting other lovers” was printed in even more serious newspapers. Unbelievable.
i actually think they should sue them for printing lies about them, at least once, so these mags will realise they cannot just write any stupid story that comes to their mind. Sadly too many people believe them, especially if they are printed in more serious newspapers!
that lame open relationship “report” came from a u.k lying rag NOW magazine, which also reported that angelina collapsed on the salt set, which sony productions has already said was false, so do not believe anything NOW magazine reports.
tabloids are desperate for money, and their biggest money maker is covers with brad and angieon, as they sell the most, so they need to keep making up new scandal to sell to the public who are stupid enough to spend their money on them, when we fans know that angelina is just working hard on SALT, and brad is in NY while continuing with building projects, make it right etc, and making sure the family is on top of business.

Brad and Angie love their children more than life. Neither one of the parents is going to do anything to hurt these children. Maddox is 7 now and he would be so frightened if his parents were fighting and screaming at each other. Please people I know it is hard not seeing them, and worrying about them, but we must have faith in their love for each other and their children.
I often wonder why we pay so much attention to the tabloid blogs & newspapers. If you just google “Angelina Jolie” there are thousands of stories that are so untrue to repeat them is like playing that “telephone” game. By the time the information gets to you, it is entirely different than it was when the first person heard it. Just the name “Angelina Jolie” will give a site hits and plenty of $$$$$ in the long run. Funny how various tabs have repeated the Brad & “the nanny” story but have yet to produce said nanny since the story is that Angie fired her. Surely that nanny would be willing to spill her guts out to the tabs about a whole lot more than Brad “supposedly” sitting on the edge of a bed. This story as well as a few others, are too ludicrious to be believable!!!!
Hello Pittwatchers…I’ve been just lurking these last couple of months…or few weeks, what with all the work and stuff that needs doing, but I thought this news was really funny. B&A in the Phils…my dream, but somehow it just didn’t ring through when I first heard of it.
brad and angelina have split up for christ sake. do a search and you will see brad told a local french/marseille newspaper that he was leaving france on friday and went to NOLA for easter with angie and kids on saturday and sunday.
angelina is back in new york filming salt in long island, so brad and the kids are almost certain to be back in new york too.
have people.com reported a split? have CNN reported a split? no, because there is none.

Good morning everyone. My husband & I were in the supermarket the other day, I pointed to my husband the tabloid magazine side by side, In Touch Exclusive Now It’s War, then OK say Wedding News. My gosh, which one? I will never buy anymore tabloids magazines , they have to go back to real journalism just write the truth. People in LI have so many sightings of Brad & Angie, I’m glad they are able to stay away from the papz. I’m sure they had a nice Easter celebration with their children.
Congratulations Angie for being voted as the Most Beautiful Woman in The world. I sent an email to VF stating what my opinion about it & that I only buy VF if Angie is on the cover. They even sent me an email thanking me for a suggestion. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

angelina said after filming SALT she will have almost another year of no filming. so if angie does do sin city 2, it will not be till late 2009/early 2010 IMO, and sin city 2 does not even have other cast members on board or a start date yet, so sin city 2 might not even happen for ages yet. peace
Sherry, the Philippine media makes a big fuss about everything. I’m not bashing my heritage. I’m Fil-Am and there are many things I love about my culture, but the media and entertainment industry there need a lot of improvement. It’s those sectors that I have a problem with. Everything is made a big deal and exaggerated in the public eye by the celebrities, the reporters, the celebrities’ hangers-on, etc. There are gossip shows morning, noon, night and weekend. Too many to count, and truly unnecessary. So, I’m not all too surprised that the general manager had to issue an official statement.

please ease your mind, and don’t believe the tabloids. we get something like this every week from a few posters, but seriously, it’s just not cool anymore. i’m sorry to be harsh, but such lies inject unnecessary negativity here. i suggest you go to your local store or visit the gossip sites and compare the brangelina headlines on the tabloids. they’re incongruent to each other. a couple of weeks ago, one tab had them splitting up while another one had them marrying. take your pick.
I had my doubts about this Philippines adoption from the first second I read it. There have been so many rumors concerning this beautiful couple lately that I´ve learnt to laugh at them. These rags are making up these stupid stories because there aren´t any new stories of the JP family right now. It´s only good that they are keeping quiet. They deserve some peace and quiet too. After all they´re a normal family who has a right to their privacy. Hopefully the JPs had a great Easter wherever they were. God bless the JP family!

but the truth is that the worst stories are written about Brad and Angie, and it’s so sad how so many people cannot read between the lines and realise how manipulative these mags are, but then we cannot change that can we 
It’s just that they hardly write such lies about other celebrities (understandable since Brad and Angie are so popular) but still, I don’t like it when the mags are making them look so bad and people are buying it. Childish of me I know 
but people today have completely wrong values and wrong role models!
THe insider tv show is a little different than the insider.com. The website lets bloggers post stories from any source, last week someone posted AJ was a meth addict. They don’t fact check stories

Melodie, i think i’ve read that somewhere too that Angie is gonna be on the movie Sin City 2, she is supposedly to play Clive Owen’s love interest. Rosario Dawson even mentioned that in a 2007 interview telling that Angie was interested in the movie but she was very pregnant. and now that she already has given birth, they say Angie is in serious talk about the movie. i’m not really sure if this is true though.
Cassie, i agree. the TV INSIDER is different from INSIDER.COM. and most of their blog poster are pro Jen but anti Angelina so expect bad / harsh and negative comments about her.
Jacqueline- That makes sense, and I agree that’s probably the main reason. That’s probably why we don’t here about an adoption in France, either. Just like the U.K. media, the French media would probably be making comments about any adoption if it were true before the U.S. media had a chance to get the scoop.
Whereas, like you said, it’s probably going to take a lot longer for rumors about adopting in Burma, India, S. America, the Phillipenes, Africa to be refuted. That probably also explains why the media was able to get away with the Prague adoption rumors in 2007. The Czech Republic is a small country, and it tends to take awhile for any news, celeb-related or not, from their media to reach the States.
Anyway, I also agree with you about being fed up with the tabs, in particular the rumors about Angie shouting and wanting other lovers. I mean, I wish the tabs would remember that there are children involved here!
jusan- Try to take some deep breaths and relax! Like other posters have said, I get the impression that The Insider site is not above printing “stories” from tabs. My rule of thumb is: If PEOPLE isn’t reporting it, don’t worry about it!
taylor- I agree! Angie DID say that, after Salt, she plans to take another year or two off from filming. I don’t see why she’d lie about that (especially since she is known for being extremely open and honest!). So, if she DOES do Sin City, I agree that it won’t be until early next year at the earliest.
Since there isn’t a start date for Sin City 2 or other cast members listed or rumored (well, apart from Clive Owen or whomever’s love interest Angie is supposed to be playing), I also agree that it’s probably going to be awhile before the movie comes to fruition.
Oh, and to whomever mentioned the rumor about them going to Brazil after Angie finishes filming Salt…I actually think there might be some truth to that. From what I’ve heard, Brad’s next movie project is Lost City of Z (it’s a Plan B production, so I’m unsure if Brad is producing it, starring in it, or both), which will be filming in Brazil.
Although I’m guessing filming won’t be starting until after Cannes, Brad might have to do a little pre-production work in Brazil before they go to Cannes.

Kaye- Read the post, please. They were NEVER in the Phillipenes, and they are NOT currently adopting a child from there. The PEOPLE article that you linked is DEBUNKING the lies about them that have been going around.
Oh, and your friend probably read that in a tab, or, if she lives in the Philipenes, the local paper.
