Brad Pitt and George Clooney ham it up for Venice

by Sherry on August 27th, 2008

65th Venice Film Festival: Burn After Reading Photocall

At today’s photocall for Burn After Reading, Brad Pitt and George Clooney had their usual comical interaction going on, according to People.

Naturally, people wanted to know how Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt are doing, and Brad raised his glass in a toast and proclaimed that “the twins are fine”.

In a wisecracking moment, George Clooney used comedic sarcasm to respond to a reporter’s question as to whether he will ever get married and have children:

“I am so surprised to hear that question. This honestly is the first time I’ve ever been asked that question. I’m getting married and having children today.”

Brad helped him out by offering, “and until then, I’ll be sharing mine with him.” Ha! That led to the inevitable question as to when Brad will have enough kids, to which he cracked that he would have two more by next year.

Later, George explained that the reason he only has one scene in the movie with Brad, and that they’re sitting far apart, is because he has a restraining order against Brad. It never fails, when you put these two together, they always make me laugh, they both have such a great sense of humor.

With the U.S. in the midst of the Democratic National Convention and the election looming ahead, both Brad and George were asked if they’d rather be in Denver or in Venice. People reports that the reaction was:

“I’m happy to be here. This is one of my favorite places in the world to be,” Clooney said. “I like to watch the conventions on TV. I think the stars of the convention should be the people who are being elected.”

As for the upcoming election, he added, “I’m pessimistic, but I’m optimistic. I think it’s a very exciting time in American politics.”

Pitt chimed in: “I’m optimistic, too. It’s a vital time. It’s a defining time. I’m excited about where things are going.”

I’m looking forward to the red carpet!

Two very attractive men, so much fun when they are together. Still hoping that Angie and the other children are there at a hotel and we will see her with Brad tomorrow.

That tattoo isn’t a woman - it’s a famous ancient human being or landform or something I forgot. But it isn’t Angelina.

    Film Review: Burn After Reading

Bottom Line: The Coen brothers are in a goofy mood as pure lunacy engulfs a spy thriller
