Brad Pitt and George Clooney hosting dinner together
August 23, 2008 by Sherry
It seems that we can definitely count on Brad Pitt making an appearance in Venice for the Venice Film Festival. It would seem obvious, since they’re opening the festival with Burn After Reading, but if this story is accurate, then he’ll be doing more than just strutting his (hot) stuff on the red carpet.
According the the story, Brad Pitt and George Clooney will be hosting a fund raising dinner in Venice. The dinner is slated for August 26th, the night before the festival starts. They’re expecting a great deal of high profile folks to show up for it.
The dinner is meant to raise funds for Not On Our Watch, which was founded in part by Brad and George, and emphasizes awareness for global humanitarian issues, particularly in Darfur.
Well, good for them, and here’s hoping we’ll have plenty of good pictures!

More excellent work done by Brad and his friends. This is the type of thing that makes me truly respect him. This past week has shown three distinct and different projects, that shows his versatility. (New Orleans, the Kiehl project and now this).
He, Angelina and their friends are setting the gold standard for not just talking, but doing. Speaking of New Orleans, a great editorial in the local paper about Make It Right, which shows how much that effort is appreciated by the citizens and how it sets an example for the government.

Thanks for all the good news stories.
i hope the fund raising will be a success for it can help a lot.
Thanks sherry, i hope they raise a lot of funds at this dinner, i know this is an issue close to angie’s heart, she made several trips to dafur over the years.
i have a hunch that all the good guys who formed not on our watch – my shift key is not working – brad, george, don cheadle, matt damon and jerry bruckheimer are going to turn all their festival galas into fundraisers for darfur and other good causes.
i hope the other stars follow their example for their own charities, and that this practice becomes a regular part of festivities – much like elton john’s and others’ aids fundraisers.
UNDER MOD – i hope other stars follow their example for their own charities, and that this practice becomes a regular part of festivities…
MARY, thanks so much for the link. What a love letter to the make it right project and the jolie-pitts — made me teary-eyed to read it.
THANK YOU, Sherry and your tech support for fixing the moderation meltdown – it’s much appreciated. The ‘recent comments’ box seems stuck – but that’s not as important.
it ‘ll be great if angie’ll be with brad but i don’t think so… i can’t imagine her go there and take the twins with her (she’s breastfeeding i think, she isn’t?)
They do so much good for so many. There are so many celebrities, sport figures and others of means that should give, but don’t. Could you image if they all gave like the Jolie-Pitts there would be so many helped.
I love how Brad really helps out and not just talks. Angelina and him are perfect for each other. I saw the trailer for this on tv already and I was laughing so hard. Brad is so dorky! His dancing, OMG! It made my day. As for Clooney, I was lucky enough to see him in Chicago for the Ocean’s 13 premiere. I wanted to cry cause Brad didn’t show up.
They are people with good hearts and they put their money where their mouth is. They’re just a great example for us all.
aaahhhhh! I will arrive in Venice on August 30th and it looks like there won’t be any screenings of Burn After Reading on the weekend …
I still hope (even it is unlikely) that Brad (and Angie?) will stay in Venice for a bit.
Well, I asked my friend – who will be in Venice from tomorrow on – to look out for Brad Pitt and to take a picture if he walks the red carpet. If he does so, I will post it on my website right after I come back from Vencie on September 2nd.
Great news, hope they raise a lot of funds.
WHEE!! CONGRATULATIONS, SHERRY! You and Pittwatch got name-checked – or the equjivalent. Hope more blogs link up to this one. I have a feeling there are tons of Jolie-Pitt fans out there hungry for a supportive, positive, non-flaming site.
