Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie - Most Influential Couple
Much like Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was listed as the most influential infant, Forbes.com has now declared Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is Hollywood’s most influential couple.
According to the article, they got high scores on all counts because of their humanitarian acts, their growing family, and their overall likability - and People magazine’s Deputy Managing Editor stated that they’re even more appealing as a couple than they are individually.
“[Pitt] is pretty to look at, and he’s a fabulous actor, but he’s not the most scintillating person on his own,” Castro says. “But hook him up with, arguably, the world’s most beautiful woman, and then you have the makings of a really interesting tableau.”
Although we, as fans, roll our eyes at the tabloids for their constant creation of drama involving Brad and Angelina, the article also mentions that this ongoing tabloid coverage is part of what keeps the public interested, so I guess that old adage of “there’s no such thing as bad press” is at least a little true.

Thanks Sherry for the post! WOW what a beautiful day to start (Philippine time)! There’s no doubt in my mind that they’d be given that title, even long before it was declared, I knew it. Who else could create such media circus? Who else could create mayhem on red carpets? Who else could sell the most expensive photos? Etc? Etc? No other else.

Haidee, you are right. They own the media & HW. They are very influential that’s why some people are jealous of them, they are the biggest stars & the Royalty of HW. I love them. God bless.

How true that article is. I had a mild interest in each of them, but when they became a couple my interest went sky high. Together, they are powerful and interesting.

They are a supremely unusual combination. Just in Hollywood terms, each of them is fantastic - beauty, sex appeal/hotness - and intelligence and award-winning talent (not always part of the package). The package doesn’t usually come as a couple - that it does makes them doubly, quadruplelly (?) special - the Royal Couple, #1 Influential Hollywood Couple.
Then they have a rainbow family of four, also an unusual combination - adopted & biological, different races, all born abroad with different cultures, who’ll be raised respecting those cultures. Angelina & Brad are outspoken about wanting up to 14 kids. Some people are aghast. I don’t know why - Mia Farrow has exactly the kind of family Angelina & Brad are building, but nobody’s blinked an eye.
Americans are used to thinking the norm is 2.5 kids per family. Not so much. I read of large families (biological, foster, adopted, mixed) of 7 to 17 all the time in Parade, People, etc. The mother of the 17 biological said she’s not going to stop. My husband has a Catholic co-worker who has 8 kids. There are also families who choose to be childless and average out the larger families.
The piece de resistance is that not only are Brad & Angelina the #1 Influential Hollywood Couple, and have an exotic family, they are great humanitarians & philanthropists too. In an industry dedicated to the superficial, two of HW’s leading lights are dedicating themselves to being socially responsible. And not just donating a dress or two, not just donating a little money, but donating millions of dollars every year, and getting down and dirty in their projects, walking the walk & talking the talk.
And the thing I like the most about our Royal Couple is that they’re humble & respectful. The Jolie-Pitts are respectful of different cultures, refugees, aid workers, neighbors in the Lower Ninth Ward, children - everyone they work with. They’ve never said they’re the first, best or only people who help. But they give so much of their money and themselves, that it can’t help but be noticed. Then the envious & the jealous start their negative chatter. The 8ers do their best to malign the Jolie-Pitts. They just can’t stand how good Angelina & Brad are. But the people who really count know the truth.
OK, off my Jolie-Pitt soapbox now. ;-)

ITA Ligaya. especially on your last words. You can see some of those stupid rags are still making stupid headlines like ‘Angie’s Joy Jen’s pain’ and blah blah blah. that’s so mean. it’s been three years and the tabs still can’t get over it.

I think they are very influential. Look at all the other celebs jumping on the band wagon to help in the causes they believe in. Go Brangie, I love the two of them and their children. They are very gracious and wonderful human beings.
