Brad Pitt gets pushed around at private screening

Brad Pitt chaos at private screening

Update: I’ve been able to update this story as new details have come out.

Brad Pitt attended a private VIP screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, in order to attend a special question and answer session with the audience after it was over. When photographers saw that Brad was actually there, they rushed forward, hurrying to try to get photos of him.

While Brad seemed to be fine with the photographers, it generally created enough of a commotion that security had to step in to escort the photographers out of the building. In the confusion, one security guard grabbed Brad by the arm and spun him around, pushing him along with the crowd.

I’m sure he must be pretty embarrassed - imagine being paid to take good care of Brad Pitt and then you accidentally shove him along like he was causing trouble?

Luckily it was all sorted out and in the end, Brad was finally able to get inside for the session, but what a moment of mass confusion!

People has a better story here
    http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20239473,00.html

It was the body guard that got confused for some reason, not sure why. Strange no matter what the cause. Poor Brad.

Mary - as soon as I posted it, the People story came in so I’ve corrected the information.

I can only assume that it was so chaotic that the guard didn’t realize it was Brad. It must have been nuts. I wonder if he lost his job!

still, they are celebrities and this type of situation is always there for entertainers…get used to it brad…what privacy are you entitled to as a star? No one will give you ANY, so..just get used to it…

well that’s a comotion but i don’t think brad would want that guard to lose his job after that confusion mishap - well hopefully not. papz are getting crazier and crazier everytime.

Well that is really strange. Wonder what went through Brad’s mind as soon as he was grabbed. Glad it all worked out.

i don´t know….i think Brad took that with humor as usual. i don´t think the guy lost his job.
Brad is not that kind of snobby star who thinks he is better than any “normal” people.

I agree, Brad doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would fire someone for a mix-up, especially if he didn’t get hurt. I just hope the security company itself doesn’t fire him. After all, he was trying to do his job, even if he got confused!

Brad’s been an A-list star for a while so he knows the deal. He seems to go with the flow and this incident seems an exception to the rule. At the same time, I don’t think he or anyone else should get “used” to being manhandled and out-of-control mob situations (one just happened in San Francisco with the Twilight vampire guy). The problem is poor security.

I’ve always believed everyone is a human being and a citizen and have those rights, no matter their job, no matter if in the private or public arena. Like Paul Newman said when asked what qualified him as an actor to be a delegate for presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy at the Democratic National Convention, Paul said he didn’t believe he should be disenfranchised because his profession was acting.

I believe public figures like politicians, athletes and entertainers don’t sign away - literally or figuratively - all their rights to privacy. There’s a range from zero to 100%, it’s not either all or nothing - buy a ticket to one of my movies/shows/games and I’ll tell you everything about me that even my mother and therapist don’t even know about.

It seems that Brad handled himself very well and said it was just “another day in the life” and the photograhers also said he was fine with having his photo taken, also very cool for Brad.

I think this security person was not ready for the crush of photograhpers and probably thought that he was protecting Brad by getting him out of the way. Brad was just not used to getting jerked around without warning. They need to hire better guards who understand the craziness that goes along with being Brad Pitt.

This incident really has nothing to do with privacy, but security and he has a definite right to that. As for privacy, he did not sign it away when he became an actor. He pays taxes, votes and is a citizen, so he has the same rights as we all expect.

He and Angelina as well are pretty cool when they are in public and this is another instance when he was calm when everything around him was crazy. Other more volatile celebrities would probably have been swearing or throwing punches, but Brad stayed cool. Good on him for showing how it is done when insanity surrounds you.

I wonder if maybe the mustache is the cause, he definitely doesn’t look like himself. LOL Although the hat should have been a dead give away especially with the 4 on the side (for his production company I’m assuming).

That was scary either you are Brad Pitt or just an ordinary person. I’m sure Brad understood why the security guard did what he did, as cool & nice as he is, I don’t think the guard will lose his job.
If this incident happen to Brad (I’m sure lots of times) how much more if Angie is with him. There’s big money involved just to get the Brangelina pictures, papz are so insane & out of control.
No wonder Brad & Angie are so protective of their kids while they are in the US.
    God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

I would also like to know why there is no mention of the Vogue December 2008 Issue on your website?? It is related to this couple.

I think Brad and Angie will have a good laugh at home when he tells her about this incident. It’s funny that the guard did not recognise Brad Pitt! He must be new in his job.

I don’t want to sound rude, but can we skip the Vogue and do this instead http://theenvelope.latimes.com/la-en-angelina12-2008nov12,0,7293747.story

I prefer no drama and nice articles, but that is me. Thanks.

The web is on fire regarding Jennifer’s comment towards Angie’s Vogue interview 2 years ago. She will be on Oprah Thursday. She said great things about Brad. She admires him, she is proud of him and so on. Angie is uncool. But there you go. The woman is the target. The whole team Aniston and Jolie has begun again. If Jen had just not mentioned Angie/ but the cover is all about Angie. Next week will be hell at the check out counter.

hey you guys…..i see someone has already found the Vogue Dec. 08 article…..thats what i actually wanted to talk about.
i will leave this site for some time now (i know i will be “dearly” missed by some “hi BlessBrangelina!”:)) but i do NOT want to see people discuss this article and let this whole thing return into a ridiculous catfight.
    my thoughts on this:
i understand perfectly well what Jennifer did. maybe i would have done the same in her position. Angies interview about falling in love on the set of MMS was unsensitive and unnecessary IMO. BUT i am SICK of it, that all three of them seem to use this drama to promote their movies. yes ALL THREE. i am SICK of getting into ridiculous fights with others just because i am a fan of both women. they are both not doing the right thing IMO in making their private life that public. both of them should just move on and NOT speak of the other at all.
Angelina and Jennifer both have lost much sympathy in my eyes because of their behaviour.
i hope that in a few months this all will have settled down. now most of you will blame ONLY jennifer for this situation, but you are wrong. Brad and Angelina have a big part in this whole drama, because of their own actions or interviews.

don´t get me wrong - i still am a fan of Angelina and Jennifer, but i am not in the mood for this ridiculous promotion tour they both are doing right now.

i have the MOST respect for your site Sherry and its by far the BEST site about Angelina and Brad i know. you can be really proud of your work! i especially love your site because you never said anything bad about Jennifer, on the contrary. you always stayed professional and unbiased and mature. i thank you very much for that.
that i am leaving has nothing to do with your site - its just that i don´t want to support the game hollywood is playing with the sympathy of the fans of both sides. both women know that this fight between their fans keep them in the business. i don´t want to play this anymore.

Thank you again for this site Sherry….
perhaps i´ll be back in some months….
    bye bye you guys.

The pictures looked scary. It is like a scene in a movie. It is a good thing Angie or the kids are not there.

    Nov 11, 2008 at 9:13 pm

I second that the Vogue article be left out of this site. It rehashes 2005, and we do not need to go there. Brad and Ange have a good life, and let’s just wish them well and continue to admire their work. It does no good to look back.

Phoebe, I respect your choice. While I disagree with a lot of your points, those are your feelings, and I’ll just respect them. You’ll be missed.

  • Neela

Let’s keep this a cool site for Ange and Brad. While Jennifer may have been his wife at one point, this site is about the JP’s. If anyone feels like discussing Jennifer’s interview, I think it would be better to go to JustJared or JJB or even Perez.

Again, I think this just drags on the triangle that was, which is no longer existent.

Very savvy, and maybe sneaky, of Oprah to have Brad on Wednesday and Jen on Thursday. I wonder if Brad knew, and if he did he agreed anyway.

Bye Phoebe, don’t the door hit you on your out! ;))

But seriously of course you would side with her. You did read the contradictions regarding the end of her marriage.

    “It run it’s course.”
    “It ended amicably”

Who really is to blame? The security guard caught up in the commotion, the photographers taking the pictures or the general public obsessed with celebrity icon gossip.
I find it deplorable that people have such uninteresting lives that they deem it necessary to intrude on others.
It is understandable that the profession actors have chosen exposes them to a certain degree of invasion of privacy, and I am sure that most are quite content to put up with some of it. There are however instances where this invasion is taken to the extreme and becomes a total violation of privacy.
A happy medium needs to be attained in order to keep photographers employed, the general public informed and the celebrity actor allowed a modicum of privacy.
As for the poor security guard he was carrying out his job and during the commotion erred. We are all human. His mistake unfortunately has been displayed on an open platform for all to see.
As for the Vogue December issue. Well what else can be said other than all parties by now should have MOVED on.

Oh my gosh, am I really reading a “news” story about a security guard pushing Brad Pitt!? The incident must’ve lasted 5 seconds at best before the guard was corrected. Must be a record-breakingly slow news day.

SHOCKING NEWS!!! CELEBRITY PUSHED!!! UP NEXT, ANGELINA JOLIE COUGHS WITHOUT COVERING HER MOUTH!!! *gasp*!
