Brad Pitt headed for Venice

by Sherry on July 30th, 2008

Brad Pitt George Clooney Venice Film Festival

Although Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been keeping a low profile since the birth of their babies, Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt. Also, as we all know, Brad has started to threaten legal action against privacy-invading photos, which is especially good what with the creepy pap who trespassed on their property.

But there’s no need to despair. Aside from the hope that we’ll see the babies soon on a People cover, People is also reporting that Brad Pitt and George Clooney will be attending the Venice Film Festival to promote and show the premiere of Burn After Reading.

We haven’t seen Brad on the red carpet since Cannes, so I’m looking forward to it! No word for sure whether Angelina Jolie will also appear on the red carpet in Venice. They always support each other so she’ll likely want to go, it will just depend on how things are going at home.

The Venice Film Festival opens on August 27th, which is the same day that Burn After Reading will premiere, so she might be able to go. It would only be a short visit, and it wouldn’t be too big a deal for them to fly from France to Italy for a day or two; they could probably even bring the babies - or all of the kids - with them for a little getaway.

I can’t wait to see Brad Pitt on the red carpet again!

Awesome…. I don’t like Venice too much (the canals are eew and I have sort of a phobia concerning bridges), but I guess this is gonna be worth the 3 hour ride. :)

I really hope Angelina goes to Venice because I love seeing them on the red carpet together.
If she does not go to Venice, hopefully she would go to the “Changeling” premier in Deaville France.

I think she needs a big rest and should pass on this one (but I can’t understand not liking Venice - sorry Lica, I think it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Each to their own)

I hope Angie walk the red carpet with Brad in Venice, it’s been awhile since we last saw her with Brad on the red carpet, I think it’s about time, after all, the twins will be more than a month old & her in laws are there to help them out, why not take advantage of it, Brad should go with Angie too for her ‘Changeling” premiere. Red carpet will not be exciting without both of them. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

I would expect them to load all the kids and go . they like to disrupt the kid’s schedules..

I hope it will be both Brad and Angie. Also, last year I remember the pictures of the whole family dressed up on one of the boats. Dying to see how they will handle carrying all these children. Zee and Shiloh are still young, and free spirited Pax looks like he always needs to be watched closely. Madd is almost 7 now so he will be the big brother to all.

It will great to see him out and about. I’m sure him and Angelina will do what is best regarding her making the trip.

I randomly pause at this website…when I saw your mention of “Three Cups of Tea” I couldn’t help but comment. There is a way to build peace in the world…one school at a time.

I think they all should go and stay at George’s mansion in Italy for the week. I’d love to see all of them.

Yeah Pearl, so original. I imagine Angelina will be with Brad. They are normally always with each other. It’s probably been a while since they’ve had a night out together alone so i reckon it’s a possibility. Now THAT would be a ray of sunshine, Ligaya…seeing Brad and Angelina walking down the red carpet again! Ooh i love them so much!

it’s been a long while since angie escorted brad on RC and brad had been angie’s accessory (in a good way :P) in RC - Beowulf, KFP & The Changeling in Cannes so it would be nice if she could be there for him.

Pearl, one of the reason’s they “disrupt the kids schedules” is because the family that travels and works together stays together.

They have enough money that it really doesn’t disrupt the kids. As a kid I moved every 2 years, and spent the entire summer at the cottage. Went to my grandmothers once a month if not every other weekend. I found this normal and it didn’t disrupt my life. Why is everyone so set on schedules, they are not the be all and end all to raising children they just make it easier for the parents. Sorry for the rant but “Schedules” bug me, to much of a free spirit, I guess.

Kim reminds me, I went to 13 schools K-12 as a military brat. Lots of military families uproot themselves as the service member’s duty changes. Circus families and diplomatic families have the same situation. And a nomadic lifestyle has been the norm for ages for Icelandic Inuits, Mongolians, Aborigines, North African tribes, Bushmen, etc.

In fact, these nomadic peoples get in a lot of trouble when they settle in cities and have a stationary lifestyle - jobs, family dynamics, discrimination, etc. (Check out Once Were Warriors.)

It would be nice to see both Brad and Angie on the red carpet. Maybe they will just “escape” from the kids for a couple of days. After a hectic month of constant nappies changing and lack of sleep (I can just imagine), it would be nice for them to spend a couple of days just between the two of them.

If Angie is breastfeeding I doubt she will go without babies, or go at all.

I agree re feeding the babies - she needs to sit down and relax and she has said she finds that hard to do! But on nomadic lifestyles: the thing about those tribes is that they all moved around. The one thing I wonder about Brad and Angie and family is that they become their own universe rather than the kids getting to know other kids at school and forming lasting friendships with them. Given how pressured their lives are with paparazzi and so on, it might be better for the kids at some point for there to be one or two places that are called home and where they know their school mates and so on. I recognise this would put pressure on the parents not to film around the world so much.

I just saw I was agreeing with someone with same name as me - I think I will have to be Susan from Australia from now on!

Angelina has said that at some point the family will be more stationary for the kids’ needs.

Turns out military kids aren’t upset so much by moving around, as they are at having their mom, dad, and sometimes both being absent from the family because of being deployed to other places - whether peaceful or war condiitons.

The Armed Forces YMCA’s program for these kids lacked funding until the Jollie-Pitt donation. They just received the first installment; they’ll be funded for 3 years.

“The Armed Services YMCA is extremely proud to work with the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to enable military children and their families to succeed. This donation will go a long way towards helping children affected by the stark realities of war.”

The Y is located at Fort Sill, near Shawnee, OK - Brad’s birthplace, so the donation is even more special. http://www.kswo.com/global/story.asp?s=8769112

Looking forward to Red carpet Brad. It will seem strange if Angie isn’t there.

However I don’t think she will go to Venice or Deauville, because she maybe br**stfeeding.
