Brad Pitt is ready for “Basterds” prequel

Brad Pitt has said it before, but it seems that he’s really serious when he says that he’d love to do a prequel of Inglourious Basterds.
According to E! Online, Brad’s co-star Eli Roth confirmed that there would be no problem with getting the cast back together for another round, saying, “Everybody would drop whatever they’re doing to go back to work with Quentin.” He also added that Brad routinely spoke about doing a prequel and that Quentin Tarantino already has most of it written, including some extra footage that wasn’t used in the original film; rather than using it as bonus features on the DVD, he’s decided to save it for the prequel.
I think it’s pretty exciting that Brad may be in a prequel for Inglourious Basterds since there’s so much backstory that they could tell us. Tarantino is a fabulous director and although he’s never shied away from violence in his films, the thing is he’s also an excellent storyteller so I’ll be looking forward to this!
I think it says a lot, too, about a director when the cast would be ready to come running to film another movie with him!
In related news the Inglourious Basterds DVD, Blu-Ray, and 2-Disc Special Edition in each format will be available on December 15th. Perfect timing for the holidays!

Well, that sounds great and all but, really, it would be kind of difficult for an actor who has committed to one movie to “drop everything” and do another movie. There is a thing called a “contract”!!!! Also, Brad’s committment includes not working when Angelina is working. So, that might cause a small problem given her reported movie schedule. Overall, while I think a prequel is a great idea, I think Eli Roth might just be a bit over excited about this at the moment!! But,it does sound like a great idea.
I don’t think Eli Roth was being literal when he said that, he was just emphasizing how eager and willing everyone is to work with Tarantino again. Of course they couldn’t just sign on if they’re mid-filming with something else, but I think it was just meant to express the strong desire they have to do the prequel.

Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the riverbank, and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the water. When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, “Why are you crying?”
“Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!”
The Lord went down into the water and came up with George Clooney. “Is this your husband?” the Lord asked.
“Yes,” cried the seamstress.
The Lord was furious. “You lied! That is an untruth!”
The seamstress replied, “Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I had said ‘no’ to George Clooney, you would have come up with Brad Pitt.
Then if I said ‘no’ to him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said ‘yes,’ you would have given me all three. Lord, I’m not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands, so THAT’S why I said ‘yes’ to George Clooney.
And so the Lord let her keep him.
The moral of this story is:
Whenever a woman lies, it’s for a good and honorable reason, and in the best interest of others.. That’s our story, and we’re sticking to it..

Sherry – Thanks for the info regarding IB’s DVD release. I missed my opportunity to see it at the theaters, so I’m glad I’ll be able to check it out next month.
Have not seen the first. I’m already thinking about picking up Benjamin Button this season, so maybe I’ll just rent Basterds for now.. yeah, I really am behind.
HAHA. You better believe next time I walk by a river with my husband, I’ll be tossing his ass in.

Mary Ann, I’m not a big movie watcher, but I have to say Benjamin Button is one of the best films I have seen in years. Please watch it, it’s so different than anything I have seen. (:
For the Angie fans.. A friend of mine just emailed me with the new issue of Us Weekly. Apparently she and her dad have really reconciled. But, looking at the cover, it makes me wonder how trustworthy that mag even is.
Anyways, not sure if thats old news or not, since they have apparently been talking since February. xD
This is off the subject from the post above. But I just finished reading jjb mega9 and looked at the covers of the upcoming tabs this weekend. The attack is on again for Angelina. I just don’t see how Angie takes it. This seems to happen whenever they return to the US and especially to LA. She is a stronger woman then me. I could not take it. It really makes me sad that they would publish such lies about her and can’t believe this so call book is supposely coming out. I don’t want to see the tabz or the book. Wish they would just leave them alone and let them live. Maybe one of these days.
Kakes, I read this email joke before and the photo that was usually attached was from one of the Oceans movie. It is really funny. I don’t think Angie is bothered by this so-called tell-all book. The writer of this book also wrote Michael Jackson’s bio five mnutes after his death. (Really money-hungry) This writer is also the person who wrote the Tom Cruise “tell-all bio.” It says unauthorize bio which means his research / source are unreliable just like the tabs.
gena- Try to calm down as far as the book is concerned. The author has said that none of the things the tabs have been claiming will be in the book actually are in the book. I have a feeling it’s going to be a lot tamer than the tabs are trying to convince us. Put it this way, if it WAS going to be as nasty as the tabs are claiming, I’m sure Angie and Brad’s lawyers would have taken action by now!
i haven’t watched the movie! it was not shown here in the Philippines.. so i’m crossing my fingers for a raffle on Pittwatch or in Randi’s site about getting a copy of the dvd.. hehe..
i hope one of you will accidentally buy two copies and has a good heart to put it into raffle again..

Sorry, shouldn’t have brought that mag up in the first place. Didn’t mean to upset anyone.
Books like that belong in the trash. Chances are there may be 5% truths and the rest are either bogus stories or things we already know. IF you must read it, wait until its at your local library. Don’t give “authors” like that your money.
I really wish this story of Inglourious Basterdsd prequel is true. It would be really interesting movie and I would most certainly go and see it. But I have my reservations about that. Brad and Angie have their agreement that they don´t work at the same time and the next one of them who´s gonna work is Brad. But most likely he´ll be making The Moneyball or The Lost City of Z. And after that it´ll be Angie´s trun to work. But who knows. Maybe it´ll be the other way round (Angie working and Brad staying at home with the kids).

Kati- I think it will be Angie’s turn to work first, as another PittWatch commentor said that, per IMDB, The Tourist is supposed to begin shooting in February. Considering that’s only three months away, I doubt Brad will be able to fit in shooting another movie before then.
Hello, something unrelated. Is there any truth to the rumour that Angelina has set another adoption in process for a child from Syria without Brad’s name on the adoption papers? According to South African ‘news’ this is the case and allegedly Brad is not happy with her about it. Can anyone enlighten me?
Bradd is probably the most underrated actors of our time. I bet he will get an oscar for his performance within next few years.

and about Angie working, maybe that’s why they are having a break right now.. it’s just Brad who we see working like promoting the film IB in Japan because Angie will work next year! she couldn’t sign The Tourist if she’s not going to work next year right?? so Brad will have to really stay at home with the kids and they can’t work together right? they already said that one should work while the other should stay with the kids, that’s the way they balance things..
Kimmy, I was away from home most of the day yesterday, volunteering at my oldest daughter’s school. I didn’t really catch up on much when I got home because my youngest has been sick with a bad cough for two weeks, and neither of us is getting much sleep because of it. I’m running on about three hours of sleep per night and I’m so tired that I just couldn’t catch up last night.

Sherry,I hope your daughter will be feeling better soon. I remember when our kids were sick and the lack of sleep. Also, right now everyone is concerned what their children have.
I did want to make a remark, as gently as I can, that when I go into moderation I never question why, I just wait it out. I have been on Pittwatch long enough to know that there is a reason why you are behind. I think everyone needs to just wait it out.

Angela according to local law foreigners aren’t even allowed to adopt Syrian children. That story was from a British tab that OK magazine picked up to make it look like Angie wants to adopt but Brad doesn’t. According to the tabs she is adopting A Burmese, Indian, Russian, a girl from New Orleans, A Philipina, an Ethiopia girl and a Syrian child . All in 2009. As for the books Andrew Morton only said the story about Angie sleeping with mom’s boyfriend isn’t in his book. As for the guy who wrote the MJ book he never denied the stuff in the tabs he simply said he hadn’t spoken to Star magazine. All the stuff they printed came from his website. Trust me he is more vile than all the tabloids combined.
i’m aware i’m prolonging the tabloid talk on here, but just for the sake of argument, i read in the jjb’s that the us weekly cover is misleading, and that apparently, us weekly did their own research and debunked halprin’s claims. i think that’s what i read. i’m looking it up on jjb again just to be sure.
Halperin is a hack, that’s proven from his MJ book and his website. He’s coattailing for money and it’s working.
oops. it wasn’t jjb, but from souliejolie. one of the souliejolie members had read the us weekly issue, and basically, the tabloid was calling halperin’s book a hack. haha. kind of funny and ironic since it’s us weekly debunking the falsehoods this time, and the tabloid went so far as to say that the JPs are happy. i’ll never read us weekly, as it is still tab, and it will probably switch its tune on the jps sooner or later. while to some degree i am glad this tab called BS on halperin, it’s clear it is not above being lowly and trying to cash in on the halperin book by using a misleading cover.
anyway, it’s clear halperin’s a hack. i’ve read customer reviews of his other books, and a lot of them have returned their purchases because it was clear the guy is no real journalist or biographer, but a creative fiction writer. i don’t know how he can live his life that way, making money and writing fiction about celebrities. sadly, there is a market out there for people who eat up scandalous writings, even if they’re false.

Angela – you can’t adopt on Syria because of the Sharia Law. But i’ve read that you can adopt in catholic owned orphanage.. but you have to be both Catholics if you want to adopt and another but on this is that most Catholic run orphanage there is still considering the sharia LAw..
yoco- Very well said. Also, I highly doubt Angie would adopt a child if Brad wasn’t ready to add to the family! All of that said, I actually laughed when I saw OK’s cover. That’s because I failed to see how Angie supposedly filing solo for adoption means Brad isn’t ready for more kids.
I mean, Angie’s name was the only one on the papers when Pax was adopted, too…and it certainly didn’t mean Brad wasn’t ready for more kids! In that case, Angie had adopted as a single parent due to the fact that Vietnamese law makes it difficult for unmarried couples to adopt. As we all know, Brad adopted Pax stateside later on.
The point is, when Angie and Brad do adopt again (I think we all know it’s more than likely going to be when, not if!
), it’s very likely that Angie WILL adopt the child on her own at first, since, from what I’ve read, most countries are like Vietnam and make it difficult for unmarried couples to adopt.
However, just like with Pax (and Maddox and Zahara), Brad will adopt the child stateside later.
All of that said, I DO think their next adoption will be from an African country (since they’ve talked about wanting to “balance the races” and Zahara is currently the only kid without a “match” so to speak), perhaps Ethiopia again.
I’ll bet I know why this last adoption rumor got started, though. I’ll bet anything the tabs pounced on the fact that Angie and Brad were recently in Syria for humantarian work.
