Brad Pitt kicks off your weekend

by Sherry on August 15th, 2008

As we enter into the weekend, I kept thinking of the cute photos of Brad Pitt out with Zahara the other day and I thought, you know what we need? More Brad. Lots more Brad.

I’m looking forward to a weekend with a bit of relaxation, so hopefully this video will offer you some as well.

The song is one of my old favorites, “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer. Enjoy!

Sherry, thanks for the pictures of Brad. I feel that he gets better looking as he gets older. Looks so much like Robert Redford. Alot of us complain about his hats and scruffy face, but I just have this feeling that he has spent the last 20 years looking young and sexy and I think that he has reached a point in his life that he is truly happy and content. And as a result he is being very laid back. He is on his own time now, when he appears on the red carpet in the next few weeks he will be looking really sharp. And what ever look is needed for his next movie he will meet it. I am not crazy about the hats but if he is happy and relaxed so be it.

Thanks Sherry for the video and Ela for the People link. The family pictures are still breathtaking even though I look at them on a daily basis (they’re my screensavers). I’m really looking forward to seeing Burn After Reading, esp. after all the snippets shown on ET last week. Brad is dork extraordinnaire and the Coen brothers say this is one funny movie. It’ll be great to see him (and hopefully Angie) on the red carpet for the premieres.

I really want to see the inside of the french castle they are staying in. Even if it is just one room. I normally wouldn’t care to see just anyones house. BUt you have to admit this just isnt any little house. I am so curious to see how they furnish things. It’s driving me crazy! lol

Thanks Ela & Sherry. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

OMG I can’t believe how hot Brad is. OMG> I think he looks even better with age. I am going to post this on other sites, but why does Brad not have a True Hollywood Story. Angie has one that has been updated at least 2 times. But no Brad. Jennifer has one, Matt D, and I think George does too. But NO BRAD. Who do I see about that? He needs a story soon. (smile)

I am going to see Burn After Reading opening day. I encourage all fans to get out and support our boy(s) George too. I want this movie to do well. I am dying to see Brad/Angie (I hope) George and the other cast members on the red carpet. I hope George and Brad are able to do some press together. I love them. They are a hoot.

    Well have a great weekend.

I can’t help but LOVE this FAMILY and that is what they are, family. I’m glad that HIS parents are there and realize, finally, that his love is Angie & their kids.
Thanks Sherry; you’re the best. Sometimes I feel we/me take you for granted. I love this site and the people who post.
    You’re much appreciated

    Hi JP fans,
At this time I am in Sydney, Australia using my 15 minutes to check on Brad and Angie’s family news. Thank you Sherry for all the updates. I will be in Sydney until Aug. 22nd then headed to Brisbane until Aug. 28, then to Manila. Saw a copy of Hello magazine with the twins and it costs $8.25 here. The People mag I bought in the states was $4.59. Check with all of you later.

Mmm mmm good - Brad is so fiiiiiiiiiine (like we and the song said back in the day). Thanks Sherry and Ela. Everytime I look at the pictures, I find something different to focus on. This time it was Maddox cradling his sibling and looking down tenderly. It kind of reminded me of the Pieta - it had that same feeling.

Hi, Pittwatchers! Been out of town for a couple of days for the Sacramento Film & Music Festival. Came home to hundreds of emails, regular mail and housekeeping to catch up with. Will catch up with Pittwatch later. Plus I need to prepare for some major oral surgery tomorrow. I am TOTALLY needle and dental PHOBIC. Just thinking about it makes me shudder. I always need general anesthesia, novocaine and laughing gas isn’t enough. And my dentist isn’t experienced enough to find my tiny veins easily, so he usually has to poke more than once and wiggle around – MAJOR OUCH. So today, lots of meditation, deep breating exercises, listening to calming music, and watching dvds guaranteed to make me laugh (best medicine).

Melodie, good luck on your exams. :-)

P.S. My friend Ermena Vinluan’s documentary “Tea & Justice” – keep an eye out - had its West Coast premiere at the festival. It’s about 3 AsianAmerican women who became the first Asian American women cops at NYPD, and their struggles to overcome sex and race discrimination at work, at home and in the community. Ermena framed a copy of the check we sent her because we were the first she received from a fundraising appeal. :-)

6 degrees – Helen Mirren and Ermena brushed shoulders when Mirren and Ermena performed in a at the same play festival in the 1970s.

I made sure I wrote down the date of Burn After Reading showing on the fridge. I will drag my husband to the theater with me on the first day. Can’t wait to see it. I really hope Angie will be with Brad in Venice for the Premiere, Grammy & Papa can watch the g-kids with the help of their nannies.
Lucy, thanks for the update of your vacation to Australia. Next update will be in the Philippines. BBL. I have to go to Barnes & Noble Book Store to get my Hello mag. copy.God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

    this is off-topic:

ligaya, i live in sacramento, and while i heard about the festival, i haven’t had the chance to attend it. i know it’s not as big as the sfiff, but is it just as interesting? a few months ago, i was able to speak to one of the festival directors because i was doing research for a graphic design proposal i was preparing for my class. unfortunately, we only talked about promotional artifacts for the festival, and not much about what the festival is like. so, i’d like to hear about your experience.

also, just wondering, have you heard any updates on japan town’s cherry blossom festival? my friends and i were in the city last weekend, and we were surprised to hear about the festival’s potential demise, so we signed a petition to save it. i can’t imagine there are people who want it gone. that and the sfiff are among the biggest deals in the city, especially because they help promote diversity. i hope it will be saved.

Ligaya, hope all is well with your surgery. I have also been out of the country on business for most of last week. I’m still checking with my friend about payment details but she is currently on holiday until 25 August. We’ll have to wait I guess.

angie is such a great people. she looks so happy to help the ones who need it! she is really a model for all of us. i think (and it’s my personnal opinion) she made brad a better people (he was already great, but she helped him to become the one he wanted to be).
i think it’s great she sometimes took maddox with her. she is really a great people.

Thank you so much lara for the beautiful video. Angelina is such a young woman and it is hard to imagine that only seven years ago at 26 she was a Hollywood starlet. Then Maddox came into her life and together (as the video shows) they change the path of her life. I’m so very proud of her as much as I’m proud of my own daugthers. Angelina walks the walk and talks the talk. She will achieve so much more because the world is mesmerized with her. Regardless how some people view Angelina she is a force to be reckon with. God bless the Jolie-Pitts

Lara, thanks so much letting us know about that video. This is what is so confusing to me, anyone that watches that video or others relating to her helping others, how can they think anything bad about her. And you are all right when you say that she has brought all of this now for Brad to share. And they in turn will teach their children to care about mankind.

Roseanne Barr is apparently not so fond of Jon Voight nor his daughter. She blogged about it on her website:

I am glad you liked it. I was very moved by it, also.
keats, she is mesmerizing indeed. At least to me. And not because she is a movie star, due to all the things she does for those in need. She does everything that I would do, if I had the means. She once said something that I absolutely love: that she wants to be a citizen of the world. And she became that, in my opinion. She trully is a fosrce, as you said.
Mary Ann, the same thing confuses me, too. In the beginning, I was shocked and outraged. I still am, but now I’m trying to be more calm about it :p I do not always succede, though:)) I still feel the the need to respond to those who say really mean and unthought things. I just don’t like people who talk just for the sake of it. Fortunately, except a few cases, I’ve seen on this site very smart and down to earth people. It is a very warm, relaxing and wellcoming place. Angelina has the fans that she deserves. She is smart, warm, kind, down to earth, strong and she can only atract the same kind of people.

Just ignored that Roseanne Barr blog. Clearly she has no idea what’s going on. Most recent donation is 14 million and that most definitely surpasses 3 million, not to mention 3 million is already plenty more than most celebrities. And Pax is vietnamese not thai. Roseanne Barr = Clueless.

Passerby, I wanted to tell that I also saw the trailer for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button during the Olympics and I’m glad that you mentioned!! I read the novella by Fitzgerald so I’m anxious to see the film that will be coming out in December. It looks fasinating and with Cate Blanchett it should be a winner. Roseanne Barr and I’m not sorry to say, is a disgrace. Everyhing she does is vile. The woman has no talent, I remember singing the National Anthem and that showed us the level of crude.

Unfortunately, I did see a part of Roseanne’s post on JustJared. I really wish he hadn’t put it up.

But considering that the tirade belongs to Roseanne, there’s no point getting into a huff about it. It’s Roseanne. She just feels the need to stay relevant in the public eye.

Roseanne has had so many issues in her life that it surprises me that she would put someone else down. There is no comparison between Angelina and Roseann. One is a do gooder and the other is a foul mouth person who I have never heard about doing anything good for anyone.

Fan from VN, no worries - I’m in no rush. December 31 is OK. :-)

Thanks for your good wishes, everyone. ;-) I’m fine now except for a swollen mouth - aspirin takes care of any pain. Have to return next month - hopefully not as major as this time. :-( All the money I spent on my teeth for the past 10 years could have gone to another cruise with my husband and mom. Oy vey!!!

OT: Neela, the official website has the 2009 schedule of events for the Cherry Blossom Festival - so it lives, at least for another year. I haven’t read each page of the Chronicle lately, but I haven’t heard of its imminent demise. Hope it’s not true, it’s a great little festival even if not as big as Chinatown’s NY parade. The SFIFF brings a lot of people for sure, and is one of the biggest things on the City’s calendar. A friend works in the city department which deals with street closings for parades, events, filming, etc., she says the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender/Questioning Parade brings the most people to SF - up to almost half a million.

My husband and I definitely want to go back to the Sacramento Film & Music Festival (if only for the gorgeous art deco movie palace masterpiece - the Crest Theater). I read the program and there were a lot I would have seen. There were 4 shorts shown with “Tea & Justice.” One was outstanding (5 stars), 2 were very good (4 stars, and 1 so-so. Things we liked about a small festival: relaxing and doable vs. frenetic pace, more affordable, chance to discover new talent and different experiences not likely to be seen in the bigger festivals, easier to get called on in the Q&A, more chances of talking with the filmmakers personally, more personal. SFIFF and other big festivals often have the same films shown - the best of these will reach the theaters. The competition for getting chosen by the big festivals is fierce; I think a couple of years ago, Sundance got about 2000 submissions, this year it got 4000. So I think there are a lot of good films that don’t make it - hopefully, they’ll be chosen for smaller festivals like the Sacramento Film & Music Festival. We weren’t there long enough so I don’t know about the music part.

Thanks, Ligaya. I really appreciate your post. I’m thinking of volunteering for the Sac Film & Music Festival, but I wasn’t sure. But now, I have at least some idea of what the event is like. So, I appreciate your insight. It’s a good observation of what a small festival is like. I’m also thinking of volunteering again for the SFIFF. It’s been 2 years since I’ve done it, and it is frenetic.

I envy you coz you’ve been to Sundance. I’d like to attend it someday.

Yeah, I also heard the GBLT Parade is big. My friends had just gone to the recent one. I’d like to attend one one of these years. Have you been to it?
