Brad Pitt shuts down private photos
The pictures that were posted earlier of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their family (not including the twins who were likely sleeping inside) in their yard in France were soon removed from the paparazzi website. There was a lot of questioning as to why someone would take down photos of one of the most photo-stalked celebrity families in the world. The answer may be because according to Reuters, Brad Pitt has threatened legal action against anyone who has taken and sold/published photos of his family on their private land.
They also mention that Brad and Angelina have agreed to allow the first exclusive photos of the twins to “a U.S. publication”. They say it’s for $11 million but no one has ever actually confirmed how much they’ve paid for exclusive photos in the past, so that may be a simple speculation. As always, the money will be given to charity.
The part of the article that appears to be directly related to the Bauer Griffon Online site states, “one unspecified photo agency that had already sold the pictures had agreed to stop further sales and removed them from its Web site.” Well, HA.
And if you’re wondering who bought those pictures? It may very well be In Touch Weekly, which is claiming on their new cover the following headline: “Baby Joy - First Photos. World Exclusive: Angelina, Brad & the kids celebrate the birth of the twins.”
Obviously, they’re not the ones who have secured the twins’ photos or they’d be on the cover. It would seem that they purchased the photos taken in the yard with an extremely long lens (from where? In a tree? A helicopter? Who knows?), which don’t even have the twins in the photos at all.
I’m glad that Brad is pushing for legal action and I hope they go after the magazine as well. And In Touch wonders why Brad and Angelina prefer to deal with People. Duh.

By the way, thank you so much to everyone who offered up good wishes and prayers for my youngest daughter. She sailed through her surgery just fine. She was in there for over three hours which felt like forever but it ended well. She was groggy and out of sorts yesterday and the anesthesia made her a bit sick to her stomach but other than being sleepy today she is mostly back to normal.

Sherry, I am a fan of your website but I do feel that you are being a bit hypocritical with your criticism of the paparazzi. You did post a link to those photos before they were taken down so that fans like us would be able to view them. By this very website and your link to such photos, you are encouraging the paparazzi to take such invasive photos of the Jolie-Pitt family.

I’m glad Brad made the move he did. At least I wouldn’t be forced to look at the pictures, not I really make an effort not to look, for which as I’ve said many times, I feel guilty about. Still, I do hope he’ll really be able to stop them this time (keeping my fingers crossed). I’m just going to quit looking for now.

I don’t believe a thing any tabloid says ever. Unfortunately, Us Weekly is probably laughing all the way to the bank with the massive free publicity they’re getting. I’ve gotten several alerts today, and both tabloids and mainstream media are repeating the in vitro story around the world. They credit the tabloid, and it’s not explained that it *is* a tabloid and therefore totally unreliable.
As for their ’stats,’ there’s a saying about “lies, damn lies, and statistics.” Stats can be manipulated to present the result that’s wanted. What, doesn’t Brad’s sister have twins - naturally? Doesn’t his family have a history of twins? Does this mean twins always happen ONLY through IVF? How did twins happen before IVF? Does IVF never ever result in a single birth? Who is this guy, what are his qualifications, and why should we believe him? There should at least be a second opinion - independent verification.

I don’t know if anyone has heard that again Us Weekly is up to their lies, stating that Angie’s twins where through in vitro. It seems that this magazine is persistent in publishing lies. Now I’m not surprised why from the very beginning, I was never interested in purchasing this magazine, I only buy People, I don’t like trash magazines.

I also am glad that Brad has taken this step. I love seeing pictures of all of them, but not when the paps are flying over their yard with long lens.
As for Lainey, the few times I have read her I was not to happy with her choice of words. I don’t like her calling Shiloh the Chosen One. And Ligaya I now see what you have been talking about, where there is no mention of Madd, Pax and Zahara in the story. I have said before that the paps will do everything in their power to pit these children against each other.

Actually, US Weekly has no proof they are make a speculation but unfortunately every internet blogs or media jump this stupid story easily to get a hit. Is Us Weekly is reliable? No. There months ago they wrote that Angie did not expect twins. What about JL twins? or Julia Roberts twins? They don’t cover them because Angie is a target now. Nobady knows anything about this family. I wonder how Brad&Angie can deal with so much stupidity?

yeah, i’ve never believed anything us weekly has printed because they are just another tabloid. and whether the twins were conceived naturally or in vitro, they are still wonderful gifts from the heavens. and i don’t see anything wrong with in vitro; they wouldn’t be any different from other couples and single parents that choose this as an option. however, the story comes from us weekly who always cite “sources close to the couple.” not even sure any of what they say is hearsay; i’m inclined to think janice min’s “writers” just fabricate.

I’d like to know when Angie and Brad had time to do invitro? I really don’t think they were trying to conceive the first year after Shiloh was born, as they’d just adopted Pax at that time. Most docs will tell couples to wait one year before moving on to fertility drugs.
Do they know how many doctor’s visits are required to do in-vitro? Do they realize that Angie’s comings and goings were pretty well documented in October, when they were in New York?
So, if they waited 1 year after Pax was adopted, which was November, um, wasn’t she filming Changeling then? Also, She was already pregnant by December. Jon Voight also said there were twins on his side of the family as well.
I personally believe that it happened just as it did with Shiloh: she stopped taking The Pill and conceived.

Angelina Jolie: Being Pregnant with Twins Was a ‘Shock’
Angelina Jolie has talked candidly about her desire to continue expanding her family with Brad Pitt. But when the actress found out she was pregnant with twins, well, even she was taken aback.
“We weren’t expecting twins,” Jolie, 33, tells Entertainment Weekly in a new interview. “So it did shock us, and we jumped to six [children] quickly. But we like a challenge.”
With a house full of kids, Jolie says she needs help – so it’s a good thing there’s family around to pitch in. “[Brad’s] mom and dad are on standby to come out and help,” she says.
But the real focus, Jolie says, is making sure their other children – Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 – feel included when their new siblings are born. Says the actress: “They’re old enough to feel included to change diapers themselves, to feed bottles themselves, like if I pump into a bottle. We’re trying to find ways where it can be a fun group thing … Everybody gets special time so we can make sure we know where they’re at.”
As for how she’s handling being pregnant with twins, the actress tells EW she’s taking it easy and letting Pitt handle all the heavy lifting – literally. “We’ve worked out a system where Brad just lifts [the kids] to me every time they want to come up,” she says. “I just don’t bend down. I’ll scream, ‘Honey!’ and he’ll come running and lift them up.”
And pregnancy has other benefits as well. “It’s great for the sex life,” she says. “It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”

I also saw that magazine today (OK?) that had a picture of Shiloh (it was a cute picture) and that said “Shiloh meets the twins.” It really was horrible because they did not mention the other brothers and sisters ! I am not one to call racism left and right but that strikes me as racist. So because Shiloh is Brad an Angie’s biological child, she gets coverage, and because the other kids are adopted and originally from different continents they don’t???? I am amazed that a magazine would do something so blatantly biased in this day and age.

so far, everyone has agreed that the recent us weekly cover/article is pretty much a lie. right now, we’re just discussing our thoughts on it.
but really, there hasn’t been a heated debate or arguments on this site, and actually, it has been a while, which is really nice. only a couple of strays (on another entry) have posted a scathing judgment against the fans, but even they weren’t really given too much attention.
it’s nice to see that everyone has been respectful of everybody’s thoughtful opinions on this site. i’m really glad this site exists because while i enjoy reading entertainment blogs, they still refer to tabs for an entry, and their comments sections are the one place i can’t bother to peruse because of ugly comments. the anonymity the internet provides brings out the worst in people. and another reason this site is such a pleasure to visit is because it does not post every “news” or gossip that is printed about the JPs. sherry does her best to furnish entries that stick to the truth and at the same time, post ones that are thought-provoking.

You mean when Shiloh debuted to the world in the People photospread? The cover was Angelina looking at Brad with total love, Brad was looking at Shiloh with total llove, and Shiloh was in the middle. (A slightly different cover version appeared on OK!) Plus there were several pages of photos inside.

I don’t believe the tabloids but the pictures even taken without their knowledge is so hard to resist not to look at them because they are an amazing family. I’m glad Brad did something about this, it’s long over due. The papz are getting out of hand & with the new little ones, I am all for it. For their safety & for their privacy that’s one step for the papz to set their boundaries.
I would say I’m one of the lucky ones who saw their latest pictures before they took them out of the internet. Don’t worry, they are living a happy life. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

I have to say that most of the comment I have seen on line do not believe this story. It is sad that this couple has to go through this all the time. People are always saying that they are playing to the media. These pictures were taken in their home. When they are not promoting a film or project, we dont see pics of them. Again haters never take this in consideration. I don’t know how they handle the consistant coverage. I say a picture of Jen Gardner out with her daughter at the park and store, the story headline was Jen the perfect Mom. When Angie goes to the store she is mobbed. This must be a tough juggling act. I guess it must bring the two of them closer together. I feel a little sorry for them.

ligaya, I absolutely agree with you about the IVF thing. These lies have become so rediculous that you just know immediately that they are not true!
The only websites that I visit for updates of the JPs are Pittwatch and People. I sometimes go to JJ for photos of Angie and Brad especially when they are on the red carpet as JJ seems to have a good supply of photos. But I would always try to avoid the comments there.

I can tell you that just because twins are fracternal it does not mean anything. My older brothers were fracternal and I can tell you that my parents did not have them via IVF, they were still poor students in Africa at the time. I read that front cover and swore at it in my head. That being said even if it was IVF, who the hell cares? Does it make the children less wonderful for medical intervention? I think people are too quick to stick their noses into what is non of their business.

Sherry, and all of the faithful here at Pittwatch, you know me as someone who doesn’t like to create waves, but I am very upset (pis_ed) about something that I just read on CNN. Sometime Friday morning two papz were found on the property of the Jolie-Pitts and they and the bodyguards came to blows. The police were called and everyone was taken into town. What has me really upset is one of the statements made by the police spokeswomen. She said something to the effect: I wouldn’t hide from you that this kind of thing is not really interesting to us.There are more important things than paparazzi taking photos of a glamor couple. Is this lady nuts, what if the papz got close to the children or worse yet they are not what the represent to be, but someone who would love to do harm to the family. Jolie-Pitt body guards were doing their job, these people were on private property. End of story, no if, ands or buts.

I agree with di’s comment, in that I think we’re all a bit hypocritical. We all leave comments here on this site declaring our contempt at the papz and how invasive they are, yet most of us here looked at the photos to which Sherry posted a link. Irregardless of what you think, Sherry, (re. you comment that you did not post the photos, just the link), by posting said link and all of us looking at the photos, we are indeed encouraging this intrusion of privacy.
Having said that, I want to also write that I think that pittwatch is a wonderful site with great news on our favorite family. So please don’t go maligning me for just bringing a tad of criticism about ALL of us (me included!) into this discussion.

The story about the break-in was disturbing. I feel that people in the public should expect to be photographed when they are “in public”. However, someone crawling around on your private property is not good. How would you feel if someone was hanging in a tree taking a photo of you and your family? People who constantly go to playgrounds, to the Ivy, the Grove and other paparazzi magnet spots are the true manipulators. This couple rarely goes anywhere, the paparazzi have to come to them.
If they were causing “hoopla” I would agree, but they are just living at their home trying to avoid the madness, but it comes to them, which is not their fault, that is why they have security.
On the red carpet, even shopping or at a public restaurant (though it is still intrusive) being photographed can be accepted, but in your own home, absolutely not.

terry, i agree. while some feel that the JPs are overexposed or that they manipulate, i, on the other hand, give a lot of fault to the media for why people feel such thins. it is the media that does go to them and try to find stories (each week) that they can construct around the JPs. the media creates the maelstrom of influence or overhype. note the overabundance of false headlines that have been printed about brad & angie (& family) since they came together. as far as i’m concerned, brad and angie are just actors and humanitarians, who also deserve some privacy. and to a large extent, brad and angie have a right as to what goes out there when their family is concerned. they have their children to consider. i don’t think they expect to be treated like ordinary, common people. it is certainly too late for that. but i think they are trying to live their life as normally as they possibly can (whatever is normal for a famous family), and they deserve that.
it’s quite easy for many of us to speculate and pass judgment (especially when we’ve been tainted by media clutter), but none of us have been in their position, so, who knows what decisions we would make if we were in their shoes. and from one human being to another, i’d just rather give them the benefit of the doubt with whatever choices they make.

I can understand the police comment. With all the crime and murder going on I really don’t think some paparazzi pictures are going to interest them much. And I personally don’t think they should have to waste the tax payers money on this type of thing. It is similar to the police here sitting around giving out speeding tickets making a quota and not out solving really crimes. I do believe trespassing is a real crime and the paps should be charged but this is out of control can you imagine the expense if they have to have a cop at the main gate all the time to control the paps. Kind of like that poor spears girl, and the poor Cali tax payers that had to pay for it. They seemed to have more privacy in Taxis and New Orleans then they do now.

I’m sorry but whether you’re famous or not you are entitled to a bit of private time. They are actors but they are also a family and that comes first and foremost to them. Everyone is entitled to a family and private time. Those pictures of them on their own property are out of order! And no they don’t “manipulate the public” as you put it in fact i’m sure when they were all relaxing and having fun in their own garden the public was the last thing on their mind.. Until the helicopter flew over atleast..

Mary Ann, I’m with you! Really, do we know for certain these photo stalkers were just after a photo? LORD! It is soooo infuriating! This women just had her second C-section, to give birth to twins. She needs her rest, as well as time to enjoy being a new mom and adjusting her other children to the new additons. Does France not have stalking laws? Thats exactly what these low life heartless degenerates are doing, STALKING! I swear, if I could, I’d fly to France and spend all day following these people around talking their pic and detailing every nasty habit and offense they commit. Everything from nose-picking to littering. As I’m sure these wankers do.
We need to creat a JP army and protect them. I only hope the family realizes there are good people in this world that respect them and wish them well.

Mary Ann and Kari, thank you for noticing how Maddox, Pax and Z are treated unequally, and thanks for sharing your observations. Within their family, the children are loved equally – remember when Brad was talking with Larry King about the Make It Right Project? He said how he loved how his kids were born in all different countries (including Shiloh), they were of his blood and he was of their blood.
The family isn’t the problem, it’s the world outside their family that will inevitably intrude with its prejudices about multiracial adoptees. The kids will have access to the internet and can google themselves and find all the horrible things said about them and their parents. Unless they’re put in a bubble or sequestered like Sleeping Beauty, sooner or later they’ll see those tabs in a supermarket, convenience store, newsstand and bookstore. To say nothing of people who will delight in telling them mean things.
We all love Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. What’s not to love? They’re so cute and beautiful. But it would be a shame, as well as hurtful, if Angelina and Brad’s biological white kids were favored over their multiracial adopted siblings. In my family and experience, that’s led to a lot of heartache.

I have to agree with those who are saying,this couple aren’t asking for this.
look we have a couple here who don’t go to grocery,shopping,or even don’t go to any RCs unless it is their own RCs.they don’t go to Park unless they are in the town like NYC which all homes are apartment without any yard.they don’t even go to fundraiser even When they give money to them.but yet we have a people who complain that they are so tired of this couple.
Isn’t it because they very well know this couple are trying to be as far from HW as they can?isn’t it because although they are not playing HW’s game but they have fans more than any other couple out there?isn’t it because they don’t spend their money on hairsalon,expensive clothes and things like this?isn’t it because they are a couple who don’t live according their law?

All the ruckus caused by the paparazzi and overexposure by the tabloids somehow have been turned upside down – that it’s the Jolie-Pitts fault. NO, it’s the paps and the tabs that are inconveniencing ordinary people and making huge profits from it . This is blaming the victim big time, and we need to find some way to stop or at least temper it. It’s also the fault of all the people who buy the tabs and click on gossip websites, and then have the gall to complain that the fame*****s are overexposed.

Dear Sherry so glad your daughter is doing well. To the subject at hand (believe it or not) I was one of those people the would buy every magazine that came out about the JPs. Boy was I spending a lot of money. But just as suddently I wised-up and realized that the pictures I loved to see and the stories that came with them were a pack of lies. Made up stuff. But I still love to see the this amazing family. Sorry I’m weak for the JP and kids.

Tired of the hoopla? Don’t read any of it. I don’t see the Jolie-Pitts acting Heidi and Spence. Like every single one of us, if the media was to shine a light on us, of course we want to be at our best. If that’s manipulation, then it is. Every other actor and entertainer does the same. And don’t forget we’re also manipulated by the mainstream media, our government, corporations, etc.
Marsala, it’s a common misconception that actors and other entertainers owe it to us to expose their whole lives – private and public. I agree with Rach, no actor has signed anything that says she is giving up not only all her privacy, but her family’s too. And also giving up her right to free speech and to participate in politics. Actors have constitutional rights just like the rest of us.
Some people think actors are stealing money from our pockets so they should at least do what we want. But are we the public getting nothing from this exchange? For $6-10, we get entertained for a couple of hours by the actors and the 100s of people that it takes to make a movie. We can forget our troubles for a little while. We laugh and cry, live in other worlds, other lands and other times. We can be thrilled and scared. We get together with our friends and family, and have fun. We can have something to talk about. And given what other entertainment costs (Broadway $300 each), movies are our cheapest form of paid entertainment. It’s even cheaper renting the DVD.

P.S. Actors’ pay is just a tiny part of the ticket price. The majority goes to theater owners who buy the nice cushy stadium seats that we demand, the latest screen technology including DLP, 3D, and Imax, Dolby/THX sound, projectors, electricity bill, staff, security; the distributors; promotion/publicity; studios; director, writer, director of photography, editor, consultants, composer and musicians, film labs, on-location filming that we demand, sets, props, hair and makeup, costumes, lots and lots of CGI people, lots of sound and foley people, grips/best boys etc., clearances, stuntment, drivers, set doctor/nurse, catering/craft table, production assistants, maybe animal wranglers.

Wow, the movie people don’t seem to think so. George Lucas, who’s pushed the technology the most and probably uses the most bluescreen/greenscreen technology, said human actors will never obsolete.
Robert Zemecki’s motion-capture technology needs human actors as templates.

I know some do not feel it is the police job to go to their place to handle the problem with the papz invasion. I just want to ask the question– if someone was in your backyard uninvited what would you do. If you take matters into your own hands then you are in trouble. So who do you call?
I agree with Brad, their privacy is being invaded. I feel we the public are guilty for the pics are being taken for money which we provide when we look at the pics.
I feel bad about this for I enjoy looking at the pics of the family. Can anyone think of any other couple who are stalked like Brad and Angie?

I am glad that Brad Pitt will be doing something for his family to protect them. Why can’t you people leave them alone. They want to live a simple normal life, fortunately they have alot of money. I am a very private person and I will do the same thing if somebody invaded my privacy especially trespassing. There are other stories covered among rich and famous people who are not celebrities but really rich people why dont you give you attention to them rather than pressing more pressures to push of more unecessary situations. I hope that people will stop buying magazines that will not be approved by the jolie-pitt families so this paparazi’s will stop annoying the rich and famous especially angelina and Brad. Brangelina I will always pray for you and your family and please continue on helping and making things right to save lives and people in need. My vote will be with you and we will always support your good deeds. Thank you for being the best geniune person in the world and that includes angelina.
