Pittwatch.com: Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Gossip

Brad Pitt Speaks on Mumbai Debacle

by Robyn on November 17th, 2006

As Madd says, “they finally got what they want, Brad talking to the media“:

“This is not what Angelina and I wanted. This contradicts the message of the film we are trying to make.

“Angelina and I have a multi-racial family, we want them to respect and understand different religions,” he said.

“Maybe we should have explained our intentions when we first got here. We would not hire anyone who is racist or who would hurt or push a child,” added Pitt.

However, he did make it plain that, “he was absolutely certain that nobody who works with him was capable of religious bias.”  From the “EXCLUSIVE” branding all over the article, one can see that NDTV is quite excited to get this story. The police chief says Brad told him:

“I am sorry for whatever has happened and for any inconvenience caused to the sentiments of people. We love children and would not do anything to harm them.”

The sad thing is that it was the papparrazzi’s fault that any of this occurred.  Apparently while the film crew had permission from the school to film there, the papparrazzi stormed into the gates to get shots and in the process trampled those around them.  It was not the Jolie bodyguards that began this mess, but they did usher Angelina inside (4 hour confinement) to get away from the throng.

This is what Angie meant when she said:

“It is not surprising that the press involved failed to mention their share of the responsibility in the chaos.”

    Pitt: We respect all religions

“There were dozens of media cameramen at the school and they would have shot the misbehaviour if it had taken place,” he said.

There is one advantage of starting a rumor is that anybody can say anything whether it is true or not. I am not familiar with Indian Law but it looks like the media has something to do with this incident too and blew this whole thing out of proportion. I hope they are done filming soon before more misunderstanding will follow. Was this incident after the press conference or before? Because I think, the media was disappointed that Brad was not at the press conference.

I agree Lucy. It does appear they expected Brad and not just Angie.

I think a few (”when you do the math and considering the population of India-over a billion people a few thousand is a drop in the bucket”) have placed a negative light on the whole and thats sad.

Every place has its issues, but a lot of the media in general there is sadly dictated by the sensationalism of a story, along with what perception the people already have about a subject. Interestingly enough, the perception is a direct result of the the manipulation that has been done at the start by the media!

I got the above opinion straight from a born and bred Indian friend. There is so much competition amongst the thousands of papers….I was told that its nothing for a suppliment to have 3 editions a day! The am-afternoon-eve, and just imagine three times a day you’re reading/hearing nothing but negative reports about someone whom you’ve never met or even seen, and your hearing what amounts to basically only one viewpoint, and not a very complimentary one. One is bound to form an opinion that the person is who they are reporting them to be; guilty till proven innocent.
