Brad Pitt spotted in France!

Now we know where Brad Pitt was going when he was seen at JFK airport in New York yesterday. Brad was spotted in France, Marseilles, specifically.
He was looking pretty happy even after the flight, and really darn sexy too, I must add.
No official word yet on what he’s doing there. Because Inglourious Basterds is done with filming and he’s not currently filming anything else, he doesn’t need to shoot any scenes. It’s possible that it has to do with the Cannes Film Festival coming up in May. Other possibilities include something to do with Plan B, where he may need to check on a location or attend a business meeting over there if one of the upcoming movies is being filmed in France.
Naturally, we can expect a great deal of gossip due to him showing up alone. The tabloids will have a field day, so brace yourselves. Of course the real reason Angelina Jolie is not there right now is because she’s still filming!

I think maybe he went to check on his property,I remember reading in either US or People that he was going to start a 12 million dollars renovation on the property this past January.They said they leased the property at first to see if everyone would gell,they loved it so much that they intend to buy it when the lease is up and make that their home base.So who knows maybe he is checking on everthing before the family goes over for holidays?.

Love that he still had the necklace on. Gee is this story true that he and Angie bought that house? I don’t remember seeing anything like that. Thought that it was just a rental during the time they were waiting for Knox and Vivi and then after they came home. I think he will wrap up whatever business is going on and get back to his family in NY. Wonder if PopPop and Grammie are there visiting for the holiday. Or maybe Uncle James.

goodness gracious! papa Pitt is looking so freakin’ h0t!!! just look at those photos, he is truly a Benjamin Button, he keeps on looking younger! and that pink necklace is just the sweetest. i bet the girls made it for him and made him wore it! i’ve read somewhere that he’s there to check the renovation for they’re reportedly gonna stay there over the summer. dunno if that’s true though.

angela: i read the same thing: they made some renovations in miraval. so, we have to expect that they’ll be back to france in may (due to the cannes film festival)

There is an article in French that claims the family will spend Easter in NOLA with Brad’s parents. Someone translated it on jjb,the article said he’s checking on renovations at miraval. I don’t how they would know their Easter plans ,heck we still don’t were they spent Christmas 08.
THIS is not a rumour BRAD specifically said that they have chosen France for their home base because the kids can run freely,and they get along well with their neighbours and its just a nice place.They have plunked down 12million dollars to refurbished the place ,he has also put his MALIBU mansion on the market for 18 million dollars so this is going to be their primary residence.Both of them plan on buying MIRAVAL when the Lease is up in two years so really it’s their’s its not a part time home thats their main home.
Jackie – Do you have a source for where Brad said that? I’d like to post about it but I like having a proper source to quote from and refer to when possible.
I am so happy to see a smile on his face! At least I know he’s somewhat happy. Wow love that pink necklace too and I do hope they stay at that Miraval house. They were very happy there, away from prowling eyes.Good for them. Happy Easter everyone!

jackie- I can tell you it wasn’t PEOPLE that reported that, as I subscribe and haven’t seen a thing about that in any of their recent issues.
Anyway, why does it seem like every property they buy or lease under goes renovations? I mean, Sassafras, the place they reportedly leased in LI, is undergoing renovations (which is why they are apparently currently staying at Rosehearty), and now Mireval is also under going renovations.
I’m not in anyway complaining, just geniunely curious. I also wonder why, if they wanted to renovate, they didn’t do it while they were in France last year (although I suppose they figured it was best to just relax during the final months of Angie’s pregnancy!).
Oh, and one other thing I wonder is how they can renovate Mireval when it’s not techincally theirs yet.
All of that said, I have mixed feelings about them possibly having their home base in France. On the one hand, I’m glad they’ll have the privacy they deserve. On the other hand, I’m worried we might never see the kids if they move to France.
In anycase, I hope that, if they ARE going to buy Mireval (which, by the way, I thought wasn’t currently on the market!), they’ll still keep their homebase in NOLA as well.
I also hope that the older kids won’t be jealouse about the fact that Knox and Viv will be getting to live in their birth country most of the time (whereas the older kids won’t be living in their birth countries). I think the U.S. is good for them in that none of the kids were born there, so it’s “neutral” when it comes to birth countries.
Oh, and I agree with cassie. How can the French press possibly know the J-Ps Easter plans?
I forgot to mention that Brad’s Malibu mansion also underwent renovations around the time Shiloh was born. However, in the case I remember hearing the reason, which was that it wasn’t safe for kids.
Oh, and this DEFINITELY puts the kabosh on those rumors that they are in the Phillipenes!

Hello everyone, Love reading the post. I have been away from pittwatch for a bit, but really love this friendly site..
Regarding all the renovations. Brad is a nut about building. He worked forever on that home he and Jen owned as well as the Malibu house. I think he has an obsession (smile). It is lucky I think that Angie is a woman that does not care that much about decorating and just turns it over to him. She has said he has great taste. I too found it funny that changes would be made on a property that you do not own. But then we don’t know what is going on. Can’t wait for Cannes. Hope Angie will be with him. I just love them.
JPF-so you want brad and angelina to live in cambodia for 2 months, vietnam for 2 months, ethiopia for 2 months, namibia for 2 months and france for 2 months so the kids don’t get jealous of where they are living? lolololol!
Changes are going on because it is property,yes it may have been leased but it was on a rent to buy basis they have made uup their mind that this is going to be there base and thats why Brad can do whatever he wants.The only thing left to do is two years time to finish the paperwork and take it officially.
Debra77- If Angie DOESN’T do the RC with Brad at Cannes, I’ll actually be a little worried! It’s extremely rare for them to do RCs alone (in fact, the most recent example I can think of is last summer, when Brad had to do promotion for Burning after Reading, and Angie stayed in France as she was still recuperating from having the twins.).
And as for changes being made on a property you don’t own…Actually, what confuses me is that I don’t know how you could possibly get away with that! I mean, usually when you’re renting or leasing, the most you can do is paint the walls, if even that!
Also, the Chateu Mireval is apparently a working vineyard. I don’t know how it would be possible for them to buy it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention yesterday in regards to the Phillipenes rumors that I have to chuckle at the fact that Brad is (or at least was as of yesterday) clearly in France and Angie clearly in NYC shooting Salt…yet some sources are STILL claiming that they’ve been sighted at that hotel in the Phillipenes.
I know Angie and Brad are amazing people, but even they cannot be in two or three places at once!
taylor- No, not at all! I don’t think I made myself clear. What I meant was, I think the U.S. is a good country to live in in the sense that is a “neutral terroitory” when it comes to birth countries, as none of the kids were born here.
All I was saying is that I hope, if they DO end up living in France most of the time in a few years’ time, I hope the older kids won’t be jealouse because they are living in the twins’ birth country. You’re right, though, that probably is a silly thing to worry about!
