Brad Pitt Won’t Get Naked
Do you have your own copy of Thelma and Louise? How about a copy of Troy? Keep them, they’re the last movies you’ll likely be able to see for a peek at Brad Pitt naked (or partially naked).
According to People magazine, Brad is ready to kick any nude scenes to the curb. Because he’s a father now, he wants to avoid any nudity that could be a problem for his kids.
“I don’t want to be embarrassed when my kids get old enough to see my films,” Pitt told the BBC in an interview that aired Tuesday. “I can’t see any more nude scenes [in my career.]”
On the one hand, I sort of figure if he’s already done some, it’s kind of too late, so go ahead and drop those drawers! *Ahem* But seriously, as a parent myself I do get it. Kids are embarrassed to discover they’re breathing the same air as their parents as it is, they don’t need their dad prancing naked on screen while women shriek in delight in the theaters. Brad can probably explain his earlier mild nude scenes as being something he did in his younger days.
Alas. Fans will miss that butt.
In related news, Brad did say one thing that I disagree with completely:
“I figure I’ve got very few films left. Who knows how many I’ll get to do now, so I want to do something I’m interested in. Otherwise, I don’t want to bother. I think it’s a younger person’s game.”
As far as I’m concerned, if he keeps making movies, we’ll keep watching. A great actor doesn’t have to be the next hot young thing. Some of the best actors out there are older than the new boys splashed across teen celeb magazines. I think maybe certain roles will stop being available to him but you never know - you’d never expect someone Harrison Ford’s age to be starring in another Indiana Jones movie, and yet he is. Still, even if the roles do change, Brad will always be a star if he wants to keep acting.
He also said that there’s no chance of any further Ocean’s films, though he does see the possibility of working with BFF George Clooney and Matt Damon.
“We’ll find something else. I just don’t think there’s anywhere to go with that particular story,” he said.
Goodness, it feels good to have some Brad Pitt news again! And by the way, keep reading…

Brad is a great dad and a great partner. He appears to be very committed to making his family his top priority. I am happy to see that he has lots of other interests besides acting. I am sure he looks at the careers of Paul Newman, Mike Douglas, Warren Beatty and others whose roles do become fewer sa they age, no matter how good they look. He is a great producer and a fine architect as well as a great actor.

I think its nice of him to concern so much about his children. But actors kids it must be different a different view anyway, seeing their moms and dads playing other people or the hype of the fans arround. May they wouldnt see him as dad and more as the character he plays in the nude scene??? Dunno, must be strange anyway. I wonder if Angie will change her mind as well, *hehe* what will the kids say if they see Beowulf later….

Nudity or no nudity, I think it’s one of those individual choices - like staying put in one place or traveling with your mom, dad & siblings. :-)
I don’t know if this is an old interview being published now (like Cannes interviews published later when A Mighty Heart opened in certain countries). Maybe it’s a completely new interview. But I swear I read an earlier interview this year where Brad said he wasn’t going to do nude scenes any more. Looks like more media is picking up this announcement this time.

Clooney and Cheadle Honored by Nobel Prize Winners

George Clooney and Don Cheadle will be sharing a prestigious honor for their efforts to bring peace to Africa’s war-torn Darfur region, awarded by a collection of Nobel laureates.
The 8th World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates – a group that includes former Soviet President Michael Gorbachev, former President Jimmy Carter, the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu – will present the actors with the 2007 Peace Summit Award at its annual meeting in Rome next month.
Clooney and Cheadle are being honored for promoting peace in Darfur and “for their commitment to saving human lives and alleviating the suffering of civilian victims of the conflict,” the World Summit announced Monday. Gorbachev and Walter Veroni, the mayor of Rome, will present the award to the actors at the summit Dec. 13.
“I am always moved when I see artists such as George and Don use their positions to speak up for the most vulnerable of our fellow human beings,” Archbishop Tutu said in a statement, according to the peace and human rights Web site The Community.com. “They have brought the suffering in Sudan into the awareness of millions, and have raised tens of millions of dollars to assist the victims of violence there. They inspire us all and show that every person, in every walk of life, can do something to help make the world a better place.”
Over the past two years Clooney and Cheadle have both traveled to the African nation to bring attention to the plight of war refugees there, spoken to government leaders about the ongoing ethnic and tribal conflict in the region and appeared in the 2007 documentary Darfur Now.

ligaya, i also remember him saying something like that before this year, i think it was in Cannes when he was promoting Ocean’s 13, but this is a new interview, because he spoke about Beowulf and how good the movie is. i think it was done when they were in London for Beowulf’s premiere.

I think it’s new in part anyway. He was interviewed by Jon Ross in UK when he supported Angie at Beowulf premiere.
I watched the interview but I don’t remember the nudity thing being discussed….hmmm. ? Are People mag becoming adept at embellishing too?? Oh well I guess it isn’t negative this time. Like the Split trousers thing.

THANKS ALOT SHERRY FOR THE UPDATE!
Yeh I’m with Ligaya, I’m pretty sure I’ve read this before.
Gawd I love Brad’s six packs. ;]
I think Brad is a great dad to care, even if its too late. It’s the fact that he cares that make him such a great dad.

Angelina & Don are the most famous of the nominees - who are all incredibly inspiring heroes. Normally, I’d vote for the non-famous - but since a certain amount of damage has been done to Angelina’s credibility as a humanitarian & actress, I went ahead and voted for her.

What a good father Brad is. He will sacrifice everything for the sake of his family. I’m glad he decided to stay away from those kind of movies. I hope, Angie will do the same. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s. Happy 4th b-day Pax. We miss the whole family.

Brad at his age is still very in demand. I know Brad wants to be just plain dad to his kids & be with Angie. He really matured & his outlook in life is quite very different when he was on his 20’s or 30’s. What a remarkable changed. I salute both of you, what a dedicated parents you have become. Keep up the good work. I hope, you are getting lots of hugs & kisses from your kids. Be safe all the time. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

I think this is an old interview. I read this before somewhere but not in detail. Thanks for the old photos Sherry. I also saw 12 Monkies and he showed off his butt there, more clear. How about the love scene in “Meet Jeo Black” and of course MM Smith.

I keep looking for the next hot young thing to rival Brad Pitt. I’m just not finding him. I try hard, too. I study their faces, their bodies to see if anything about any of these new younger actors evokes anything at all of what Brad Pitt does when you look at him. NOTHING!!! He’s truly a phenomenon…beautiful man. It will be a long time before we have another like him, if ever.

All I can say is that he’s one SHARP professional, and it is good to see his maturity. It will be a good thing to see in the next many years as he brings more depth, more interesting movies to the american public…he has a lot to say…and I feel he’s bringing change. I do have a feeling that it’s not so much the kids that he doesn’t want to see the nude scenes…it’s more the commitment to the love of his life, AJ.

Brad has matured, his outlook in life has changed too, being with Angie made him much better person & found himself to a degree that helping people & be humanitarian as Angie gives him more pleasure & wealth compared to the material things that others strive for to reach. I am so proud of Brad & Angie, hail to you both. Still missing them.

I can’t say enough good things about Brad. I’ve always liked him before and felt that he had something special about him but it wasn’t being expressed for some reason. When he was with his former significant other, he just didn’t seem to have a voice - kind of dormant.
He merely appeared as arm candy on the RED Carpet pics and performed as a very good actor. However, at this point in his life his current significant other seems to inspire him and gives him the space and encouragement to interact with real people other than RED CARPET celebrities.
Brad and Angie have done so much maturing right before our eyes. I love what they stand for.
I think the two of them bring out the best in each other. The children are blessed to have them as parents.
I am interested in supporting his cause– Make It Right.
