David Beckham laughs off rumors of co-starring in Armani campaign with Angelina Jolie

The Angelina Jolie Armani rumors linger on! Although it’s been denied that Angelina would be promoting a fragrance, now the rumors have expanded, saying that Angelina Jolie and David Beckham would pose for Armani underwear billboards together. I think this story must have been born of a twisted-around combination of the perfume rumors and the fact that David recently posed for a very smokin’ hot series of underwear ads with his wife, Victoria Beckham.
However, when David was asked directly if the rumors of him posing in his skivvies with Angelina were true, he appeared baffled as well as bashful.
After he got over feeling flustered, he said:
“I definitely don’t think that’s true. I think it’s something put out in the press. [...] She’s an amazing person and so is Brad Pitt.They’re an incredible couple – they’ve got an amazing family. You know she wouldn’t do it and I wouldn’t do it. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t do it because I’m married.”
I can’t deny it, an ad campaign for Armani underwear featuring both Angelina Jolie AND David Beckham would be just about enough to make me drop into a dead faint. Have you SEEN David’s ads? Rawr.
But you know, I like the campaign he did with Victoria. The whole couple thing made the ads amazing. Even though I don’t think you could convince Brad Pitt to pose in his underwear, it certainly would be rather, err, nice to see a giant billboard of Brad and Angelina in their “unmentionables” right smack in the middle of Times Square, don’t you think?

i like david and i think he’s hot but i have to wonder what he meant when he said he that he wouldn’t do it because he’s married? i don’t get it.

It shows that the poses in the ads are extremely intimate so I think he was basically just saying that he wouldn’t feel comfortable being like that with someone other than Victoria.
It is just a rumor & I doubt if Angie will do it either, she has class & besides Brad & her are considered married in our eyes, so posing with DB is not right.God bless the Jolie-Pitt family.

Anyway, I’m glad David and Angie aren’t doing underwear ads together. Can you imagine what the h8ters would say if Angie did that?
There is no way an A++ List actress would pose naked in underwear with a C List sports person that hardly anybody in America knows!! That would be career suicide for her because it would reek of desperation!! People would think she needed the money and attention!! Besides, Angie has more class than that, especially these days. Back in her “wild” days she might have but not now.
I have no idea how those rumors got started but I would guess they began the same way other rumors about Angelina and Brad began . . . someone just posts something on some message board/blog somewhere and EVERYBODY picks it up and runs with it. This one is just plain silly!!
P.S.: Hope I didn’t offend anyone with that Beckman comment but, really, he’s not exactly a star in America since soccer is not much of a sport here! Besides, he sounds kind of stupid in that quote!!
I think this came from Angie’s people.She should have been the one to deny this.This was in the news for weeks.David Beckham don’t need Angie,it like when JamesMcavoy said it was no big deal to kiss Angie in Wanted and the press was all over him.Mcavoy and Beckham good to know marriage still means something.
To LouAnn : I’m “offended” because I love David Beckham so much. But its okay for you to view your opinions. I always respect other people’s opinion as long as they don’t wish death on other people. I came across a website where the comments were really offensive that I don’t understand why such deep hatred.
On a lighter note, I’m a bit dissappointed that David & Angie are not doing an ads. I don’t want them to pose underwear (David & Posh do it very well) but I expect something along family / charity concepts since David reps UNICEF & Angie is UNHCR. Well, since this wish won’t materialise, I’m now hoping that Brad & Angie will sign up to do a voice animation. It will be great fun if they can do press conference & promoting the movie together (just like Mighty Heart). Wishful thinking from me. Bless Brad, Angie and their family.
I agree with everyone. I think Becks is hot that ad was smoking hot. Like someone said I would love to see Angie and Brad do one of those. On another topic I would Angie’s hair darker like in the pic above, I wish she would die it back to that great shimmery Black. She’s gorgeous any way but it would be nice to see her back with darker hair.
I completely agree with your comment LouAnn, it would not look good for Angelina to pose with Beckham. And the Beckhams are not exactly proper role models in my eyes. David maybe, at least he can play football (soccer), Victoria, however, is only about being at the right place at the right time with not talent whatsoever and making big money just because she was lucky. I mean advertising is not exactly something you want to be remembered for. And besides, they both seem very superficial.
i don´t like his comment about beeing married. plus what does that have to do with anything? they are posing nothing more. actors do way more than that even though in a relationship. every stable relationship is able to stand such work – but what would he know – he betrayed his wofe more than once. sorry but i just had to say that.

Phoebe ,He is not an actor and if you believe the rumors about him cheating on his wife than do you believe the cheating rumors about Brad and/or Angie.LoAnn , he is not known for being bright.
Everyone and their grandmother are using Angelina’s name to get their exposure.
And, this is exactly an example — an aging soccer is just doing that to get his much needed 15 minutes.
Jackie – If you mean that Angie’s camp put this rumor out there then I have to disagree with you. I don’t know her personally but I doubt that she would waste her time to come up with something like this and tell her people to spread it. She barely ever comments on more serious rumors, like breakups and adoptions so I can’t see her even aknowledging it enough to deny it publicly. And she hasn’t been doing interviews lately for someone to ask her about it anyway.
A few months ago there were all those rumors about her adopting an Indian baby. Although it seemed plausible, we now know that it’s not true, not b/c she denied it, but b/c there’s no baby, and she told Anderson that “there’s nothing going on right now” when talking about having more babies (that part was taken out of the interview on AC360).

I’m not on anyone’s side here. Not a Beckham-follower either, though he used to be very good at what he does. But honestly… some of the coments made about Beckham & Co. would be angrily refuted as total “rag mag lies” by everyone in here had they been about BP/AJ. Isn’t it a bit of a double moral to carry on in that manner…? You don’t have to like the person at all – so if that’s the case… just ignore him/her without going on about what’s said about them. There are rumours about most people, just because a person is not to my/your particular liking, doesn’t mean that the rumours about them automatically are to be held as true. That’s not quite logical.
In the rest of the world where football (US: “soccer”, but really – it’s the original “football”, since in this game, they’ve actually got foot contact with the ball… ;oP eh… I had to do that… European… Haha!) is one of the biggest sports, he’s known by those that don’t even like the sport. And since he’s posing for CK ads, apparantly CK doesn’t find him to be complete a nobody. Granted, football isn’t that big in the US. But from what I know about the CK-underwear ads, he’s done it before for them, and it’s been in the US. So… Don’t see the problem. Apparently it’s working.
Not that I’d like to see Angelina posing with Beckham in an underwear ad (Angie & underwear in ads just don’t sound so likely. It is her choice though, I’m not judging, should she ever want do do anything down that road). But why would it make her seem desperate? Does Brad doing Japaneese commercials and European beer commercials make him look desperate and at the end of his career? Seriously, not everyone in the world are T H A T fond of Sumo wrestling – or know O F it, even less than Americans and football (*sigh* “soccer”), let alone know that the big guy in the ‘mercial with Brad is one of the sport’s biggest names. But I found that none of that took anything away from Brad as a person or as an actor. Don’t see how it could damage Angie either.

pop! – I fail to see how this is David Beckham using Angelina’s name for his own fame. He wasn’t talking about it at random, he was ASKED about it and he seemed to have no idea what they were even talking about. He’s shown up many times on those same power lists as Brad and Angelina so really, he doesn’t need to use anyone for his own advancement.

007 – I read somewhere that Tree of Life will be out in 2010. And I’m wondering if The Lost City of Z will get off the ground in light of how the studios treated Moneyball.

2010 is a bit away still… Oh well. Not much to do about that! I doubt that Moneyball should in any way reflect badly on The Lost City of Z though. The “itch” that halted production of Moneyball was the rewriting of the script by Soderbergh, how that would have rippleeffects on a completely different project I don’t know. Actually, haven’t the foggiest as to if TLCZ has a director/producer attatched to it, or rather I mean – who… (?)
Oh and I just noticed. While I had David’s CK-ads in mind when comparing with the Armani, I seem to have written CK instead of Armani in a few places in the last comment… So, that’s why it might seem strange

Re: Brad and the Sumo: That commercial was only for the Japanese market. Brad has been doing commercials for that particular telephone company for years. We only see them because of YouTube. I don’t even think that phone is available in the States. At any rate, you have misunderstood what I said. I meant that Angelina would NEVER be in a sexy ad, wearing a bra and panties, with a man who was not Brad Pitt. She is a mature woman who is doing good work for the U.N. and is a top earning actress. WHY would she want to do a sexy ad with a married soccer player. It doesn’t make sense. It would make her look like she’s desperate for publicity and she isn’t.

007 . . . I’ve heard that “Lost City of Z” does not yet have a script. Or at least, not one that has been approved. It doesn’t really have a start date either. I don’t know what the problem could be unless it’s just the logistics of filming in the Amazon. If that’s one of the problems, I suggest they film the movie in Puerto Rico in the El Yunque rainforest!! It would make a perfect Amazon jungle!!
As for “Tree of Life” . . . Last I read was it would be released at the end of 2009, in time for awards season. Of course, they could release it in NY and LA, which would qualify for the awards and wide-release it after that.
Angie did not sign with Armani, Lies and Style made it up and some gossip blog made this up as a offshoot of the original lie.
I really don’t get all the hoopla over him or his wife. He has a great body, but his voice grates on my nerve like chalk on a blackboard. His face is ok at best; it never seems to change expression, whether he’s smiling or not, it looks the same. To each his own. He made way too much money to come here and play for the Galaxy and then forgot to be loyal to them. Since he’s been called out in the papers he’s now trying to PRETEND that he has such enthusiasm for playing with them. He may not be a Hollywood creation, but he certainly has that STAR mentality. His wife is over-rated too. I love some of her clothes, but a lot of what she wears is just ridiculous, including her shoes. She’s basically a clothes rack that gets way more attention than she deserves. I don’t give this rumor any credence at all; I can’t see Angelina even entertaining the thought.

I just perceived the comment as Angie being in an ad (any ad) with this-or-that-person who in some way might “bring down her status” because he/she is by some considered C-list in the US or North America. Hence the third paragraph (sounds like I’m referring to legislative texts… =P ).
What I meant was that, regardless of the Armani ad being for the US market alone, an international campaign or for another country/region (like Brad’s beer and cellphone commercials) – why would it matter who she’s with… There are people more famous in one place, but not so well known in another… (i.e. Brad and the ex Sumowrestler). It still works. That being said I don’t know which market that particular Armani ad is intended for. But I understand where you’re coming from – stressing the half-nakedness and draping herself over some other guy. I got ya’! And have no views on that
I agree with you as for the fact that Angie’s got much better things going on in her life, other than an Armani pants flash. If you’d have to prioritize… it’s apparent what’d come last.
Thanks for the info on The Lost City of Z! I’ve seen pictures of parts of El Yunque National Forest – very beautiful. Great alternative if that’s what’s holding them up! But depending on if they’d like the typical ruins or Inca-type cities in the scenes, it’d be more practical with the Amazon-area. More stuff that Hollywood movies are made of I suppose… Nobody’s said much about that project though… Just me ranting on about it because I’d like to see Brad in a classic adventure flick. We’ll just have to wait and see on that one – if it ever materializes.

Veski- Unless you have insider information, you don’t know that David cheated on his wife. That was just a rumor in a tabloid. Nothing was ever said about it in more reputable sources. Also, Victoria obviously stood by David through the rumors, something I doubt she’d have done if they were true.
Like Cassie said, if you believe those rumors, do you believe all the rumors that have gone around for the past four plus years about Angie and Brad cheating on each other?
jackie- It’s fine that you like the Beckhams. Just keep in mind that this is a Brad and Angelina fansite, not a Beckham fansite. Fine if you want to share your thoughts regarding the Beckhams’ side of this interview. However, if you are going to bash Angie (it’s very obvious that you really don’t like her), then please realize that we fans ARE going to defend her!
