Angelina Jolie In An Epic Painting - BAMZS Without The B
(via)The painting is a commentary on celebrity worship. In fact, notice it’s placement above the very grocery store aisles where tabs are placed. However, due to Angie’s character, even the artist said it throws into question whether or not she’s a valuable influence upon our lives. Of course, that’s my rewording. Here’s how she said it:

Angelina Jolie was chosen as the subject because of her unavoidable presence in the media, the world-wide anticipation of her child, her “unattainable” beauty and the good that she is doing in the world through her example, which adds another layer to the complicated questions about her “deification”.

The artist based Maddox’s pose on a Raphael painting, Jolie’s Madonna/Virgin and Zahara’s cherubic look is indicative of Van Dyck (a favorite of mine). Had we only inserted Brad as David, I’d have been happy.

i saw it last night in other sites too i like the painting i dont think the world has been obssed about a celebrity as much before you know there is going to be a lot more controversy

This is something I’ll never be able to spell. Is this a complimentary or a mockery? Whatever the artist is trying to portray? I think it works for both Angie and Jens fans. You’re either putting her in a pedestal or mocking her and her works. As an Angie’s fans I feel mocked.

I don’t feel as though it is a mockery. I think the artist was just using AJ as an example of how we tend to assign celebrities roles that we think they fit. Hence, the Saint Angelina thing going on. I mean, look how they positioned baby Shiloh…as if she were Jesus. You know how people keep refering to Shiloh as the “chosen one” or the “golden one” …when really she is just a baby girl with adoring parents. I especially like the whole thing with AJ being over Wal-Mart as if she were too good to shop there. That’s funny because she said that she and Brad like to go to Taco Bell…..you can’t get any more “attainable” than Taco Bell, lol.

I also felt insulted being a Catholic. I do agree with you that Angelina with her big heart and sacrifices she is making for the less fortunate is applaudable and also done by people who are canonized as Saints like ST Francis of Assisi, St. Clare, Sta Rita, St. Margaret etc. What I don’t like is the fact that the artist is insinuating that the fans like me is worshipping Angelina. I like how you interpret it though, I guess we interpret it in different ways. You actually made me feel better Veronica, thanks and cheers!

i am catholic too but i didnt really thought much of it i took it as an artist rendition the woman who paint it didnt say enything bad about angelina or the religion it was meant more toward us as people that put celebrities in this position
plus aniston fans are not liking it i alrady read some complaints about how people elevate her and it is not her fault she is the subject of a painting that a free person made angelina has nothing to do with it but you know she is going to be partly blamed by them but i do get the point
that it could be offending but i do think the paiting is mocking us plus remember how i had mention that alrady as well as other people of how it seemed that two different religions were created team jolie religion and team aniston religion were everyone chose sides and villyfied the other right or not it is the world we live in

Plain and simple, she is the 21st Century Deity with a new sainthood gained by the big-box McD/Walmart/Hollywood production of our times…yet there is something so amazing to me about her…the giving, the accessibility, the integrated personality between living and acting. I believe there IS a greatness we are witnessing that has seldom been demonstrated to the masses in a very long time. She holds the space of celebrity, yet goes into the poverty stricken areas of the world to bring gifts of acknowledgement, of love and caring AND THEN has the freedom of a 21st century babe and tears off across the desert with the father of her child whom she will not marry yet on her motorcycle for a romantic night out without the kids. THIS IS FREEDOM and RESPONSIBILITY and I love her for all she is!!!! May we all be liberated by her light and her dark!

  12. veronica says:

did anyone see the pics of Zahara at the beach in the caribbeans? she is so darn cute…and unlike all the photos that show her mad-dogging the camera she is laughing and looking like any other happy well-adjusted baby.

  13. HARRY says:

I LOVE THIS PAINTING. THE KIDS SO CUTE. THEY LO OK LIKE ANGELS.

  14. CARE says:

  15. CUCUCU says:

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL PAINTING. WE ALL LOVE IT.

  16. nixlvr says:

This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. The woman who calls her daughter a “Blob” and doesn’t connect with her should be held up as a saint. Give me a break.

You people would approve of any weird thing this woman does. WHY?
