Pittwatch.com: Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Gossip

Everyone loves Angelina Jolie

by Sherry on June 21st, 2008

angie-red-carpet-panda-2-nc.jpg

People.com has a great little article up saying that although Angelina Jolie wasn’t able to fly back to the U.S. for the premiere of Wanted, her co-stars all had really positive things to say.

James McAvoy demonstrated how even stars can get star-struck when he mentioned that he was most surprised by how normal Angelina is, considering her movie star status.

Terrence Stamp said that she gives off a vibe of being incredibly happy at a level that you just can’t fake, while Thomas Kretschmann said she’s a rare combination of smart and instinctive.

And according to director Timur Bekmambetov, she’s just always herself all of the time.

A great little read.

Yes Love her and her BP! May we have a discussion about viewpoints on her recent interview when she talks about video gaming, Mad’s fixation on war games, and guns? I need to understand it through many points of view and thought it would be a chewy subject….

Nothing to say that hasn’t been said before. She’s a beautiful woman with a pretty spectatular guy.

    (URL in shake-a-stick thread)

Terence Stamp told reporters the best part of making the film had been “getting to kiss Angelina Jolie every morning before she went into make up”.

The actor had nothing but praise for his stunning co-star, saying: “She’s wonderful, she’s a magnificent looking creature but she’s a wonderful actress and she’s really co-ordinated which is really rare in anybody, let alone an actress, to be able to handle action like it’s no problem, so I was very happy to be part of the canon of work that was Angelina Jolie.”

happyforthem has a great idea for a discussion. I also would be interested in everyone’s thoughts. As soon as I heard Angie say that about Madd, I though, oh boy here we go.

What was the article that spoke of video gaming? I only recall one where Angelina discusses her son’s imaginary play and interest in guns including drawing them. In play therapy guns are available as a way of allowing a child to express himself. They can be used in dramatically different ways.

What can I say, she is really great & amazing person. Why do you think Brad fall in love with her?
People who knew her has nothing to say but full of admiration & love for her.
Just proud of her & Brad. I am really glad they are together & have children together.
    God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

It was great to read those quotes from her colleagues. When you spend a lot of time working with someone intensively, you get to know at least the basics about them ie: the type of person they are!!

They are both lucky to have fallen in love with each other. Something clicked at the right time! Good luck to them!

Am anxious about the fact that the media and fan obsession seems to be driving them away from Hollywood. :(

I like the fact they spend a lot of time in Europe as seen as i’m European! @ Happyforthem, what would you like to discuss about Maddox and the machine gun drawing/present?. The way i see it is it would be kind of abnormal (most boys of this age are liking toy guns etc.) if a boy of that age didn’t have an interest in war and guns. You can have an interest in it but not support it. I think it’s a healthy thing although i’m sure a lot of people/magazines will make it into something that it’s not. What’s new there? I think it’s cute. But there’s not much i don’t agree with Angelina on. She’s wise to me. I can’t wait to see what the children will be doing when they’re older! And i can’t wait to see Ange..i’m missing her like crazy!

    Meet Common, Angie’s admiring co-star -

…”You learn to deal with people and still take your space,” he says. “Angelina Jolie does a great job. Angelina and Brad have their lives, but they also have 50 cameras waiting. I went out to eat with them on the set of ‘Wanted’ and said, ‘Do you know there are 50 photographers out there?’ They shrugged, like they could have cared less.”

    ‘Being smart is really cool’

He’s also excited about his new Common Ground Foundation.

A recent project is to encourage and inspire youth to read. To that end, Common — who’s written several children’s books — has launched “The Corner,” a national online book club. This interactive platform allows kids from across the country with an opportunity to discuss books.

“I want to inspire kids to think critically,” Common says. “It’s all about them having a discussion with other kids and realizing that being smart is really cool.”

The Corner allows students from 13 to 18 to learn about tolerance, compassion and non-violent expressions of achieving social justice. Teens can recommend the book of the month and blog with other kids. They also chat online with Common…

Meet James McAvoy, another Angie admirer -

    http://www.boston.com/ae/movies/articles/2008/06/21/mcavoy_proves_more_than_fit_for_killer_role/?page=full

…McAvoy, by the way, wasn’t handed the part. He had to audition like anyone else. He says he was surprised even to be asked. There’s nothing about him that screams “killer!” much less super action hero. At 5 feet 7 inches or so, he’s not teeny but he’s not tall. His horizontal black-and-white striped polo shirt shows off nicely defined arms, but he’s hardly muscle-bound. The idea of him at the center of a movie filled with outlandish violence and oversize villains (and the undernourished Jolie, who might be the world’s most beautiful whippet [I’ve got to correct this writer]), is not just counterintuitive; it’s almost unnatural.

Bekmambetov says in the end she was the one person who could “make this movie as big as it is now, not budget-wise but subject-wise. She’s not just a great actress, she’s a personality. She can bring the meaning of the project.”

One of the stars of “The Chronicles of Narnia” clearly hasn’t been pigeonholed, as his casting in “Wanted” made quite evident, especially to him. He hopes there’s a sequel for him to star in…

Marry Ann, I thought about the exact same thing:)) I am surprised that the media didn’t made a fuss about that yet. And speaking of war games, it’s a verry common thing among kids maddox’s age to play games like that. Command&Conquer, Counter Strike, Age of Empires etc, are all games based on war strategies and, obviously, guns. And guess who will win in such a game if it were played by a grownup and a kid. The kid. They are champions at such games. In my opinion, these games shouldn’t exist, but they do and we cannot lock our children in golden cages. It’s the world we live in and we have to do our best not to keep our children blindfolded - ’cause it would do them no good - but to teach them to differentiate right from wrong, rality from fiction and to explain them everything they need to know. And from what I’ve read, Angie and Brad have very open and deep conversations with Maddox. I’m certain that the kid is very mature and knows more about this world than many adults do. So, playing a war game it’s really not that big of a deal. He’ll get over it and step into the “mom, dad, brothers and sisters, I’d like you to meet my girlfriend” phase in no time :P

As a wrap-up to World Refugee Day, so close to Angelina’s heart, I posted on the PSA thread:

–This is a companion PSA to Angelina’s, by Luol Deng, NBA player & former refugee. He was given the Humanitarian Award this year.
    –a sad quote from Angelina
–Londoners are given the chance to see the world through the eyes of refugees & a mock refugee camp in Trafalgar Square. CNN’s Sasha Herriman reports.

I’ve donated to savedarfur.org before. Lately, there’s some questions. This quote is from the FoxNews article on the JP $8 million donation:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,340208,00.html

“On the other hand, I was a little surprised to find that savedarfur.org raised $15.5 million last year, spent $6 million on television commercials to raise awareness about the plight of the Darfur refugees, paid $1 million to consultants and gave only $158,000 to relief organizations.”

See also: The NY Times, 6/2/07, “Darfur Advocacy Group Undergoes a Shakeup,” STEPHANIE STROM and LYDIA POLGREEN.

Might be better to donate to Not On Our Watch -started by Brad, Don Cheadle, Clooney, etc. They had a fundraiser in Cannes 2007 with Ocean’s 13, remember?

Contrary to rumor, Jolie and Pitt have not sold French Quarter mansion

    by The Times-Picayune
    Monday June 23, 2008, 4:59 PM

A representative for Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie denies the rumor that the pair has sold their French Quarter mansion.

“This rumor going around that they’ve sold or are selling their house in New Orleans is not true,” said Trevor Neilson of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. “It’s just made up, as are a lot of things that are said about them.”

The city conveyance office also did not have any record that the couple had sold their New Orleans home, which they bought in January 2007 under the name Mondo Bongo Trust.

The rumor, fomented by celebrity gossip magazines like E! Online, was also dismissed late last week by several prominent real estate brokers who do business in the French Quarter.

This is from MSNBC - check out the last sentence:

It will be difficult for most folks to come to grips with the clashing images of Angelina Jolie, the celebrity mom walking around pregnant with twins, and Jolie, the actress portraying a trigger-happy action hero. But those who can successfully make the distinction will enjoy “Wanted,” a rip-roarin’ ammo fest from acclaimed Russian director Timur Bekmambetov. Adapted from a series of comic strips, it sports an all-star cast that also includes James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Terence Stamp, and the energy starts high and remains there. ***Jolie probably got into character by imagining all the paparazzi she would blow away if they took photos of her twins without permission.***

    Hee hee hee.

@Hebrink: they´re not married (that we know of);)

and about Madd playing with guns…seriously which boy doesn´t play with guns or swords or other “war-like” things? so many kids play with water pistols (and its fun hahaha) and no one says a word. Angie shoots a lot in her movies too but that does not mean, that she supports violence! Angie does a lot do make this world a better world. this is what counts.
