Friday Flashback: Interview With the Vampire
October 30, 2009 by Sherry
Since we’re just a handful of hours away from Halloween, I figured the most appropriate Friday Flashback that I could give you this week is a video created with scenes from Brad Pitt playing Louis in Interview With the Vampire. After all, what fits better with Halloween than a bunch of vampires?
I really loved the movie. I was never able to get into the book (though I tried several times) because I’m just not fond of Anne Rice’s writing style. However, the movie was completely captivating. I was initially skeptical when I heard that Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise were cast as vampires because I just couldn’t picture it.
In the end I more than ate my words because Brad was a perfect and charming Louis while Tom was incredible as the monstrous Lestat. I’ve seen this movie about five or six times and I never get tired of it.
I think Interview With the Vampire would make a wonderful Halloween night movie if you’re looking for something to watch. I’ve got plans to watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show because Tim Curry playing a transvestite is a great way to celebrate October 31st, but when that’s over I think I’ll pop my Interview With the Vampire DVD in and enjoy Halloween with Brad Pitt!

Sherry, when I use to do alot of traveling for my job I got into Anne Rice’s books. I have read them all, and I loved this movie. Both Tom and Brad did a great job. Thanks for the video and you are right, this would be a good weekend to watch this movie.
i love this movie. my all time favorite vampire movie with 4 famous and not to mention hot actors all together in a movie – Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas and Christian Slater. Kirsten Dunst’s performance there was also impressive.
This was the first movie that Brad Pitt caught my eye. Then I couldn’t get my eyes off of him.
Sherry thanks for this video! this is a nice start for Halloween!
and I think you should read the book too! it’s a great read, and I Love Anne Rice’s vampire chronicles than the twilight series.. dunno, I think Anne Rice captivates the real vampire than the author of twilight..
plus this movie has an all star cast of yummy men! haha!
Happy Halloween everyone!
Thanks Sherry, for the video and a Happy Halloween to everyone here at Pittwatch, and to the Jolie-Pitt family! Enjoy a fun day and eat lots of candy!
Haven’t seen the movie yet, as I said before I never followed Brad’s career until he hooked up with Angie. Now, I am an avid fan of the both of them.
Happy Halloween to all the fans who celebrate Hallowen.I wrapped candies last night put them in bags & tied them with nice harvest color bows. What a fun thing to do for the kids.
God bless you all. God bless the Jolie-Pitt family.
What a beautiful, well-acted movie.
..Anne Rice has a new book out about Angels. She has become a Christian, so she steers herself towards more uplifting projects that encourage people in the faith…hence her new Angels book. Good for her!
It took me years to watch Interview With A Vampire because I wasn’t into such dark movies, but then I finally watched it…and i LOVED IT! Thanks for posting.
Irma, I was just like you. I never payed much attention to Brad until I saw Mr. & Mrs. Smith….then I was hooked on BOTH of them! I went back and watched most of their previous movies. Brad has a brooding HOTNESS in that movie that is mesmirizing. Every character in the movie seems to need him on a spiritual and immortal level. The cinimatography is beautiful, and the relationship between Brad and the little girl is touching. Tom Cruise gives a great performance as well. Be advised that there is a little nudity & suggestive scenes, but it is DEFinitely a ‘must see’.
just watched Paranormal Activity.. haha! it’s a good movie and really scared me at the end, I really can’t believe it.. maybe i’ll watch Interview with the Vampire next..
Happy Halloween again!
It’s raining here in the Philippines because of the typhoon so we can’t go out.. oh well..
I remember reading that IWAV was an allegory for AIDS at the time. I always thought that was a great interpretation of it.
Well I personally have not watched this film in its entirety.
But I do own it. xD Im not a fan of Tom Cruise. My mother enjoyed this one though.
Anyway, Happy Halloween everyone. And Happy Halloween to Brad’s family too. I hope they’re having a wonderful time tonight. (:
off the original post but… i just heard that Brad and Angelina have adopted a child from syria…has anyone heard anything about it… just wondering.
Sherry, fellow pittwatchers, there’s photos of the JP family trick or treating.
Brad’s costume is soooo funny.
Yeah, the pictures at radar online or something. I didn’t see Pax though.. hope he wasn’t sick.
Brad was very good in this movie, hes good in all his movies. What really caught my eye was Legends of the Fall… Then I couldnt stop watching. I look at anything with Brad Pitt that i can get my hands on. Not only is he gorgeous, he has ALOT of talent. I’ve seen 30+ of his movies, and check an updated site about him almost everyday. Overall, this movie is a MUST see. Is it weird that im only 13? Haha.d
That was rude of me to only talk about Brad. His children are beautiful and I hope they all had a wonderfull time together trick-or-treating.
