Full Video Clip of Brad Pitt on Idol Gives Back
I sobbed my way through all two and a half hours of Idol Gives Back tonight as presented by American Idol. Now that I’m done, I wanted to share the full video clip of Brad Pitt on Idol Gives Back as he talks about Make It Right. The good that he is doing with the help of so many others is inspiring. The devastation that is still in New Orleans is heart breaking. I was horrified to see people living in tents under overpasses because they are among the 200,000 people still without homes. Thank God for people like Brad Pitt who are bringing attention to this ongoing horror and helping people - and the regular people at home like us who are pitching in too.
After his segment, they showed the entire part where his microphone malfunctioned and then Brad introduced the band Daughtry. For non-Idol fans, Daughtry’s lead singer was one of the finalists several seasons ago and he’s done well with his own band. I included the song Daughtry did just because I love it, and it shows the troubles they saw when they traveled to Uganda.
Overall the show was incredible. If you didn’t catch it all, I strongly urge you to catch up with some of the other performances on the show by Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Mariah Carey, and more. And if you can, please donate. The number and website are in the clip. (Please excuse the commercials, no way around them.)
Enjoy!
Also, I had to come back to add this clip I made for you. Robin Williams did a skit pretending to be the winner of Russian Idol and he was as hilarious as ever. After he “performed” his song, he ended his segment with a very cute Brangelina shout-out.
I love Robin Williams!

Thanks Sherry, Brad is one good looking daddy at 44. Robin Williams was hilarious when he said ” Brad & Angelina please adopt me”. Who is that lady who sing a very moving song, she wears pink shirt with HIV Positive written on her shirt. I like her song. The show itself was moving & really touched me in some way. I admire those people who gets involved to this unselfish giving from the heart. To all of them Good Job!! I don’t forget how Brad & Angie are doing their parts too in helping the unfortunate ones . God bless them.

Irma - That was Annie Lennox. She is just ridiculously amazing. It was so touching how she stayed strong in Africa and then broke down once she has walked away because it was so hard.
I really love that American Idol has realized how popular and successful they are as a show and have managed to turn it into this, doing so much good.

I am glad that Brad showed up for the taping. It was very brief but AI can use the exposure. I read somewhere that the ratings went down a little bit last year and by doing these fundraising is a great way to help others and also promote the show. I found Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, and Robin W. really funny.

Thanks for the videos Sherry.
I only tuned in for Brad’s part mainly to avoid Seacrest’s drivel. But David Spade introducing Brad’s seqment, Brad introducing Daughtry were all good. If that’s an indication of the quality of the whole show, then they did themselves proud.
I also hope they received a lot of donations.

Thanks so much for posting the two AI videos. I was hoping to see Brad’s segment again. Thanks for the opportunity.
One always has to remember to have some Kleenex nearby when watching the Idol Gives Back shows. It truly breaks your heart.

Thanks Sherry, I never heard her name before but I will check her song & buy a cd, I am kind of a sentimental person.
If not from American Idol Gives Back I wouldn’t heard her name or her song. I don’t know if she is an American. I will probably google her.
God bless.

I watched the whole show and taped it. I was really impressed with the overall production quality, especially the clips from all of the charities selected. I am Canadian, and I was really shocked to see how many children in the US are living in pretty extreme poverty, with issues like housing, health care and education. I know it’s not as bad as Africa, but it is shocking, when the “western world” is so rich, to see our own kids so badly off. Although Canada has better overall healthcare and housing, we have problems areas too, especially the native reserves, where families often have no running water, bathrooms or electricity.

I think Brad’s overall energy is lighter than Angelina’s. I just feel this dark aura about her. Maybe the good work she does will balance her karma out eventually.

I watched & taped the whole show too. Its the first AI show I watched (I can’t stand watching people lose). If I’d known about last year’s Idol Gives Back show, I’d have watched it too.
It was perfect - the combination of celebrity presenters, charity video clips & musical performances. The clip & performance which touched me most was Annie Lennox with those lovely boys, then singing “Many Rivers to Cross” live. I downloaded the music & video for that, and Mariah Carey’s “Fly Like a Bird,” Daughtry’s “What About Now,” and Snoop Dogg’s “Can’t Say Goodbye.”
I’m sure there are snide, snarky cynics out there who criticize Idol Gives Back as a ratings gimmick and the performers as self-serving promoters of their CDs - like people dissing Angelina & Brad as only wanting good PR for motivation of their great good works.
I guess there will always be people like those, jealous & bitter like Iago, even when they’re better off than others - now THOSE are the people who have dark hearts.

Lisa, you’re not the only one shocked and with eyes opened. I’m sure there are shocking numbers of Americans who either don’t know or don’t care to know about the wide divide between the rich & the poor. The gap gets wider & wider, and our middle class is disappearing.
We’re the richest & most powerful country in the world still - yet we’re the poorest in a lot of ways, compassion being one. I think this is why the whole world was shocked seeing the pictures of Katrina on tv.
But there are always people who are compassionate and willing to help, not just Angelina & Brad, not just us - and eventually we’ll prevail.
