Global Green’s NOLA Project is getting started
Access Hollywood reports today that although Brad is far too busy to be walking around New Orleans at the moment, the design competition is getting underway:
The historic Holy Cross Neighborhood in the Lower Ninth Ward is the focus of Stage 1 of the competition. Global Green and Pitt announced on April 20 they are teaming up to sponsor the competition to provide an opportunity for talented architects, urban planners, designers, ecologists and students to put forward a creative yet practical vision for New Orleans.
Anyone who is interested in participating in the competition, or to learn more about Global Green’s “Healthy Homes, Smart Neighborhoods,” visit www.globalgreen.org/competition.
What a great opportunity for everyone involved. NOLA is about 5 hours from me, maybe a trip there is in my future?? ;)

Oh good…I am glad that things are moving along on this project. I am sure Brad will get involved directly before too long…and it will be very interesting to see what concept they decide on for New Orleans. It’s shameful that our government seems to have basically abandoned that city…one of our greatest historic landmarks all on it’s own. But then again, if the Gov hadn’t dropped the ball, we wouldn’t get to see Brad in action on this front. I am very much looking forward and hoping they come up with a solid solution to secure N.O. from future massive distruction. God help them, cause with global warming a very real threat to the earths weather problems becoming so threatening, they are going to need a very strong plan.

My understanding is that Brad is going to be there in July to select the semi finalists.
