Great article about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Long Island

I found a great article over at People.com talking about how much Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have stirred up residents of Long Island just with their presence in Oyster Bay lately.
Between the grocery shopping trip, the Dunkin Donuts runs, and a previously unreported visit to CVS by Angelina, locals are – according to Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto – “glowing”.
The main initial reaction, aside from noting how gorgeous Brad and Angelina are, is that they are both just incredibly nice people.
When Brad and Angelina hit up the Stop & Shop, the manager, Katherine Pastore had this to say:
“They looked out of place because they were so beautiful. They looked like they were airbrushed when they were walking. I went up to Brad and asked if he needed help and he said, ‘No thanks.’ I was looking at him but I don’t really remember it – it was like a dream. [...] They were very attentive with their kids. Brad was rubbing Zahara’s back and Angelina was comforting Shiloh when she got a little upset. It was sweet,”
I certainly can’t fault her for that. I would absolutely nonchalantly ask if they needed assistance too! She also mentioned, for the people who wonder what the Jolie-Pitt family buys on a grocery run, that they picked up things like pre-sliced watermelon, nuts, tuna, and even some toys for the kids. I remember Angelina or Brad once saying that they don’t bring every last thing when they travel so maybe they were getting some filler toys.
Meanwhile, when Angelina stopped in at CVS, local Alex Reckert said:
“She was in my aisle and everyone was kind of looking at her or going up to her. She looked great. She had on these leggings and sunglasses and signed a few autographs.”
Shopping at a drugstore is generally pretty boring. Imagine standing there with your toilet paper and Tylenol, only to look up and realize Angelina Jolie is standing at the cash register?

aww… i wonder why Shiloh got upset? it’s probably the reason why she was covering her face with her silky when they went out.

Poor Shiloh! That seems to confirm my theory that, in that first photo we saw of them shopping (the one taken in the story with a cellphone), Zee was the one in the cart and Angie was holding Shi (hence the inital thought by some that she was holding Viv).
Thanks Sherry for the great article about the sightings of the people about Brad & Angie. They are very down to earth & very accommodating to their fans, that’s why I became their fan. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
What a sweet article! I just hope people at Oyster Bay would give them some peace and quiet and leave them alone! No offense to anybody there really. I would be beside myself too but I’ll try my best to have self control. I think what makes them special is that they act normal and don’t really expect special treatment. Gotta love the JP’s. May Shiloh wanted a toy or to sit in the cart like one and you said and did not get her way. When I was that age I still remember getting jealous of my cousin and giving her an eyeful since she was being carried by grandpa and I wanted to get carried by him. It’s nice that Angie consoled her by picking her up just like she did in NOLA when Shi scraped her knee and was crying too.
Thanks for this story, Sherry! It just proves that they´re ordinary people doing ordinary things like going grocery shopping. Maybe Shi was upset because of all those cameras that are always present wherever the family goes or maybe she was upset because she didn´t get something she wanted. That story is very believable since it was published in People Magazine. They don´t tend to publish gossips. I was touched when I read that Brad was rubbing Zee´s back. That shows that she truly is daddy´s little girl. But so are Shi and Viv too. Hope to see the twins soon. God bless the JPs!

I’m don’t understand why people want to know why Shiloh was upset or why it’s such a cause for concern. She’s almost three years old. Toddlers just get upset over the smallest things. It’s not a big deal. Also she may not have been upset at all. It’s one person’s interpretation.
I’m so impressed that People have run this feature; it glares in the face of all those false-gossip tales of ‘break-ups’ & arguements, and even though it’s not sensational it’s actually far more believable and very very ‘touching’ indeed – just an everyday domestic occurence which to those who admire & love the Jolie-Pitts, is the bestest type of news to receive.
I so hope they feel they can continue to go shopping locally.
If I ran into them I believe that I would just look at them and if they made eye contact with me I would smile. I don’t think that I would approach them, because I truly hope that some day they will find a place to live where they feel comfortable and know that people will give them their space.
Sorry, me again. Someone remarked that Brad plays ball with Madd and Paxie. Wouldn’t it be nice if they were able to join a Little League team.
Lois, i was just wondering why she was upset. i am still young and i don’t have a child yet, i have no idea that toddlers gets upset on smallest things and i was hoping some pittwatchers here who have children and grandaughters would just explain it through their personal experiences. I personally think it’s because she wanted to ride the cart till outside but they only used Brad’s cart and z was already sitting there. She probrably got upset on the counter because of that. I don’t know. Some says maybe because she wanted something that she didn’t get, or because of the papz, the sun, or some says she wanted to ride the cart but she was carried by her mother – which could all be possible reason. It’s fun to read each others personal opinion, you know. Don’t take everything personally. Peace out.
Lois – I think the main reason people are discussing it is because before this article a lot of fans were wondering if it was because of the paparazzi taking pictures. We already know from interviews (and from her perfect “death stare-down”) that Zahara does not like them at all, and you can sort of tell that sometimes it bugs Maddox too. Pax doesn’t appear to care much and Shiloh didn’t either but people were wondering if they were starting to upset her now.

As usual “Thank you Sherry”. It amazes me as to why people in other blogs always have a negative view of Brad and Angelina. The people in Oyster Bay seems to think they are “regular” normal individual without malice and feel honored that they chose to be in their community. Brad and Angelina did not request extra security as the pictures and the article shows and allowing them to mingle freely. It is so sad that other media outlets exposes them in such a horrible light. People Magazine is somewhat credible and maybe now fans and non fans will see a totally different view of Brad and Angelina.
I agree with you Sherry, Shi never seem to be upset by paps she mostly smile at them, but 2yr old get upset for no special reason. My kid at 2 would cry to go to the store and when she gets there she would get upset and want to go home if she dose not get evreything she want, terrible 2’s they are unpredictable litte cuties, you just go with the flow. I understand,we have never seen shi upset or hiding her face.
It is so nice that the fans in the store were respectful to them, I have friends cloes by they have not seen them but they heard of all buzz. I am an hour away from them but pitwatch is good enough for me.

This is of course only my opinion, but I don’t necessarily think that Shiloh is either upset or hiding her face. She has a stuffed toy in one hand, that her mother is also holding and her silky in the other. She then wanted to put her thumb in her mouth, so, the silky covered her face.
We and other have a tendency to analyze things, which is fine, but photos only represent seconds or minutes at best and never the whole story. We could all pick a photo and write a story, just like the tabloids. But who knows what is really happening. Just because a person is not smiling does not make them upset, maybe they just don’t feel like smiling, nothing wrong with that.

small kids get upset all the time, no biggie. too much over-analysis on here some-times!
Lois, I don’t have any toddlers but I’ve babysat plenty and grew up with many little cousins…but let me put it this way…when they wake up they get upset..when they are tired they get upset..when they are hungry they get upset..you look at them the wrong way, they get upset…you don’t get them what they want at the store, they get upset….most toddlers just cry about almost anything! The most ironic and funniest thing about this whole enchilada, Lois, is that we may never know what made Shi upset. Trust me, I wish I knew what was going on all of those JP’s minds all the time! But as Mary says, we give these pics an eyeful and interpret them as best as we can (you know what I mean) unless we get confirmation otherwise. I think that the JP’s don’t tell us much nor do we see them much (except for lately but I’m not complaining) that we just want to speculate what’s going on. We are just such JP fans ,we want to know what’s really going on with them. I am experiencing this undying curiosity as many of you do and I know its really none of my beeswax either. As I said we may never know! What I love this about this fan site is the ability for its bloggers to safely express our differing thoughts and opinions but still have the maturity to respect each other. I don’t like naming names but I know a site where I’ve never seen so much hatred, ill will and name calling towards each other! But oh well to each his own. Cheers to all our Pittwatchers and JP brood!
I find it quite entertaining that they keep finding their way back to good ol’ oyster bay even though they are currently living in lloyd neck : )
Oh and I know those two girls mentioned ha so I guess you get the gist of how small the town is. I never really understood why people are like ‘omg if i saw them (or any celeb for that matter) i would faint!’ Instead, how about just be satisfied with being able to see them in person- and then if you must buzz about it after!
Oh boy, Sherry, I agree with you. Zee always gives paps the “look” and Shi is curious, Pax doesn’t care but Max hides. I hope they pickup their parents trick for dealing with them.
I for one would also not bother them. I would hope as heck I could see them up close and personal, but would not bother them. A smile and a nod from them would go a long way with me. I will admit I’m a little envious of the people who live there but I know I would never approach them. I’m really alittle too shy to be honest to be that bold. I have been in the position to meet some stars over the years, John Travolta, Kevin Costner, Johnny Cash and June Carter, Ron Howard and a few more but geez at 52 I still have never gotten over that shy stage of my life. There has been film companies in my area & surrounding areas over the years and I always get talked into going but given the chance, never have the nerve to approach any them . Not so for some of my family and friends, they take what ever opportunity thats given to them. I’m ok with that.
I have had a few brushes with celebrities and I always get tongue-tied. Crazy dumb, but that’s the truth.
I would totally follow Angie around the drugstore and buy every item of makeup she did. If she ever decides to endorse a makeup line, it will fly off the shelves.
Which brings up another thing…I know so many people, including my own mother, who insist that Angie’s beauty is the result of cosmetic surgery. If you see a picture of Angie’s dear mother, may she rest in peace, you can see where she got those fabulous lips! And she has her father’s nose. She’s lucky in the genes, not in the surgeon. I’m sure Shi and Viv will be the same way.

but you know what.. i really love them.. they remind me that fame is not a hindrance to just be ordinary family hanging out with the kids, doing some shopping and buying something in a drugstore.. sometimes famous people don’t really go to stores that locals do.. here in the Philippines you hardly see them at a local shopping mall.. maybe some, but sometimes they won’t even say hi or signed authographs..

They are living in Oyster Bay. That whole Lloyd Neck house was a tab lie.
Actually, they’re not living in Lloyd Neck, and I don’t know if they will. Rumor has it that they will continue to live in Rupert Murdoch’s estate on Centre Island – near Oyster Bay. I had heard that they used the Lloyd Neck address as a ruse to throw of the paparazzi. However I’ve also heard from many sources that the owner is renovating, and they *will* move to Lloyd Neck. The Murdoch property is on the market for 12.5 M, while Sassafras was recently taken off after being offered at 60M.
I’m still hoping they come here, I’m tired of everyone else seeing them!

Liz- ITA! In fact, you can also tell that Angie’s lips are natural just by looking at Shi and the twins. They also have those trademark full lips.
Also, if you look at pictures of Angie as a kid, she’s had those lips ever since she was a tiny baby! I also don’t get why people constantly say Angie had a nose job. People also sometimes try to claim that Angie’s had her breasts done. Sure, she had rather volupteous (sorry about the spelling, I know I probably spelled it wrong!) “girls” on at least two occasions: after the births of Shiloh and the twins.
However, that doesn’t mean she had a boob job! It’s called being pregnant and then breastfeeding!
I could be wrong, but, to me, Angie seems like one of the last celebs to go under the knife. I can’t even really see her getting botox!
In addition to all that, some people have even claimed that BRAD’S had work done, which seems crazy to me! He looks pretty much the same in pictures from when he was younger as he does now.
Yes, he looks different now than he did when he was in his 20s, but that’s called aging!
If the JPs were found in my local shop I would totally leave them alone. I would be excited, but I wouldn’t go near them. WHY you ask? Not because I am shy.
Because I personally couldn’t stand having no privacy in my day to day life: it sounds like a nightmare. So I wouldn’t want to contribute to anyone else being crowded.
One time I was in a small blues club in Chicago and Mick Jagger walked in with Jerry Hall on his arm for the night. I was true to my feeling of leaving famous folk alone. But it was cool to be enjoying the same music as he was!
