Great Brad Pitt quotes

Image details: TIFF 2007 -"The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" North American Premiere served by picapp.com
There is a serious lack of Brad and Angelina news right now. Obviously, we’re all just biding our time, waiting for the Big Announcement, that the Jolie-Pitt twins have been born. Other than that, it’s all just tabloid fodder or re-hashing the same thing all over the Internet.
So, in light of the no-babies-yet-news and due to a shortage of Brad Pitt lately, here is a collection of one person’s 18 favorite quotes said by Brad over the years. My favorite is the same one that made me laugh so hard years ago when I first read it:
I phoned my grandparents and my grandfather said ‘we saw your movie’. ‘Which one?’ I said. He shouted ‘Betty, what was the name of that movie I didn’t like?’
Now THAT is humbling! I also liked his comment about not speaking about things you don’t know much about, because you know that when he does talk about things like Darfur and New Orleans, it’s because he’s taken the time to learn about the topics, and he is speaking of things he’s researched.
What was your favorite on the list?
(Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a great day and got some awesome gifts including a really nice zoom lens for my camera, I can’t wait to play with it. Also, I think it was Ligaya who mentioned the quote site - thanks!)

It’s too difficult to pick a favourite but he is one intelligent guy. And so modest too. He’s lovely.

I like the one that says: “I believe you make your day. You make your life.” We are all responsible for our actions. Off topic, I was having trouble getting to sleep last night, air conditioner not working right and I started to think about the Jolie-Pitts. Something must have happen on Sunday June 29th that sent Angie to the hospital. And now for some reason she is being kept there. What I find strange is that Angie and Brad are always so careful when they are working to make sure that one of them is with the children. Now we think that Brad is in the hospital 24/7 and the children are being watched by family or the nannies and body guards. This makes me think that for some reason he feels he must stay with Angie. My point is that I am starting to feel concern and wonder if any of the faithful here at Pittwatch feel the same, but none of us want to put this down in black and white. Some will call me an worry wort, and possibly you are right. I know that all of this is their business, but being a fan I am concerned.

MY FAVORITE IS CAUSE IT IS SO MARRIED LIFE. MY HUSBAND AND I DO THIS ALL THE TIME.

Maryann don’t feel bad if you’re a worry wort its ok :) wouldn’t be normal if some didn’t worry. I don’t think anything is wrong. I don’t think Angie would have been able to adhere to bed rest if not in the hospital and I have heard of women staying in the hospital before the birth of twins to make sure they carry them as close to term as possible. Angelina is young and healthy and has excellent medical care, so lets just hope she is fine and will safely deliver 2 healthy babies.
Life is fragile with no guarantees for anyone so I understand your concern. Sherry you work this site, does it count when I just come to the site and don’t comment? I come everyday, but I don’t always comment. Hope you had a nice birthday(now shared with Nicole Kidman and Matthew Mcconaughey new additions) Oh and I like the one that says: “I believe you make your day. You make your life.” We are all responsible for our actions”

i already knew that quote. i laughed so hard at his grandfathers words! i thought it was really cute and hey! Brad is big enough to take critisism!. LOL
about Angie being at the hopital… Mary Ann, its cute that you worry so much, but seriously i don´t think it helps them if you don´t get any slepp. ;) like Loren said, its quite normal that women carrying twins take such precautions. the twins could be coming too soon or whatever…nothing serious.

I can’t recall the exact quote, but while still married to JA, he once said something about ‘little girls kill me’ when talking about how much he wanted a daughter one day. I know he loves his sons just as much as his daughters, but you can tell in pictures just how much Shi & Zee have Brad wrapped around their little finger (not to mention that Angie said she has to discipline the girls because Brad can’t do it, LOL).

“Let us be the ones who say we do not accept that a child dies every three seconds simply because he does not have the drugs you and I have. Let us be the ones to say we are not satisfied that your place of birth determines your right to life. Let us be outraged, let us be loud, let us be bold.”
This is the one I liked best. It is so very true…unfortunately:(
I think that is normal to worry when you care about someone, the way we care about angie. But I am a strong believer that positive thinking works miracles. So, heads up people. She is fine. She has the best care and the infinite love of her family, friends and ours, of course :P

Another great quote “worry is a prayer for manifesting what you DON’T want to have happen” Place AJ in your highest thoughts and complete your thoughts in a whole circle ending at the top, instead of the bottom. My feeling is that she and BP thoroughly checked out this option and anticipated this lifestyle in order to make sure they did not have a last minute emergency situation to deal with (including the papz chasing them in an emergency vehicle). I believe that the girls and BP are mostly with AJ at the hospital and James is with the boys at their chateau. My feeling in the middle of the night is that they are working it out to the best of their abilities and are being very wise to protect their family and their privacy.

Mary Ann: Don’t worry, there’s nothing to worry about specially that she is in Doctor’s care & is in the hospital with all the medical needs she can get & with Brad 24/7 with her. I believe the Medical Doctor when he said not to worry. Knowing how nice Brad & Angie to their fans, they let the Doctor do the talking for them.
Sherry: I like Brad’s picture. He looks so fine.
God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

(I have confidence in the doctor’s statement - I think Angelina is fine, just resting & enjoying her privacy.)
All of Brad’s quotes are my faves, but here’s my top 3:
–Heartthrobs are a dime a dozen.
–Fame makes you feel permanently like a girl walking past construction workers.
–Let us be the ones who say we do not accept that a child dies every three seconds simply because he does not have the drugs you and I have. Let us be the ones to say we are not satisfied that your place of birth determines your right to life. Let us be outraged, let us be loud, let us be bold.

(LOL, my post about my fave Brad quotes is under mod.)
Now some quotes ABOUT Brad Pitt. This in response to some yoyo who said Brad’s a has been, uninteresting actor whose looks are fading (from deadlinehollywooddaily):
–No, Pitt is cool. On a set, away from crowds, he has a blue-collar vibe and gives respect to the below-the-line. He’s the only big star that crew guys truly love. Pitt has even attended “cast & crews” screenings (and been welcomed, too), who does that?
–Pitt is rad and this would be super cool
–This is probably perfect casting, actually. Brad Pitt has always been a character actor stuck in a leading man’s body (see True Romance, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club). Some of that Tarantino zing will be right up his alley.
—-I think Brad Pitt could benefit greatly from a Tarantino role. I think he’s a good choice.

What are they talking about? The news that Quentin Tarantino wants to cast Brad in his new movie. There’s no saying that Brad’s interested(from Nkki Fine’s highly reliable from deadlinehollywooddaily):
UPDATE: Quentin Tarantino Talking To Brad Pitt To Star In ‘Inglorious Bastards’
EXCLUSIVE: I’ve confirmed Quentin Tarantino is talking to Brad Pitt to star in Inglorious Bastards, the writer/director’s newly unveiled script being shopped right now to 4 Hollywood studios: Universal, Warner Bros, Paramount and Sony.
Tarantino himself has described it as a Spaghetti Western meets World II film that’s an homage to 1967’s The Dirty Dozen and its derivatives with a story about a group of soldiers on their way to be executed who get the chance of a reprieve.

RE: Worries about the smaller of Angelina’s twins…
(aol com says she is nervous about its health).
I don’t know enough to say whether I think there might be a problem or not (but then… she is in the hospital way before her term was supposed to be up isn’t she???)
Also: Maybe I am just reading into things too much, but I looked at some new pictures of Brad bringing Pax to see Angie and, I thought his face seemed strained and stressed. Does he always look stressed in front of the paps… yeah, kinda. But if you look carefully, it seems like he’s under some serious stress, more than just fending off the annoying paps. He has like a sort of gravitas about him…

I don’t think we have to worry. You can’t get better medical care than what Brad and Ange have got. I just think it must be because they are twins and also everyone knows how hands on Angelina is as a mother. She just needs to be some where like that towards the end to maintain that calmness she needs. I think she’s in hospital now because she is due any time not because of any problems..the longer she waits the better but everyone knows that twins have a greater chance of being premature so.. i know we’re loving her and worried about her but i think she’ll be absolutely fine, guys. You’ll see, soon she’ll be carrying both of those sweet babies out of there! I reckon Brad IS stressed..he probably wants to be sleeping next to the love of his life, in their own bed every night and probably also wants to be with all the children aswell so i guess it’s really tough for Brad atm. He’s a strong guy though. Let’s just keep thinking of her and sending her best wishes and prayers. This will all be over soon enough..

From a comment at Justjared:
From French website about Brad’s visit with Mad and Pax to Angie today-
Decidely, she is lucky this Angelina Jolie. Each day, Brad Pitt comes to visit her at the foundation Lenval in Nice, where she is hospitalized pending birth of their twins, and even he often sleeps (stays) overnite at the hospital with her.
This afternoon, after spending the day with his friend Robert de Niro, Brad Pitt therefore still comes to visit her.
This time, he was accompanied by their two adoptive sons, Maddox and Pax. For a good dad, and not tired mother, the children come alternately.
They spent a few hours at the bedside of the mother Jolie. Is it not a beautiful life?

Brad Visits Angelina, Hits the Beach with BonoToday
8:30 PM PDT by Ken Baker
After an afternoon stroll on the beach in Eze Sur Mer with Bono, Robert De Niro and three of his children, Brad Pitt arrived at Lenval hospital at 7.30 pm.
Accompanied by Maddox, who was asleep in the car, (Ken’s sources missed seeing Pax) Papa Pitt apparently came to stay overnight with Angelina Jolie.
Sources tell E! news that earlier in the day Brad, along with Maddox, Pax and Zahara, spent the afternoon at the beach.
“Bono and Robert De Niro are really good friends and they hang out in the South of France together every summer,” says a source.
“The kids looked like they were having a great time and none of the locals bothered them or took any notice of them.
“It was a fun afternoon out for all of them.”

love the grand parent quote and the girl walking past construction workers. But I also really like this one,
You shouldn’t speak until you know what you’re talking about. That’s why I get uncomfortable with interviews. Reporters ask me what I feel China should do about Tibet. Who cares what I think China should do? They hand me a script. I’m a grown man who puts on makeup.
He really puts it all in perspective doesn’t he.

I will look at pictures of the Jolie-Pitt’s when they are out and about, but I draw the line looking at pictures that are taken through a window. God only knows how they did it, but it is very very wrong. I will look at the kids inside the cars, but it makes me feel guilty when I see people pressing up against the windows, and think how these poor kids feel. So as you can see I have very many mixed up feelings.

Thanks to all for all the weblinks. I’m glad Angie is bedresting in the hospital. I don’t want to give worrying any legs because it is such a waste of energy…I’d rather think positively! Angie is the energizer bunny (a Gemini trait), hands-on, loves to carry the kids, etc. even when the doctors told her not to. So being in the hospital these last few weeks lets her babies grow with loving care and Brad can also have some peace of mind knowing she’s taken care of. I hope Angie is biding her time by writing another book or articles…wouldn’t that be a win-win for all of us?

People has a report from the hospital indicating that the window pictures are all fakes, since the hospital has taken the precaution of “paprazzi proofing” the windows in the rooms the Jolie-Pitts have reserved. Seems Brad is not always there and is attending to the other kids plus some business and social networking. I saw a report that he was at the beach with Bono, Robert DeNiro and three of the Jolie-Pitt kids. Therefore, I think Angelina is truly just being observed and that the birth is still not imminent. She may have had some labor or false labor or she may have occassional signs of medical distress like high blood pressure, but it doesn’t sound too concerning. More than anything, I would think the goal is to keep those babies in there to get bigger and stronger as long as possible. Having worked with premature infants, I am aware of how stressful it is to have babies in intensive care. I would agree to a month or two of bedrest to avoid that! I’m sure Angie is making good use of the time.

I love most of Brad’s quotes, but the Grandpa one also tickles me. It’s typical elder speak.
@Mary Ann re: the pics I totally agree.
Am not too worried about her resting in hospital, Julia Roberts had to rest in in hospital for about 4 weeks.
Also both JLo and the red head from Desperate Housewives had bed rest for a couple weeks before giving birth.

Thanks for the Tarantino news, I really hope this happens.
People have always wanted to box Brad into the “pretty” boy carton, but ALL his repetoire speaks for his talent. Not just the few people selectively remember, so they can damn him with it.
That’s why GC annoys me so much, he’s “jokes” give Brad detractors the courage to stand up and make themselves look stupid.

My favorite quotes:
-Heartthrobs are a dime a dozen.
-You make your life. So much of it is all perception, and this is the form that I built for myself. I have to accept it and work within those compounds, and it’s up to me.
I find both Brad and Angie so inspiring! And don’t worry fans, I’m sure Angie is OK. It makes perfect sense that she would go to the hospital early. When Shiloh was born, they were in Namibia a long time. In a way, it’s almost harder that they’re in Europe, because it’s easier to get news and thus be worried. But all is surely well! Any sane father would look worried when his partner is getting close to delivering, even if there is absolutely nothing wrong.

A quote/story from NY movie maven Peggy Siegal about Angelina’s role in getting Changeling made (@ Cannes):
Red-carpet hysteria anticipates the arrival of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. She’s radiant and huge (they’re twin girls!) in a taupe chiffon jeweled neck caftan. The press is taking bets she will deliver within days.
The back story is that no one except Angelina wanted to make this film because of its disturbing nature — an adult nightmare. Angelina ultimately convinced Eastwood, Meyer, and Grazer to produce it. They realized Angelina (mother of many) is a publicity magnet, and having her play a mother whose love for her child is the whole driving force of the film is a perfect fit. (Mark my words: Her determination to get the film made will resurface in her Oscar acceptance speech.)
Angelina stars as a Prohibition-era defiant single mom in Los Angeles whose young son is abducted. The fact-based 1928 period drama opens in November. The film lives up to the hype and the audience jumps to an eight minute standing ovation.

Variety’s Anne Thompson talks about stars being in the Zone - where people watch you no matter what:
It’s tougher for women. While men grow into their masculine authority, reaching their prime in their 40s, women have a shorter shelf life in the Zone. Hollywood doesn’t allow them much room for error.
But Angelina Jolie is breaking the mold. While she is not in the Zone — “A Mighty Heart” proves that — she could be. Jolie is Hollywood’s first bona fide femme action star (”Alien” star Sigourney Weaver paved the way). Jolie mixes it up with the best of them. She can be tough, sexy, lethal, funny and heartbreaking, from her career-making Oscar turn in “Girl, Interrupted” to “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” in which she met her match and partner, Brad Pitt.
While Jolie’s output is uneven, she can open genre flicks, forging a path for ambitious actresses to follow. Universal paid her $15 million to return to action in the fantastical R-rated thriller “Wanted,” anchoring the pic with Morgan Freeman opposite the lesser known James McAvoy (”Atonement”). “She established the movie’s quality and legitimacy,” Universal Pictures co-chairman Marc Shmuger says.
