Jesse James Contest!
I know not everyone has been able to see Brad Pitt’s new movie, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford due to its current limited release. However, in the meantime, how would you like to win yourself a promotional gift pack with a t-shirt and hat? Warner has contacted me and offered three of these gift packs to my readers, and since you guys are awesome, of course I accepted.
Keep reading to find out the rules.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post and answer the following question: Who would you like to see Brad Pitt play in a future movie? The answer can be a real life person or a fictional character from literature/pop culture.
If you wish to be entered, you MUST answer the question. Also, only one entry per person!
Before choosing to enter, please keep in mind you will have to provide the Warner contact with your mailing address, so make sure you’re comfortable with giving that information out if you win.
You will have until Friday at 9 pm Eastern time; no entries posted after that time will be accepted. On Monday I will announce the three winners; they will be chosen at random by writing down the comment number from your posting, and then three numbers will be drawn out of a basket.
Good luck to all of you!
Important Edit! Please, PLEASE do not leave your address in your comment. I will only need your address if you are a winner - I will contact all three winners by email next week. Leaving your address in the actual comment is dangerous - please keep in mind that tens of thousands of people read this site every day and they will all see your full address if you write it here. Don’t worry, if you were someone who left me your address here, I have edited your comment to remove it so no one sees it, but I’m not always online and if I’m offline, your address could end up being visible to anyone who drops by for awhile. Thanks!
Contest closed! Please note the contest is closed now. I will announce three winners on Monday evening. No further entries will be counted. Thanks for playing!

I would love to win a Brad Pitt promotional giftpack.
I would love to see Brad play my son, Travis, in a movie. Travis looks like he could be Brad’s younger brother. Everyone tells him, his wife and us how much he looks like Brad. I pray for Brad and his family daily because he does look like my son. Can hardly bare to watch Brad play a part where his character dies because of the resemblence.

I would love to see Brad as Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby. He has the smarts and the sensitivity and yet an undercurrent of steel to play this quintessential American role.

Brad Pitt would be fantastic playing the role of Robert Redfords character in a re-make of All The Presidents Men, and Edward Norton as another character! How amazing that would be.

I would love to see Brad Pitt play the male lead in Atlas Shrugged in which Angelina Jolie is slated to play the female lead. It’s a drama and complex love story that I know that they both would be excellent counterparts. Not sure if it has a happy ending but I know it will be intense.

Brad Pitt would be awesome acting in a Mr and Mrs Smith sequel. Brad and Angelina were great in the first one. A second couldn’t hurt!

I have long lauded the acting chops of Brad and have loved all of his movies. Due to his incredible acting skills, frankly he could play anyone and be believable. I usually find sequels not as good as the original films in general, but I’m dying for Brad and Angelina to reprise their fabulous roles and give us at least one more Mr. & Mrs. Smith adventure if not more.

I think they’re already working on another movie but I would love to see Brad play Indiana Jones or at least that type of character and Angelina could of course play her Lara Croft Tombraider, I’m jealous of her but they do act exceptionally well together in Mr & Mrs Smith!

I’d like to win!
I’d like to see Brad play “Richard” in a film adaptation of Penelope Fitzgerald’s Booker Prize winning novel, “Offshore.” It’s set in 1960s London, and features the intertwined lives of a half a dozen riverboat dwellers. It’s a romantic comedy–and Richard is the love interest.

I would like to see Brad as one of the great maritime adventurers like Christopher Columbus, Capt. James Cook or Ferdinand Magellan. Alternately, I think playing Jesus Christ might be a challenge he would be up for. He can freak the beard quite well.

Hmmm, I would love to see Brad play the character John Galt in the film adaptation of “Atlas Shrugged.” Years before Brad and Angie ever hooked up (about 6 years ago), I had read the book, and the actors I kept imagining to play the main leads (Dagny Taggart and John Galt) were Brad and Angie. Lo and behold, years later, they’ve tapped Angie for the role of Dagny; she fits the character because Dagny is sensual, strong, and very independent. I’m hoping the studio and production company will get Brad for the role of John. John’s a highly intellectual character who walks to the beat of his own drum (sorry to be spewing a cliche), and that right there matches Brad’s personality. Likewise, if I remember correctly, John’s supposed to be good looking and blonde. Heh.

I would like to see Brad Pitt portray Bob Woodward from the perspective of having to walk the line between pursuing your life’s work (journalism) and the very real dangers of telling a story, versus the responsibility that you have to your family and protecting them and your own life.

Big big fan! can sit through MJB and be glad for it.
That being said I love the films in which he subverts the golden boy image that has been thrust upon him. I would love to see him in a film that his children can enjoy, either voice or live action (a couple of years time).

What a great contest! :>
I’d love to see him in some lovely “old-school” detective film, like an L.A. Confidential or a Nero Wolfe mystery. Mainly, that’s because of the suits, but even a true B&W film noir with him as the Sam Spade would be fantastic. (Bonus points for casting you-know-who as the mysterious femme fatale…)

Wow, those are some awesome ideas for who Brad should play. I especially like the Gatsby and the Hubbel ideas. However, I would love to see Brad Pitt play himself. I think a movie about his life would be so interesting. After the big Jen/Angelina ordeal, his story now contains all the necessary elements for a real tearjerker/feel-good movie.

In a future movie, I would like to see Brad paired with Angie in a movie similar to the movie Ghost. I love the music and I’m sure the technology nowadays is better when “Sam” will try to convince his lady that he is still there by her side. I think Angie with short hair for a change and Brad as a blonde ghost. They can extend the story in such a way that they have a young child (daughter) already and the child can see him but not Angie.

I would like to see Brad Pitt play himself in a movie about his life… he has quite an interesting one. I’m an architect, and so one of the aspects of his life that I would like to see more of is his design/creative side, and his aspirations being played out. Also, seeing him interact with his kids in an auto-biographical movie would be great.

I’d like to see him play a totally different type of character.. perhaps a bad guy. Like how Denzel Washington played in his Academy award winning role? Sort of the type that James Remar would play… I don’t have a specific character in mind but it would be interesting to see Brad Pitt in a you-love-to-hate-him type of role. But it would be difficult to hate him, I think! :)

I would like to see Brad in gangster’s movie, playing the part of a villain. An elegant but yet horrible assassin without morals, cruel; a repulsive character that would show everyone that hecan be a good actor. I really enjoyed Brad’s performance in 12monkeys: it was so unexpected that it end up being funny and the best one in the film.

I think Brad does comedies really well. I also like to see him in original material instead of remakes - I just think its hard not to remember the first person who did the role when you watch the new movie.
I think he ought to play an entertainment commentator trying to get a story on someone - perhaps Angelina, who he only ever sees from a distance. To see the paparazzi from another angle - even figure out new ways to avoid them.

Randi, yesterday when I saw this contest I was trying to think of a great role for Brad and I also thought of Roarke from JD Robb’s Death Series. I could also Angie as Eve Dallas.
But I was also thinking that Brad is starting to look so much like Robert Redford so any of his movies or his life story would be great for Brad.

Hi Yall,
I would love to see Brad Pitt play Edward Rochester in Jane Eyre. I can totally see the depth of this character fulfilled by Brad’s passion. For now I will have to dream , but can you agree that this would be fantastic. I cannot imagine Angelina in this film, but as his opposite I think that Jodie Foster would be great!

Though I love Brad in everything he’s ever done, I think I’d like to seem him play a famous philanthropist. Perhaps Andrew Carnegie or John D. Rockefeller would be great. His life is becoming more and more about giving so I think he’d do either of these gentleman great justice. (I do like the idea of him playing Thomas Jefferson as well.)

Contest:
Saw a bunch of people opining for remakes of old Robert Redford movies…I think that’s a mistake since Brad’s always been compared to the original golden boy.
Nope I think the perfect role to defunct his pretty boy image is by playing a man whose life goal is to dish in all 50 states. I’m talking about the story of underground zinester and dish dog, Pete Jordan or Dishwasher Pete (the new book is out). He’s the hero of the underpaid, the quitter, and the ones who don’t give a damn.
This is a perfect role for Pitt who can deconstruct his image with the unglamorous true life story of Dishwasher Pete. This is as indie as you can get, man.

The PERFECT character for Brad to play next is that of Jim Thompson, the millionaire thai silk tycoon. Jim was born in 1906 (brad would look great in this era’s costumes) and helped revitalize Thailand’s silk and textile industry in the 50’s and 60’s. Prior to moving to Thailand (close to Cambodia, where Mad was born) he was in the military working for the OSS, which is now known as the CIA (and everyone loves to see brad in action!) He also went to University of PA to study architecture (which we all know Brad is an architect buff himself!) He never graduated, but was still able to practice his architecture skills by working with a friend who was in the field. He wanted to bring his wife to Thailand with him, but she divorced him instead (divorce, hits close to home?) He helped the poor thai people by giving them work (Brad is a humanitarian himself!) Thompson mysteriously vanished one day while going for a walk in Malaysia on easter sunday in 1967. Some have reported sightings of him after his disappearance, but it still remains asia’s greatest unsolved mystery. There are SO MANY theories on what happened to him.
THIS IS THE PERFECT MOVIE FOR BRAD!!!

I would like to see him play father Mulligan in a film version of Arundathi Roy’s booker prize winning “God of Small Things.” This is a Jesuit priest in turn of the 20thC India sexually aroused by an Indian teenage girl. Brad would be great portraying the inner turmoil of a man caught between his attraction to a beautiful woman and his religious convictions. Judging by Babel and AJJ Brad is good at conveying emotions without making lot of drama. That is what Father Mulligan did, he discussed theology with the girl when he wanted to spend time with her.

Of course, I love Brad Pitt in anything, and I can’t wait to see the Jesse James movie! I would love to see another Mr & Mrs Smith movie, or that type of movie with Brad and Angie. But, I would also love to see Brad in an “outdoors” movie(Legends of the Fall, A River Runs Through It, Seven Years in Tibet…). I would love to see him do another movie like that, where he is outdoors surviving some sort of ordeal or journey. I think he really shines in those types of movies.

I would love to see Brad play James Dean because only he could pull it off. He’s an amazing actor and so talented. James Dean was such a hit in the 1950’s and could have been for many more years if it weren’t for his early death. But now Brad is the new James Dean. It would be the perfect role for Brad to play. Brad would know exactly how to pull off the attitude, style, and the way he spoke. I hope that one day he will play this role.

I forgot to mention that Brad Pitt would be good in a spy role. FBI, Undercover COP? What role hasn’t he played? Teacher, coach, banker, cop, surgeon, doctor, pharmacist, dentist, chef; I could go on for days with this one. EW, racecar driver? Oh, a fisherman in the northern Atlantic or northern Pacific oceans? Anthropology? Rancher? Oh, Train Robber? Um, Biologist? Well, if I think of anything else I will let you know. hahahaha!!

Robert C. James
I am a Great Grandson of Jesse Woodson James and have written the movie screenplay of THE SECOND LEGEND OF JESSE WOODSON JAMES (c) 1993. The REAL Jesse lived to be 107 years age. He was still alive when I was born in 1951. The cover up by the James family was that Robert Ford killed Charlie Bigelow, and not Jesse James.
I believe Brad Pitt as Jesse James will not portray the character of the “hardened, civil war and one of Quantril’s guerrilla veteran” whom the REAL Jesse was. His close knit family life was full of strife and tension because he was a “Wanted Man, Dead or Alive!” After his freedom from his supposed death, he even sang at the funeral.
He was a desperado and traveled as far as Argentina, South America. He had over seventy five aliases he used during the 72 following years of his life. No, I beleive that another actor than Brat Pitt would have depicted the character of Jesse W. James to a rating of not R, but XXX.

I would like to see Brad and Angie in an updated version of Charade, with Brad playing the Cary Grant role and Angie the Audrey Hepburn role. There was a picture of the two of them together in Davos (Angie was still pregnant) over a year ago, and I thought they would be great in that film. Charade is the same genre as M&MS.. it had romance, mystery and was funny, too.

I would love to see Brad play the leading role in the story of Gideon from the Bible, book of Judges 6-8. Where Gideon and his small amount of soldiers confuse the Midianites and they end up fleeing and killing eachother.
Its my favorite story ever and i know he would make it even greater.

I would love to have the packet of goodies. My new grandson is named Jesse James (James name runs in our family so I thought Jesse would be perfect for him. I love western bandit history. The museum at School of Ozarks has great memorabilia and the time life western books were great.
Brad plays awesome western characters letting the audience see the good humanistic caring side of the person (even if they really weren’t nice). Brad would make a fantastic Sundance Kid movie the way Robert Redford did. (I can’t get over how many people in previous posts put him doing Redford parts too. They both have the flair to their parts have such a human real person side to them.

I’d like to see Brad play Sonny Barger in a movie about the motorcycle club he founded. I can’t use the name of the club because the system censors it.

Wow, everyone has such great ideas. It took awhile to come up with something different and here it is:
1. A remake of the Skin Game(fun con, adventure) with Brad & Will Smith taking James Garner/Louis Gossett’s roles. Pre-Civil War Midwest or West. Brad pretends to own ‘slave’ Will and ‘sells’ him to someone deserving to be swindled. They almost get caught but eventually get away.
I know I’ll be entered only once, but now that my juices are flowing, I’ll share my other ideas.

Based on historical period – WWII/Japanese American internment, Sacramento, CA. Brad & similarly aged Japanese American woman are both from farm families. They meet at UC Berkeley where they are either graduating seniors, or in post-graduate studies. Fall in love, natch, though both know it’s not supposed to happen, she resists even more than he, but he persuades her and gets her pregnant (sex scenes, yay!). Illegal for different races to marry in California, so they secretly elope to Reno. Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt orders the rounding up of all Japanese/Japanese Americans from the West Coast, regardless of their citizenship status. Brad & his wife rush home to Sacramento. They decide they have to tell their families about their marriage and the baby. Both families are extremely unhappy. Much drama ensues, with both families pressuring the couple to renounce their love, baby & marriage. After being swayed back and forth, they decide to hold on to their love/marriage/baby carriage. Brad’s pregnant love and her family are rushed away to one of 10 relocation camps spread out from the West Coast to Arkansas. They don’t know where they’re going, and neither does Brad. They don’t know how they’re going to communicate with each other or if they’ll ever see each other again. Brad tells her he’s going to enlist in the army and to write him there, that they should be able to find him. Brad begs his coldly disapproving family to try to find out where his wife ended up, and to help in any way they can. Brad reminds them their first grandchild will be in the camps too. Hoping they they relent, Brad embraces them with love and goes off to San Francisco to ship out. [maybe end here – more dramatic, or maybe continue]

how about we STOP REMAKING FILMS and get original ideas, eh?!!
ummm….I would LOVE to win!!
and I would love it even more if Brad played a character that wasn’t so serious for once. He seems like a funny guy..Mr and Mrs. Smith was and the Oceans movies brought out some humor in him…I’d like to see more!

I would like to see Brad produce and star in a movie celebrating Rem Koolhaas with Brad playing a student of Rem’s, combining fiction and nonfiction to share this architect’s accomplishments with a new audience in a lighthearted manner.

I would like to see Brad play Mr. Pip/Watts in adaptation of the novel Mr. Pip, about a eccentric white man who takes it upon himself to teach Great Expectations in a school house in war torn and poverty stricken village in Bougainville. While the area is ransacked by war and poverty and at time great violence, Mr. Pip makes it bearable by inspiring new hope and imagination through the stories. Mr. Pip is written by Lloyd Jones. Thank you.

Who would you like to see Brad Pitt play in a future movie?
i would like to see Brad Pitt play as Mr Smith again with Angie as Mrs Smith. Thats how they met in the first place right? Its during the movie that they fell in love with each other… AWW so sweet! If its possible Brad pitt can also act in a family movie with his kids, maddox, etc as actors and actresses too. HAHA, it will be so humourous.
I really hope to win the promo pack! Thanks a lot if i do get lucky and get chosen!
brad pitt and angie’s fan forever!

I would love to see Brad in a romantic role, like in Meet Joe Black. He has a dark vulnerability about him and of course he is hugely sexy!!!!!!

Brad should take on a role playing one of his favorite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.
I think Brad would enjoy making that movie while getting immersed in Wright’s creative reasonings for his architectural designs. I think Brad would be proud to do it since he loves architecture.

I have always wanted someone to make a movie that shows the events that took place before and after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. I watched the news and reports on the devastation that occured, but I believe that no one really understands and grasps the real tragedy that took place. I would love to see a documentary type movie showing Hurricane Katrina evacuation in New Orleans, the events that took place during Hurricane Katrina and the events after Hurricane Katrina hit land and the devastation that took place afterwards (for example the levy breaking). Maybe you could have Brad play a man with a family living in New Orleans at the time Hurricane Katrina occured and show what this family actually went through to get out of that situation alive. I don’t think alot of Americans (except the Americans that lived in New Orleans and the effected areas) have any concept of what REALLY took place. It would be a great movie to promote the rebuilding of New Orleans, maybe donate some of the proceeds of the movie to help the rebuilding New Orleans.

I didn’t make my prior contest entry clear that Jim Thompson is the most famous AMERICAN ever in Thailand. He was not of thai descent (sp?). Also, i forgot to note that 6mos after his disappearance, his sister was murdered in Chicago. Possibly because of his link with the CIA? No one knows.

I would like to see Brad Pitt play Julius Caesar or Mark Anthony in a Roman movie with Cleopatra. Something about robes and leather sandals would make me run not walk to the nearest movie theatre. Nadine

I would like to see Brad play himself in a film.
his life is so interesting that I think a biopic is in order.
IF it could be pulled off in some sort of artistic manner and not a movie of the week kind of scenerio.
