Woohoo! A new trailer for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is now available. It opens in theaters September 21st. As a big fan of Westerns, I’m really hoping that Brad Pitt starring as Jesse James will make Westerns cool again – it’s such an underrated genre.
The cast is awesome, starring Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Mary-Louise Parker, Paul Schneider, Sam Rockwell, Sam Shepard, and Zooey Deschanel. I can’t wait!

I was watching a clip on ET last night, and I don’t typically like this kind of movies, but since it is Brad I will sure to watch and it seemed like a good film.

What an amazing looking film, it reminded me a little of the Unforgiven, but not so dark in surrounding.
I didn’t know Jesse James had children? Anyone know if any family are still living?

I love western movies, since it’s Brad Pitt’s, it makes it more interesting & good to watch. Angelina was with him in Canada when he was filming this movie. It’s less than a month & counting. Can’t wait to see it.
It looks great! I thought there were 2 versions made and this was the reason it took so long to be released. Which version will be released? darker and more violent /or safe hooywood style?

WOW, that looks GREAT!!! There really hasn’t been much hype or adverts about this movie, but wow…that trailer is awesome. And the music is haunting!!!
I happy to see something new about this movie !Makes it all seem so real that we will finally see this in theaters .The trailer looks great .
I love this because from the trailer, it looks more like a drama than the aim and shoot type Western.
I think we passed Jesse James’ hide out when we drove from Ohio to California and we drove through Missouri. I think Brad’s acting in this movie is very serious looking. It was filmed in 2005 when Angie was conceiving Shiloh.
I read just recently (can’t remember source right now) that Brad & the director won out over the studio suits to make it a character study of Jesse James & Robert Ford vs. a conventional action-western.
It had great expectations, then it got a troubled reputation because of all the editing & re-editing (Brad even edited one version). Then the bad buzz turned around and word is Brad & Casey Affleck give great performances.
I love this trailer – the mood, the cinematography.
AAJJ is going to be at the Venice Film Festival 8/29 to 9/8 2007, right? And the Toronto International Film Festival September 6-15, 2007? That means Brad should be there. If it does well at TIFF, it’ll get a tremendous boost because TIFF is considered the unofficial start of Oscar season.
