Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt move a ton of magazines!

I know we’re not very surprised by this bit of news, but the issue of People featuring the world debut of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s twins, Knox and Vivienne was a huge sale success. The issue sold 2.6 million dollars according to Women’s Wear Daily.
The top selling issues of People in history were the 9/11 issue with 4.1 million copies, the issue regarding the death of Princess Diana with 3 million, the issue for the death of John F. Kennedy Jr. with 2.8 million, the Jolie-Pitt twins at 2.8 million, and the issue with Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s debut with 2.2 million.
That’s not bad for babies who haven’t done anything beyond being born yet!
People also set a new record by having 6 million unique visits to the site when the first image of Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt was released.
Way to go!

It is nice that a happy event sold so many issues. All the others are sad.

Oh am glad you got the link, Sherry. My posts disappeared so I wasn’t sure.
gena G, Its weird that some stores still have a few copies, most stores near me including B&N sold out, restocked and “puff” again.

People magazine was released a few days early than it would have been usually, and was scheduled to remain in newstands for at least 2 weeks.
Hello is sold at Barnes & Noble, but since it’s a weekly, it might be gone already. Someone posted a site earlier where a digital copy of Hello can be bought digitally.
G’night - tired from running around doing all my errands. Painful as it is, I’m tearing myself away from my Pittwatch addiction so I’ll be ready to go out of town (including my mom’s visit).

I think baby Viv has a little baby gas. Not a natural smile, but the pictures were beautiful. The Jolie-Pitts are very blessed.

Not a surprise at all. Each day I glance through my People magazine. Each time I see something I hadn’t noticed before.

for people who want to buy some people or hello issue, go on ebay!
do you see the new cover of In touch??? it’s ridiculous, why people can’t admit that brad and angie are happy, in love and have a great time togheter with the kids? i know that it’s a tabloid and that tabloid say wrong things, but i can’t understand the people who buy these magazines!

melodie, i think it’s their stupid way of telling brad & angie to appear on the red carpet in venice together. they also miss them. LOL;)
seriously.. why do these mags always make up this nagger image of angie? she’s far from that in real life. sadly, they don’t know her like we do. LOL:)

melodie, just don’t mind it. you know how tabs would make up s.t.u.p.i.d stories just to have money. it’s a sad truth and there’s nothing else we can do about it but to ignore it. anyway, how did your exams went?

I’ve just seen the cover of In Touch! God!!! Where do they come uo with such things? I admit that everytime I read such news I get a little bit scared. I know that they’re just tabloids that have to sell, but I also know that there is a saying “there is no smoke without a fire” so everytime, I wait, nervously, for some time to pass in order to see that the news is not confirmed. Then I can relax :p Thank God that until now, every news that said that they are breaking up was false. I hope with all my heart that this will be the case also.
I don’t know much about the reputation of In Touch. Maybe someone can fill me in. Are they known for saying anything just to sell?

If you know that in touch is a tabloid why would you question if they’re reputable, lol, keep reading the tabloids and continue to read lies, 4yrs later all their breakup covers have been false, but hey its a free country continue reading them if you must.

People buy and read these magazines because they want the story to be true, they may say they’re fans but really they are not, they want to believe the story.

fan, I didn’t say that I read tabloids. On the contrary. I just asked about its reputation because I’m not from America and I don’t know the magazine. For what is worth I never believe anything written in the magazines these days, only if it is confirmed by the parties involved. I think I’ve said this somewhere before. I just asked ;)

I do believe that feeling like love, fear, despair, hate,… are strong feeling and very “contagious” feeling, easily spread. That ’s my theory.
To be honest, I tired of this kind of story (break-up news,…). I’m not interested. That way I close the door to a negative feeling.

Wow, great news for People magazine! With 2.8 million issues sold they should be able to recover the price of the photos plus some profit?
6 millions visits to the site is incredible! More power to Angie and Brad!
