  OMG…..I can hardly handle one 5 year old, and with the way they travel. It doesn’t matter how much help you have 6 kids are daunting. One thing is for sure they are old hands, so I am sure they are up to the challenge. Hope they take a long, long vacation.

  I think it is AWESOME news! But it kinda bums me out that it was let slip because now it will be the whole “shiloh feeding frenzy” again. Brad and Angie having a baby was kind of ‘been there, done that’ for the press right now and they weren’t being hounded. I think all that will change now.

  Brad & Angie must be thrilled, twins. WOW. I can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or a girl. Brad must be in heaven knowing they will have twins, how about if it’s girl she will look like mommy Angie & a boy he will look like daddy Brad. It’s hard having twins but I’m sure they are going to be fine, they can afford help. Knowing them as hands on parents, I doubt if they will let somebody take care of the twins while they are still babies. Six kids in more than 3 years. Wow.

  annalouise, no harm intended, but twins run in Brad’s family. I know many celebs “make it happen” but I doubt this is the case for Angie and Brad as it seems they have no problems conceiving. The “make it happen” twins are happening to those over 40 who try to conceive and cannot. We have 2 sets of twins among our children and they are both natural as it is in our genetic line. I would hate to have nosy people speculate that our children somehow “made it happen”.

  WOW. I seriously can’t believe it. Oh my goodness. Twins!

  All the tabloids have been bleating “it’s twins, people!” for so long and I’ve been sitting here scoffing at them, saying “get real, where on earth did you pull that from?” I guess the tabloids have a case of the boy who cried wolf now: they make up such ridiculous lies that when they actually get a genuine scoop, very few people believes them anymore.

  Oh my goodness. I think I need a cup of tea and a good sit down. This is huge news to take in! Six children is going to be quite a handful. If anyone deserves this much love and joy it’s Angelina and Brad. Bless them all.

  Just watched Access Hollywood and Angie is just over the moon. So beautiful and glowing. I loved the little stories she told about Z and Pax thinking they have something in their bellies. And how sweet is their tradition of giving the kids a sibling party when a new baby comes home.

  annelouise - sure, many people do have twins (or more) because of fertility treatments, but it’s not necessarily the case here. Maybe they did, maybe they didn’t. The more important question is, who cares? If they did choose to do treatments, that’s their business. If they didn’t and got twins as the luck of the draw, good for them too. Twins run rampant in my family, enough so that I was a little nervous until it was confirmed that I was only having one each time. :) So, just because it’s not as common as a single baby doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

  Angela - I don’t know for sure but I would guess they already knew for some time and just didn’t talk about it.

  I keep wondering if she thwacked Jack over the head after the interview for his loose lips! ;)

  Can’t wait for the whole Today show interview tomorrow. Angie said in AccessHollywood that Z and Pax in particular think they also have things in their bellies…animals! Z thinks she has pigs and Pax thinks he has monkeys! How cute is that! That explains Brad’s sympathy belly (hehehehe)! This family is too adorable!!

  Davesmonster over at Randi’s website did mention that some people will probably bring up the topic of fertility treatments and artificial insemination with this announcement. Weren’t there already stuff like this that came out earlier on? Oh well, if some people want to believe that some people have multiple births because of that, let them think so. And even if they did, Sherry is right, who cares. Such procedures have helped so many couples who otherwise wouldn’t be able to have children. Unfortunately, as with any scientific procedures, some people might abuse it, but I think they are few and far between. Even if the Brad and Angie did have fertility treatments (which I don’t believe they had to because twins run in their families), does it really matter? These two are people who love children and are willing to give their all to raising them well.

  Yeah it also seems unlikely to me when they’d probably have been just as happy having another biological baby and adopted another one after s/he was born because i’m sure they want to adopt more in the future..plus, if they were going to have A.I. you’d think they’d have done it on the 1st pregnancy not the second..i did see magazines reporting that they had A.I about maybe 3/4 months ago i didn’t kno what i thought though i was just happy she was pregnant again! I don’t care if they did or didn’t they are capable adults making their own choices and i must admit i pretty much agree with their choices and the way they live their lives so who cares frankly? I didn’t know twins ran in their families..let’s see how much that gets reported on in the media rather than how they’ve definately had A.I.

  I’m really surprised! I didn’t believe the rumors - but I’m so happy for them.

  I remember praying NOT to have twins the first and second time I was pregnant. The third time I secretly would have enjoyed twins. By then I knew I could handle 2+ children.

  Ange is looking so beautiful - and with TWINS! Who else could pull it off with such grace? They are very blessed to cherish their large and loving family.

  I doubt they have AI, but we will never know. I have known people who have had twins naturally and those who had AI and either way they are a blessing.

  Who else had twins? I know Jennifer Lopez - and that was probably AI since she had fertility issues. Oh yes, the actor from Grey’s Anatomy (who knows if they used AI?) and the actress from Desperate Housewives (probably did have fertility treatments) and that’s right, Dennis Quiad and his wife’s surrogate had twins - again probably w/some fertility treatments. Seems unlikely that a young, fertile woman with 4 children would use fertility treatments, but again, we’ll never know!

  The rags reported on these twins many months ago. Obviously, you don’t want to believe everything you read, but I do feel that plenty of things written are true, even if the celebrity denies it. There are too many maids, service people, etc. who overhear things and are willing to sell their stories. As far as fertility treatments, I know that Angelina was having difficulty conceiving this time around and I remember her expressing frustration last year. So, I have no doubt that she had treatments. Obviously, it doesn’t really make any difference, but I think that is the reason we are seeing so many twins in celebrities lately - they are needing a bit of scientific help. At any rate, I too am thrilled that they are having twins. I know Brad loves little girls - he said in an interview a few years ago how much he loved little girls. Still, I can’t help hope that at least one of the babies’ is a boy - we need Brad Pitt’s looks in the future!!

  I just want to add a bit of information that I think I read somewhere that Doug Pitt or Brad’s sister has twins too. The lady from Desperate Housewives might have had fertility treatment since I believe she was already in her forties. I think J. Lopez is also almost forty years old too with fertility treatment. Angie is only 32 and Brad’s family has the twins’ genes.

  This is exciting news. Personally, I don’t care whether conception was IVF or the old-fashioned way (not that it’s my business). I know more & more women are opting for IVF for various reasons - advanced age, single mom, etc. My niece finally conceived with IVF method. My cousin adopted a pair of siblings, then had twin girls by IVF. Because of the IVF method, multiple fetuses are produced, depending on the health & resources of the mom/parents, they choose to raise twins, triplets, or more. I don ‘t think anyone involved in IVF would call this a fad.

  Doctors have also noticed that more & more twins are resulting from natural births. Twins are almost common now, when I was growing up, they were rare. The article I read quite a while back noted the phenomenon but didn’t explain it.

  Can’t wait to see the full interview tomorrow on Today.

  Angelina never said she was having difficulty conceiving. That’s a lie.

  And the tabloids did not report the “twins” months ago. Who come up with the story was X17online (If it was not a wild guess, they probably bought the information on their doc office or LA hospital. they sold some medical information about other actors too. There’s a investigation going on right now.) and then Star pick up that and made up a couple of more things. And some other tabloids first use the story, then said she was only having one and the last lie was that she was having triplets.

  You know that the tabloids also had a story of Angelina having twins when she was pregs with Shi, don’t you?

  Tabs don’t know shit. All they do is to write bad fiction. When the got something right, especial with Angelina and Brad, is out of luck.

  Angelina is a 32 year women, with no record of having problems conseving (Shi was made at the first try) and a family history of ovarian cancer. No doctor in his right mind would give fertility meds. You can ask that to you’re doctor.

  You know it never crossed my mind that Angelina and Brad would have used AI to get pregnant a second time. Why? She is a young woman who has already been pregnant just 3 years ago, and I suspect doesn’t have any fertility issues. Sherry is right it really is their business if they did, but it is annoying to me that just because she is pregnant with twins AI has to be the reason.

  As a former infertility patient (we are lucky to have two children given the use of fertility drugs and artificial insemination), I just feel like I have to clear up some misinformation. AI, in and of itself, does not lead to multiples. It’s the use of fertility drugs that leads to extra eggs which then increases the likliehood of multiples. I believe some of you are referring to invitro fertilization, which involves the harvesting of multiple eggs (produced with the help of fertility drugs) which are then fertilized with sperm and implanted in the uterus. I prayed that we would not have to resort to that method because there is nothing easy about it. It takes a huge toll on the woman and is only successful less than 1/4 of the time for each attempt. It is really pretty drastic, and before you do it there are a number of other methods to try depending on your circumstances. Women who have blocked or dysfunctional fallopian tubes have no other choice, but to use invitro fertilzation, but the rest of us have less drastic options. If there is simply an issue of an irregular cycle, as I thought I heard was true for Angelina, you can take a drug (not a fertility drug) to correct that and it does have a slight risk of increasing your chances for twins. In any case, even having twins makes the risk to the infants, especially, much higher. While it is exciting, it shouldn’t be something we aspire to. Also, there is no twin gene! There may be a tendency to “drop” more than one egg (ovum) that runs in families and leads to more fraternal twins, but that is it.

  Fortunately, Angelina is smart and can afford the best of care. Here’s hoping it all goes well for this family.

  Just read at People’s website that Dustin Hoffman said Angie’s due date is August 19. Wow, that’s my birthday too, so I think it would be so cool if she did give birth that day. But I know due dates are never really the exact date that babies come. Still, it would be really nice. :)
