No freebies for Angelina Jolie, please
Recently, Angelina Jolie returned some free t-shirts to Pepe Jeans. The company had sent one t-shirt for each child. Companies frequently send free children’s clothes to celebrities in the hopes that they will be photographed out and about with them, increasing their sales. Angelina is not the only celebrity mom to do this; Julia Roberts has also politely refused free clothing for her children.
Angelina was very polite about declining the clothes.
Angelina returned the clothes with a nice thank-you note. But she made it clear she could not accept the gift, as she didn’t know exactly who sent them.
It’s kind of ridiculous, honestly. I realize the intent is to increase their sales, but I think these companies would be smarter if they donated some clothing to children in need instead; that would also make them look good and increase their sales, and meanwhile they would be helping children in poverty. Celebrities can afford to buy their kids clothes, they don’t need the freebies, and obviously people like Angelina Jolie know that.

first!!! yippeee….That’s our girl Angelina!!! using her common sense…. She and Brad are millionaire parents, they don’t need freebies… unlike some celebrities with no brains ( which i won’t name names) Angelina does not want to be used by these brand name companies !!! I love Angelina even more because of her stance on this matter.. GO JOLIE-PITTS…Thanks Sherry for the new thread.

It’s also for her children’s safety. Free is good, but not really if you don’t know who sent them. Who knows what the heck could have been on those shirts.

I agree that Angie had her childrens’ safety in mind, there are a lot of crazy people out there. And also I wouldn’t want my children used like that either.

I found it a bit weird that the richer they are the more freebies that they will get. I guess the amount of money that they spend on giving those rich with freebies would be better if they give it to someone in real need.

I love when celebrities don’t accept swag or freebies. It’s completely hypocritical when celebrities (I’m talking in general, here) ask for the public donate money for causes and then we see pictures of them at Sundance loaded down with tons of free gear that they get at these “boutiques” at the festival. Good for Angie. She is a philanthropist who really gets it (but not for free, tee hee).

Angie is heartwarmig in her sincerity. Rich people ALWAYS get the “freebie’s”. Pure class by JA & BP to refuse. It makes me like them better.
They wouldn’t mind if those guys donated, instead as one posted said.
I actually get P/O’d when “stars” accept these freebies. I mean, how greedy can you get?

Sherry, you seem like a nice person, you really do. But I have to wonder if you’re slightly celebrity-crazed since all you seem to do is just ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ over Pitt and Jolie. It’s like they can do no wrong! If Jolie had accepted the free shirts, I’m almost certain you would have said, “She sure deserves it for the all charity work she does…” yada yada. I like me some Brad candy just as much as the next girl but I definitely don’t think they’re some sort of ultimate couple. I like to visit your website every now and again for the pretty pictures but I just had to ask if you feel at all embarrassed by being so whipped?

Freebies are good if their intentions are good, but you know the reason behind why they are giving free shirts to the kids “ADVERTISEMENTS.”
Angelina did the right thing send the shirts back.

It is very obvious we have a classy couple. If these big companies want to donate clothes to the needy is much better than giving them to celebrities. They want to use them. I did not know that MMS is shown in UK already. Is it like a paid channel? It must be since it is not on regular free channel in the states yet. If these companies were really smart, they would donate those freebies to the children charities that Angie supports, and then she would be encouraged to BUY their clothes for her children, thereby giving them the advert time they’re seeking.
Remember the ridiculous golden/diamond pacifier worth thousands that some idiot designer supposedly did for Shiloh? Angelina did not even acknowledge them because I think such waste just goes against everything she believes in. There are people who cannot find food to eat, yet others waste so much money buying designer outfits for their friggin dogs and even taking them to spas, etc. How ridiculous!

Thanks for the huge laugh. Seriously, that was funny. I’m not sure what to say to you. If you think that I’m “whipped” because I’m not negative, then there’s not much I can say, is there? There are hundreds of celebrity sites out there that slam the hell out of Brad and Angelina - the point of this one is to report the news and to have a positive view.
And to answer your other question, if she HAD accepted it, I probably would have just said, “Here is Angie out with her kids wearing the clothes sent as freebies by Pepe Jeans” and left it at that without commentary because I’d have nothing else to say.
This is a fan site. I dont know why it would be shocking that it’s not a negative site.

I love your site Sherry most of the people or fans who leave comments here are nice & most are Brad & Angelina’s fans, JJ site, I checked that to see the latest news & pictures of the golden couple, I also read & leave comments but now I have to think it twice before commenting because people there can be rude & mean.

Sherry…you and your website ROCK! IGNORE THE HATERS! Some people like ‘Maggie’ have such a warped sense of others, to the point where even comments intended to be positive end up ooooozzzzing negativity without them even being fully aware of it. The fact that she describes you as potentially ‘celibrity crazed’, but on the other hand freely admits that she reduces Brad Pitt to being just ‘Brad-candy’ is evidence of her own shallowness and disconnection by her obvious inability to observe movie stars as more than just one-demensional sexual objects. We all know how HOTT Brad is, but I think true fans like yourself also appreciate the singular Iconic qualities that he adds to his acting work through characters such as ‘Tyler Durden’ in FIGHTCLUB, the boxer in SNATCH, the patient in 12 MONKEYS, the dispondent vampire in INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE…etc. The fact that he and Angelina are now caring parents who also choose to make themselves useful and a positive force in the world is icening on the cake, as they do not have to do any of that, but could simply sit by the pool sipping cocktails and enjoying their blessed life. Sending back the clothes is an admirable response that says they will not be BOUGHT, and was rightly praised by you. BRAVO Sherry, and thanks so much for the positive BAMPZS site.
